Update - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone. This is going to be the most stupid question but i just want to know. I'm currently using note v4.0.4 XXLRI and i saw official jellybean released for XXLSZ. Can i flash that stock? If yes, what i need to do before flashing? Thx....

You can connect to Kies and check if that let's you update.

i don t want to use kies, i just want to know if i can downlaod official jb and flash using Odin. Can I? i want to flash XXLSZ official jellybean on my XXLRI device, just want to know if i can, and what to do before doing this.

If you know everything your questions are a surprise.
My answer was short because there really isn't anything more to do. Why should I talk and fill an answer with bloatwords?
Of course you should make backups (in recovery and/or with TB) of your devices and data - but that isn't a "must" only a sign of "diligence".

I heard some ROM doesnt work with philz or blablabla and im just afraid cuz i never try. And another one is i saw some custom mention LSZ or anything else, i afraid that official JB XXLSZ only for XXLSZ and will brick if i flash it on XXLRI. And im asking what to do before flashing, because i thought there would be something i need to install/flash before flashing that official JB. Thx guys

Find post #2 or 3 on first line of my sign
Download any ROM(GB), preferably your region and flash using PC Odin
You may find force closes or stuck at boot, but nothing to worry. reboot in recovery and wipe cache and data.
Flash a GB rom from ur region and wipe data / dalvik and cache from recovery
thanks for the replies guys, is there any i should avoid causing the brick that affected so many people, or have all the at risk files been removed from xda forum ?

Avoid wipe / reset once you are on stock ICS kernel.
but the other guys said to wipe after i install the stick rom?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
He said you to wipe on gb rom, I advised you not to wipe on stock ics rom.
Got it?
Read post #2 what I did say
I have said same to wipe, but on gb rom only.

That was for stock Gingerbread rom, wipe on GB is safe but it is not safe on ICS. As long as you are on GB roms you can wipe without any issue. So best for you is to download stock Gingerbread firmware for your country from here and then flash it using pc odin, you will find instructions for using odin in same thread.
After flashing GB rom you may face some boot loop or other issue, so in that case just boot in stock recovery (vol up+home+power) and perform full wipe.

Yup, his phone never root before. If the phone rooted we need to unroot before flash stock ICS rom?
No but if you are rooted on gb and then upgrade using pc odin, then you will get triangle sign.i use mobile odin to avoid it.
And as you ain rooted you can simply flash it.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Try to full wipe first on gb bfore u upgrade.
Always better to do clean install when u jump version, to avoid problems.
Do wipe in gb first. Dont do any wipe in ics stock kernel.
Sent from my GT-N7000 at the corner of this rounded earth.
just root it from dr ketan's thread .. download mobile odin and flash the ics stock rom

Wrong. If you flash stock rom, no yellow triangle.
To the OP: try connecting via kies and do it that way first. If not, then do the pc odin method.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
As you have an unrooted device why dont you try for an OTA update, you can sit back and relax while it does its work on its own, or samsung kies

Returning to stock

Hi all,
Thinking of selling my i9000 soon (to upgrade to an S3), before I sell it. I'd like to return it to a stock rom and unroot it (currently on CM9), which stock rom should I use? How do I unroot it, and how do I remove all my personal information?
Thanks in advance
Rob

Thanks! Do I need to use a PIT and repartition? Are there any things to look out for since I'm going from ICS to GB, or is it just the same as flashing any other Odin ROM?
Sorry for all the questions

I thought that it is not that easy because some ICS use different filesystems.
If you want to get back to gb custom rom it's difficult.odin is used to flash official firmware.

You will have no problems, i use odin too if i want stock rom back

Help me! ASAP

Yesterday i had to rooting my tab and then i founded one trick that i think its a lot easier. Im using CF-Root, then i used to flash with odin. No problem appear after that, but the problem coming after i had to reboot my tab; some sound glitch occur on samsung bootanim, and the last big problem for me is, now i cant turn on my tab again it stuck at bootanim. I know how to fix that problem; just flashing back to stock rom. But, i dont want to do that because i have a ton of games and app who will be disappear if im going to flashing back to stock.
So, anyway that can fix my problem without back to stock? Can someone give me a link about stock or custom gb(2.3.3) kernel? Maybe it can solve my problem. Please someone. Help me

I repacked the JQ1 euro rom's kernel in a tar
http://goo.gl/Bpmcr
try flash that in Odin like when you did CF-root
Then boot to the stock recovery and do a wipe cache (not sure of stock recovery has that..?)
anyway, try and see.
Else you probably want a restock.
If eventually you want to restock, just follow my signature to Overcome links.

you may be out of option but to restock.
Using CF-root was always a hit and miss.
that is why I recommend Overcome method every time.

Then it is s GB rom with root.
