[Q] OTA update - but will not install "Ivalid software pack"?

Hello
Now there is an OTA update avail. when i go into "Softwareupdate". But the OTA update fails to install???
The update downloads fine. But when it will install i get an error saying "Ugyldig Softwarepakke" in Danish. This is something like "Invalid softwarepack" in english.
So an official OTA update will not install on my optimus 2x.
The version on my phone (both before and after the update) is V10a.
Please see attached images.
I am on stock firmware and on the 3.dk network in Denmark.
Does anybody else have this problem?
And are there any suggestions on how to resolve the issue?
Had the same problem ended up updating by use of computer.
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
As mentioned, you should try updating using LGMobile update application.
Thanks, got it to work trough my PC as suggested. However I still think that it should work over WiFi.
(Now i have v10b - but I have not yet noticed any major differences in that from v10a. So still waiting for 2.3 like everybody else)
1: I have got V10a and can not update through LG‘s mobile updater as it claims my phone is running V10b which is a lie
2: I find it very stupid that you can NOT check for OTA nor download them unless you are on wifi. That's the most stupid thing ever. My HTC would do OTA over mobile data.

1: Only solution for you is to flash the V10b firmware using nvflash. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032896
2. I agree with you.

b329 update and no music app

Hi everybody) A few days ago i updated my branded(vodafone) mate s to CRR-L09C02B329(MM) version, during update i had a fail message and when I restart the phone I found out that the update was installed successfully, but there music app was not installed so now I can't open mp3 files on my Mate S.. If someone else have had the same issue, how you solve it? Can I make downgrade the phone to my stock android 5.1 version by downloading the firmware from officila hghuawei site? I know that I cant flash c432 versions because it's not vodafone... Maby someone has the vodafone 5.1 firmware in this case, I would ask you to share the link with me) Thanks in advance for all xda audience))
Do a hard reset to see if this solves the problem. To find all the available roms for your version download the app firmware finder from play store.
For rollback to 5.1 see here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=66710428

C900 is global firmware and the procedure is the same for all versions. You can flash this and then flash a 5.1 rom with C02. The file has instructions on how to do the rollback.

Yes, you can. Probably this will solve the problem. I suggest you to use the installation method with the three buttons so that to do a clean install. Note that with this method you will lose your data, so make a back-up.

What is the size of the rom file? Did you use the method with the 3 buttons?

So the firmware size was 3Gb, yes I have already tried two procedures with three buttons and from menu by by digitting code #*#*2846579#*#* and selecting software update but nothing changes, yesterday I also looked for lollipop vodafone version, but I could not find anything.. I thought about flash role back c900 from official site and then retry to flash the same Marshmallow version... Can I do that?

I have already seen all roms of firmware finder but there are all OTA versions, and only c02b329 (which is my current version) is FULL. Is it illegal to flash current version over c900?
I have tried to install rollback and then once again c02b329... But after install rollback I didn't have c900b300 as axpected, but still have c02b329 and then reflash same version has no effect) But yesterday I found c02b110 which is an official firmware(lollipop) of vodafone, (if somebody else would need this firmware I will share a link) Can I try to flash this lollipop version just over my current firmware?
Thanks for all your replaies

Whats the latest build # for Huawei P10 VTR-L29?

I just want to confirm i have the latest building number. I have a European model using it in Canada so maybe the updates arent pushing to the phone? Im currently on VTR-L29C636B120
Last for your model and market version is 162
http://hwmt.ru/hwmtsite/firmware-database/?firmware_model=vtr-L29C636&firmware_page=0
I have stock VTR-L29 model, BL locked and b151 is the latest for me.
It lools like we need to wait for some time until new update is available through OTA
For anyone looking to update to L09C432B162 the latest on Firmware Finder, I can confirm I just did it and updated with no problems via proxy. I choose the FullOTA-MF version.
The responsiveness and transition between screens is so much faster than my previous version (B113) that I would recommend everyone to make the jump if you can.

No, if you use Firmware Finder app (download from Google Play store), you can use the official update functionality in your phone settings to get the update.
It tricks Huawei servers that your phone is ready for upgrade to this firmware version. So you are downloading the official firmware file from Huawei, and it should install like a normal OTA update. No data loss, no settings loss.

sorry my fault..i updated to 164 with the full firmware package from the site i mentioned, andf then after first boot i got OTA to 171.
When updating using Firmware Finder FullOTA (in-app proxy), do you need to be fully unrooted (stock kernel and recovery) for this to work?
Asking, because I plan to try this update method from B165 to B172 on my VTR-L29C185 and wondering if this process keeps the user data intact or it means a full reset later regardless ... can anyone confirm user data can be preserved with in-app proxy method? Does the BootLoader stay unlocked too?
EDIT:
all went well as per update itself via in-app proxy detection method ... however had to use FullOTA package to successfully install it and that I think re-locked the bootloader, oh well, at least it worked fine

for L09C432 is the latest B201, for L29C432171 according this site pro-teammt.ru.
But hte update is rolled out on very strange key...some countries have it, some operators don´t .... don´t know. So i always download the latest for my phone L29C432 and flash it trough HWOTA.

I'm not sure how an update installed when you were rooted, that normally doesn't happen. I was going to make a flashable rom today or tomorrow, but if your modem was updated, I'm not sure you'll get service with the older firmware. You may need to change the modem back to the previous version. What firmware version and security patch does it say in settings after the update? You might be better off just flashing the stock firmware with fastboot or RSDlite.
Edit: did you try wiping data of the apps that are giving you trouble?

Taking an update when rooted should definitely fail. Is there any chance you could upload a copy of the OTA update zip, that would be great, because I haven't gotten it yet, and so could make a rom from the updated firmware. You need to flash full stock firmware before attempting to install an OTA update. The update zip should be in the cache folder, either /cache or /data /cache.

Never mind that. I forgot I deleted the ota apk. I got the update now. I'll make a flashable of the original firmware and the newer one after I update. The best way to keep the update notification from popping up is to delete the Motorola ota apk in /system/priv-app by the way.
Edit: Here's where to find the update zip: /data/data/com.motorola.ccc.ota/app_download

I can't make a flashable for everything that is updated, I could, but it's safer to just do it the right way. It would take way longer than it's worth to make a full TWRP flashable firmware. Your better off just taking the OTA or waiting until the newer firmware is out to flash with fastboot. The old and new radio and OEM partitions, and some other things don't play well together.

Yes it will. Who said you can't restore the stock recovery? You need to restore full stock with fastboot or RSDlite to take the update.

I'm uploading a stock rom now. I'll upload flashable of the modem and eom partitions also. Then I'll update and make a stock rom from the newer firmware. I should have links for all of it before the day is over. Watch for a new thread.
Edit: the rom I'm uploading now is untouched for Boost. I'll do Sprint and the retail model next, then I'll make some that are rooted/debloated. I'll need testers for Sprint and retail versions.
Edit-2:
Here's Boost untouched stock. I haven't tested it yet, I'm waiting for my backup to finish to test it now.
Edit-3;
Didn't flash, I think maybe the mount points aren't right. it failed to mount /system. I'll fix it and reupload it.

I got a rom working. I tried making it sparse.dat format but it wouldn't provision data services so I tried set metadata and it works fine. Only problem is the zip is 1.9GB. I'll do what I can to decrease the size so everyone doesn't have to use that much data to download it. I'll post a link as soon as I get it shrunk down and uploaded.

Here's Boost Mobile stock:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745849072291697789
It's not rooted or modified in any way. You'll have to flash a no dmverity zip or just Magisk or it won't boot unless you format data. There's some newer zips here:
https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/
Or, you can flash the f2fs patched kernel recently posted. I'll make debloated and patched kernel versions when I have time.

If anyone is feeling brave, I modified the last Boost Mobile ota update zip and made a partition updater and updated stock rom. What I did was removed all the system, oem and modem patches asserts/checks, added the updated oem.img and modem.img, and the flashable rom for the system update obviously. The updated ROM may not work without updating the partitions with either the zip I made, or by restoring the original firmware with fastboot and taking the official ota update. I know the rom posted above will not work with the updated modem/oem, so I would assume the same will with the new rom and old modem/oem.
Here is the TEST BOOST MOBILE partition updater:

Flash this at your own risk. If this doesn't work, you might have to flash the original firmware with fastboot, so please don't attempt flashing it unless you can restore your phone if something goes wrong. I take no responsibility for anything that might. I have also made Sprint and retail model ROMs and will make a stock ROM thread some time soon when I have time. Let me know how it goes if anyone tries.
Edit: make sure to flash a no-dmverity zip or format data after flashing the ROM or it won't boot. I also successfully restored a TWRP /data backup from the origional rom version to the new version after I updated so you don't have to worry about losing all your data by flashing stock firmware with fastboot to update officially.
Edit-2: I guess nobody was feeling brave. I really wanted to know if the damn thing worked or not so I flashed it. I was already updated but it flashed just fine and didn't brick my phone, so it should work just fine for you all to update the easy way. You'll see a "failed to mount firmware" message at the end, just ignore it.

Would it work with Walmart's prepaid xt1774?

I am not getting the G950USQU2CRB9 OTA update on beta G950USQU2CRA5

Why am I not getting it? I checked for system updates and it says I am already up to date, but everyone is saying Oreo is out now.
I have crc5. So, somehow I have an even newer version. I would guess we need to go back to the last Verizon Android v7 to have the OTA work.
Good to know. Guess I need to find a firmware download for it and flash it manually with odin
