I bricked my phone recently (stepped on the USB wire while flashing RUU, thus unplugging USB) and I try to use dexter93's unbricking project. Here's the link:

. So, I do everything it says, yet when I type "./brickdetect.sh" in the terminal, it tells me that the device cannot be found. The SD Card, the SIM card and the battery are all out. HELP!
Can you get to bootloader? Does it get recognized in fastboot?
HTC Vivid with Sense 4+ ICS 4.0.4
My phone doesn't respond to anything. Can't get into bootloader, can't charge. But when plugged into my laptop, it always says '' Installing drivers: QHSUSB_DLOAD''. Does that help?

....sorry but I'm 99.9 it's a brick, if adb nor fastboot can read it, more than likely cut you're losses and see about finding another vivid online or so, development had picked back up again so it will be worth it!
HTC Vivid with Sense 4+ ICS 4.0.4
Thanks for everything, but if you read dexter93's thread, it says I can, but I just gotta find the problem.

Hello,
After the OTA update, my Vivid doesn't want to turn on at all. When I connect it to USB I get QHSUSB_DLOAD and nothing happens.
Any ideas ? Thank you !
Your phone is done. There is no way to fix the problem beside getting a new phone.

I wouldn't say that. Since the chipset could be written, it is not completely dead. Sensation users have already found a fix for this, but it is a different chipset.
We don't have the files needed to recover. Either you need to get it replaced under warranty or insurance.

Which OTA update? As far as I know AT&T and Telstra are the only two carriers to have released their ICS update OTA. If you're actually on Voda in Romania I don't know what would have possessed you to try installing one of those two OTAs.
..
The phone is from AT&T. It didn't have any sim card in it when I got the update.

yeah man theres no way sorry. at least for now.
to be honest, ur best bet is to call htc service and warranty and see if you can ship it to them
http://www.htc.com/us/support/service-and-repair
i've sent them many phones for repairs under warranty, and all but 1 didn't get fixed for free
Does it vibrate if your try to do the bootloader combo?
No. It doesn't react at any keypress.

Serious Help Needed
Hello everyone. Sorry to even waste your time, but I am in need of help with my HTC Vivid. I am on an unrooted, locked bootloader, and I have been trying to upgrade to the newest ICS OTA update that I missed with the dialer code.
I have downloaded the PH39IMG.zip, and it updated my HBoot to 1.85.0024. This is where I am stuck. The phone will only show HTC on startup, and then goes black. Again I am on an unrooted HTC Vivid. Any help would be hugly appreciated. Please help out a simpleton.
Thanks for your time.
Unlock the bootloader in fastboot.
Flash recovery in fastboot
Flash boot in fastboot
Flash Rom of your choice

Did you run the PH39IMG file twice? it needs to run the file twice to complete updating the HBOOT. In any case, and this goes for all who are not very familiar with Vivid flashing, USE THE RUU!
In your current state, try to boot into bootloader (you probably already know the process, but it is power + vol down from power off state) Once you have booted into bootloader, you can proceed and upgrade to stock ICS. If you decided to run custom roms after, it is easy and much much less likely to brick your phone.
Hallelujah
Thanks so much guys. Those were helpful tips, and I have ICS running now. Thanks again. Have a good one.
after custom rom installation phone never booted, now showing QHS usb dload
You just flashed a Froyo Radio, if you had read before flash, you had know that this will brick your device. Only way to repair is JTag or HTC Service.

works
To use ADB or Fastboot your phone has to be in USB Debugging mode Set this in Settings/Developer Options on the phone.
My HTC One is bricked and is not starting, HOW should I do that?

Manners cost nothing and generally help you to get a reply.
That being said, without further information it's hard to help..
What did you do to brick?
Can you get to bootloader?
Can you get to fastboot usb?
The more information you provide, the more help can be offered. Remember WE aren't holding your phone. WE can try things on it. That will fall to you, all we can do is offer suggestions based on as much information as you can provide.
If you bricked it trying to s-off or burning an RUU or accepting an OTA whilst you had a modded hboot then things might not be looking too good but without knowing, there's no help we can offer.

My HTC was kinda bricked 2 hours ago. Can't charge can't boot to recovery or boot loader . Only thing was try to reset using hold power + vol down but wasn't working . The capacitive buttons keep flashing forever
But I used the adb commands to get it back booting to recovery .
U need the adbfiles in the same folder as cmd command prompt usually it's win 32 if u start it in administration mode .
Type adb reboot bootloader

its best to put it in the same folder as the cmd starts from
Also its advisable to keep à rom zip handy in yr sdcard . In case things go wrong u dont need to rely on adb commands

Hey,
I didn't mean it bad. Also I didn't want real help since I actually gave up my HTC One...
Theres a big link in my signature with my "need help" topic.. Maybe you do know how to fix my One ^_^
Hey guys I am trying to restore my phone back to factory settings so I can send it in for warranty repairs (camera never Did work). I have the bootloader unlocked and it is rooted with the Viper custom rom installed.
I have been having a lot of trouble with attaining S-Off though. the program stops at "bottles are packed, here we go, shhhhhh....
waiting for device
heh, just a shot glass for this one....
ERROR: run rumrunner again.
Press ENTER to exit
What am I doing wrong?
ps: my phone is not picked up by cmd prompt when I run adb devices but will by typing in fastboot devices. Is this an issue?
Thanks a ton!
Are drivers properly installed? I am assuming that you are using windows so under Computer>Properties>Device Manager does your PC see your phone as HTC One?
Had a similar problem and i just installed htc sync manager for the drivers and the removed it
If else, you could try disabling antivirus, although i don't think it would make much of a difference to be honest, but better safe than sorry
Yeah you need to have adb working, when on the homescreen, open cmd prompt and type "adb devices", making sure that you have developers options on

Stock ROM, CWM Recovery
I have ADB from the home screen I have discovered. The drivers seem to be installed fine as the Soju program can get fastboot and adb access the multiple times it checks for it.
Maybe I should try a different Rom? Do you guys have a suggestion?
I just called HTC and asked about the warranty being voided. They said that there is a chance I will be charged. The woman said that if the camera malfunction is because of the motherboard I will be charged.
She said it would be between 200 and 90$ depending on if it is the motherboard or not and if warranty covers it. I pried for details and definites but got none.
So I would love to get the phone back to stock so I don't have to take this chance. Thank you so much.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Uh oh...
Uhh... Does your device take a charge?
Do you have access to another battery if not?
If the computer recognizes that something is plugged in... What does the computer think it is?
Does fastboot find a device?
And any other info that could be relevant... No matter how insignificant
