BoRKeD RoM​
Disclaimer: You and you alone are responsible for what you choose to do with your device. I am not responsible for anything that happens to it (unless it does indeed explode into a Giant Ball of Awesomeness, then I'll take full credit ) if you choose to perform the actions suggested in a thread you found on the internet.​
While this started out as a side project, it has (in HUGE thanks to a bunch of awesome talent who have been kind enough to take their time and offer their help and advice) turned into a usable Sense 4.1 ROM. There are still some things to be worked out, and in due time they will be. This started out as a very broken port. ivicask helped out initially getting display and touchscreen working, and he and TeamVenom have played a crucial role in a LOT of the bigger fixes, sportsstar89 came through with the RIL and got the camera launching, and WildChild has come through with even more fixes/features, and has offered to help maintain the ROM.​

BUGS​
- A few have reported call volume is too low, most seem to be fine
- 4x5 Rosie in Landscape isn't pretty - nature of the beast
- 360 Rosie stutters a little from screen 7->1 (Sometimes you have to swipe right twice to get off of screen 7, and you end up on screen 2)
- This isn't a bug, but I'll mention it. If you choose to install Google Now, please get intimately familiar with posts 1 and 2 here (and Post 3 for kicks) before asking any questions/reporting any "problems" with Google Now.​
INSTRUCTIONS​
1. You must have your bootloader unlocked with a custom recovery installed (WCX Recovery tested, approved, and recommended. Cwm and twrp 2.4 3.0 and 2.4.4.0 won't work. Wcx or twrp 2.4.2.0 or older is necessary)
2. Download the ROM .zip from the Downloads section, to either your Internal or SD memory
3. Boot to recovery and wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache, and System
4. Flash ROM .zip
5. Follow Aroma Installer instructions
6. Reboot​
IF YOU ARE S-ON, you need to manually flash boot.img from Fastboot so -​
7. Extract boot.img from ROM .zip to the directory on your computer where fastboot is
8. Boot to bootloader (PWR and Vol- from off state)
9. Select Fastboot
10. Plug your USB cable in and open a command prompt in the same directory you have fastboot
11. Fastboot flash the boot.img (I like to flash it twice, just to be sure)

Note: The first boot takes an EXTREMELY long time. Patience is a MUST. It will sit at the last screen of the bootanimation for what seems like forever. Eventually it will boot to the lockscreen, and you can unlock it and it will display the white HTC splash screen, again for what feels like forever. Eventually it will take you to Setup.​

This is pretty intense man. That's gonna be a lot of work but glad to see it being worked on. From what I have seen the changes from sense 3.6 to 4.1 are not really huge but a lot of people will like this if they don't want jb.

Yup - and I have some ulterior motives as well. I already have access to a great Sense 4.1 ROM, but I like projects that keep me busy and may benefit others. I don't have unlimited free time though, so I'm really hoping for some community involvement in this one..

The menu button can probably be fixed by the keychar/keylayout folders...don't remember the files off the top of my head but that where I fixed the home button for cm10 way back...you'll probably be fine if you just replace the whole folders actually - you may have already tried that though...but its an idea

Its not fixed because we don't know how to fix it. Smali might as well be russian to me.. so without knowing what I'm looking for its like finding a needle in a haystack. If you can find out what they dis to fix the ril I'm happy to give it a shot

no hate intended. I've been pretty sour with him since his "whoever made this app should die" statement this morning in another thread. That kind of stuff bugs me. Some other stuff too, but it's not worth it at this point. Over it. Anyway, let me know what you hear back about the RIL - meantime, you have a link to his thread or whatever? Yes I could find it - but currently trying to keep 4 brats, I mean kids, under control

I've been developing these ROMs aiming to get the most of our HTC Blackstone.
They include full Sense 2.5.2021 and intend to be fast and stable for everyday use.

- Removed MS Marketplace and replaced by Omarket.

Blackstone Swift EDGE
The Swift EDGE is to be considered close to the stock ROMs by HTC.
Essential software is included, and there is very little customization.
It is intended for faster response and best battery life.
Blackstone Premium EDGE
This premium ROM is fully featured and tweaked to get most of your phone.
Includes applications for a full experience with media, internet, social networks and gaming.
Improved appearance and usability.
Blackstone Premium EDGE Slim (new)
Most of programs of the premium are included, but some has been removed to improve battery life and make easier to use.

For best results suggest follow the flashing instructions included on the compressed file.
- Full battery charge before flashing (until you get the green led)
- Use Task29 first (this will format your internal memory) take battery out and go into bootloader again.
- Use task 28 to flash the rom.
- Hard reset is recommended just after first boot (remove battery, place it again and press vol up + vol down + power).

Customize your EDGE ROM
Add ons:
- Enable Media control on Lockscreen: use this cab. Note: This Lockscreen is less memory efficient. Restart is required to work. Note: only valid on Premium V4.3.1 and newer.
- Manila A2DP fix. Allows you to control Manila Music with your BT headsets.

- Snooze Option from here. This will allow you to prostpone reminders different than default 5 minutes. Also change wireless networks notification.
- Enable Autorotation of Sense: use this cab. Warning: normally it wil work ok, but in some cases locking the device when it's in landscape could freeze it. Try avoid locking when in landscape. If freezes, just pull the battery out.
- Manila change language: If you change the registry to get Manila in other language, you also need to install this cab to include the removed files: cab
- Arabic or Persian write: check this post
- Overclocking: use this tool.

Known Issue on the EDGE Rom versions:
During the first start of the device, it may freeze on the white screen or just showing the background.
in order to avoid this problem, please charge your battery fully before flashing.
If you are not able to boot the Rom try hardrest and reflashing and send me a private message.

At first I did task29 and then I upgraded the ROM via cable and again the same problem. Then I tried to upgrade through SD card and without SIM card and then the case is worked fine.

Good Fast ROM

This is a good fast ROM.
Though I had 1 initial setup pblm:- Sense didn't launch automatically after task29 & flash. After a hard reset & a soft reset, it launched.
, I was surprised by how fast & responsive this ROM is.

Customize Action Screen
Hi Ypsmav,
Is it possible for me to customize the Action Screen changing links to apps according to my preference?
For Example:- TomTom instead of GoogleMaps for GPS.

V2.45 and V2.40 both are giving me problems....
I did task29 & hard reset , the ROM is installing fine but when it starts it takes me to select the GSM provider and after that it hangs...
I soft reset it and it doesnt start Manila neither I have a Signal on my phone...
Dunno what is wrong..... I have tried 3 times performing Task29 and after that Task 28..... with SD Card and Without SD Card..
All other roms I have tried Energy and Hyper are working fine...

I manually changed from GSM to 3G and after doing that it launched manila..

hi. i just flashed my hd with that rom ..and i have a question... i might missing something here...
i installed like it says..did the reboot/reset/hard reset things..
but all i get is the main screen, without widget sense.....
i press the windows button, but does nothing, and all menu i see is action menu.
i cant see programs or settings etc etc....
on portrait mode , the windows button action contacts etc is on bottom. is that ok ?
what am i doing wrong here ??? !thanx for help

Hi, I had the same problem, I just did a soft reset and left it for 10mins after that the home screen appeared as well as everything else, this rom works great, I just want to get rid of the RSS feed - regards Paula

I have the same problem as paparaochh - I get the unlock screen which leads to the windows button, etc. but can do nothing except change a few settings - no sense or titianium gui anywhere to be seen.

Is there a recent app removal mod for the pulldown. It's kinda redundant since all you gotta do is hold the home button. When I flash landscape mod it uses a lot of room when I'm in landscape. Any info would be helpful, thanks for the sweet update.
Oh yeah, I did also notice, there are still Sprint remnants in the ROM. WiFi stuff and 4G toggle, etc.

i'm having trouble connecting to my wifi network. during setup i couldn't connect so i bypassed and completed setup. after setting up my google account i when to the wireless setup and tried again. i put in my password and it gets an ip address but then immediately drops it and tries again. looking at my router i see it grab an address and then disappear.
i have never encounter this problem with any previous opt shift roms or any of the other ones i've tried. any ideas?

I had the same problem, no error just wouldn't connect....WiFi works with every other ROM and my ps3 & comp

+1. Tried reloading the rom even downloaded it again and tried it but still was unable to get an IP address from my router. Tried a second router I have just to see if it was just that router and it wouldn't connect to that one either. Have never had this problem with any other rom including the previous releases of OShift.

WiFi is probably broken due to using the kernel from the new leak. It seems to cause problems on anything but the stock ROM.

Music app not reading from emmc. I thought that was fixed. This ROM is so fast. Why did I ever leave. The problems I had with all the other roms don't exist here. Especially, Google voice. Works flawlessly. Thanks for keeping this going wd.

It seems that there is an interesting bug with Lockscreen wallpapers. Every once in a blue moon, your device may do a 'soft-reboot'. I can go into the technical details of why this happens, but basically it comes down to displaying a large 'picture' and Java/Android not correctly cleaning up the references to it, thus creating a memory leak. This is extremely rare it happens, and I've only noticed it happen while the device is NOT being used. If you're concerned, please just remove the lockscreen wallpaper and it will never happen to you. I'm trying to find a way to make this 100% stable.

Known issues:
1) Colors in the panorama picture may not be the same as what you see in viewfinder.
2) Sometimes screen has some garbage while in Panorama mode viewfinder. Quitting completely from the app and restart or invoking Gallery from inside the app and returning back to camera app should mostly fix it.
3) barcode scanner does not work.

Tried it. Love the panoramic cam. I did change the launcher, thought the Apex was choppy but maybe it's just me. Love the fact I have my battery level in % again!

Battery Life is great, last a Day and a half with mild to heavy use. Only force close so far is the gallery for me. Rom even has a power saving options in Rom Toolbox (Can shut off wifi, data, and more when phone is in screen off mode)

Thanks, To clarify. You need to select the account you entered. Once you have done that it shows everything you are syncing, thats where you select menu remove account.

try to do a full reboot. the script should kick in then
if that doesnt work here is a temp fix
download script manager and run this script
extract and copy the attached script to your sd card, run the script using script manager with root enabled. you only need to run it once and it will survive reboots
gonna fully remove it from the next build

As long as it's from the same base you'll probably be fine.
I do it all the time and rarely ever an issue. Once in a great while an app might need a clear data or clear defaults. But I always do a backup just in case.
What ROM are you coming from?
Doing full Data Restore can be worse than just dirty flashing.

Edit: I read through the OP changeling and didn't see the silence camera mod. Do you think you can include that in the future?

I'm probably a less technical user than many. But here's my $.02.
The navigation bar customizations are huge. Once you get used to having a "last app" button there's no going back.
I got non-stop Google Keyboard errors which I worked around by using voice to install Swiftkey. I don't use Google Keyboard anyway because there's no split layout.
The back button goes to Google Now because of the navigation ring. I disabled that too.
I haven't grasped the mystery of how themes behave. There are often subtle differences from one ROM or device to the next. In this case with SUBZ3ER0 I can see the text on my Gmail widget and in Google Voice where often it's black-on-black. I have no idea if that's because of some deliberate change, but if so that's great. (And if it's not, it's still great.)
I recently switched from an Xperia tablet Z and was missing a lot of the customizations. (On the bright side I've been wasting less time constantly flashing different ROMs.) This is very nice.

Thanks for the feedback, I will try to address theme over the next week. I think we need some overlays for this tab DPI
In the meantime, you can adjust the navi bar size in Settings/Interface

For me, adb over wireless crashes settings. Using rom toolbox pro instead. So far so good otherwise.

Sorry, poor word choice. I meant that the navigation bar customizations are "huge" in the sense that they are very significant, very helpful. There isn't anything abnormal about their size. It took a while for that to click before I realized my miscommunication.

It's been great for several days. I was getting random crashes on various apps on 4.4.2, sometimes a bunch at once, but it hasn't happened in the past few days. I need to stop being lazy and read about how to save log files and what to do with them. There are other variables. I was using ART and using a lower resolution. Either way it would take a whole lot of crashes to negate the huge benefit of the last app nav bar button. It's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Better than that. I'd rather tear my bread apart and eat it in chunks than lose my last app button.
