(Q) Notification bar shortcuts - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Is there any way to customise the notification bar shortcuts or hide them completely? I might be being dumb but can't find any options whatsoever...

Anyone?

There's always a way. But it depends on what precisely you want to do.
If you want to change their appearance, that's quite simple. If you want to change what shortcuts or toggles are there, that involves smali and is a bit more complicated.

Have you Tickled Your Android lately?

I'd love to get rid of them as I find them useless... don't think there's a way of doing that on stock/non-root rom thogh

No, you have to root. But rooting's worth the effort, it really is!

[Q] Ics lockscreen native install

Is there anyway to install the Ics lockscreen natively on our phone? I mean, no apps running on the background?

No apps running on the background during the installation of the ICS Lockscreen?
And do you have a ICS lockscreen to install? Or are you searching for one?
Please be more specific ^^
I want to know if there's one available to replace the original one. Without using apps to do so. The one that looks like the Hc one. The circles thing I mean.

Ah like that, no it has not yet been made for the i9001 unfortunately.
Ok.
You saved me a lot of searching.
I guess we have to wait then
Thanks anyway
Any good soul willing to put some effort int it and make one?
i would if i had any idea how to do it.

Manually Edit the Status Bar

Hi everyone,
I've been doing some searching, on here and Google, on changing the location of itemes on the status bar e.g. the signal status icon, but I haven't yielded any results. Is there an app that lets you do this manually or will it be a case of finding a mod with the locations of the icons I want?
Thanks in advance!

It's not doable with an app, the framework needs to be recompiled for that (and it's not an easy task since there are many layout dependencies), ergo you need a mod.

Notifications.

Hey guys, I think this is a pretty simple question but I can't figure it out. Is there a way to disable the notifications at the top? I'm using floating notifications and while using that I get the pop up
And also the stock notification I suppose. Anyway there is no need for two, and I just can't seem to figure our out.
Thanks for the help guys, appreciate it.

Yea the status bar is what I meant. Do you know if it's an easy process? I'm no expert, but I can follow instructions.

Typically you have to turn off notifications in each individual app that is giving you notifications. Go to the app settings and uncheck notifications is typically all it takes. Rarely is there a way to stop all notifications phone wide in one location.

[Q] phablet (?) ui with just root? (statusbar on bottom)

I think I can live with the stock rom and the locked bootloader if I can just get my ui back how I like it with the statusbar on bottom, soft keys on the left and clock and notifications on the right. Can this be achieved with just root? Maybe with xposed? Ever since my daughter was born I don't have much time to play with my toys anymore unfortunately.
Thanks in advance
+1
Bump with hopes recent development may be able to help with achieving this. Will gladly donate to anyone who can provide this. Thanks everyone and happy new year

Also I should add since we have safe strap ignore the "with just root" in thread title

[Q] Launcher with home button?

Greetings,
Looking to add a launcher to my stock hd+... are there any that would add the android home row to the bottom that way I can stop using the "n" buttom? Thanks to all suggestions.
I don't think what you are looking for is a launcher. You are basically looking for an installable navigation bar. I don't think one exists for non-rooted devices. But I haven't exactly searched either.

Exactly, pretty much I'm looking for the standard navigation bar with "back" and "home" although I'm not sure thats what they are called. But do you know of one for "rooted" devices?
Well, if you root you can install the CyanogenMod operating system which will give you what you are looking for. Check the Development thread.

This isn't exactly what you are looking for but it would help you eliminate the need to use the "n" button. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2659919

Update
Sorry for the late reply but in the end I went with Ultimate Nav Bar... It isnt a launcher but does just what I need it to. Thanks for the suggestions.
