I don't know what u guys r talking about.... I think it's amazing
My personal and school email are set to push through settings, constant whatsapp and text messaging, some phone calls, little bit of gaming here and there and one Google search for today
Idk how it actually manages the push syncing but this is the most battery I have seen on my device

Same here after 2 days it really seems to be getting better now
I swear if you are talking about the first time you use It i'm going to hurt someone... It stays awake till a certain percentage then it will say its complete and it wont stay awake much after that.
If you want the same functionality... but actually know what its doing and not have it be magic... I'd recommend tasker or llama

I have disabled HTC Sense sync for about 2 weeks now and found the battery last much longer. I suspect this service drains so much power because it takes more than 10 minutes to complete.
If your battery drains abnormally, you may like to disable and see if it helps.

No offense itandy, but that goes without saying for ANYTHING running in the background... it will eat up battery since it is using the processor.. RAM etc !

None taken. But what I'm saying is no regular sync process should take that long to complete and consume that among of precious power from our phone on a regular basis.

definitely something to watch out for unless u have a charger handy or on an unlimited data plan

Yes, I charge my phone every night, though it's still about 40% at that moment.

It depends on your sync frequency and how much content you choose to sync, really
Does the screen really eat up that much battery? I do keep my screen on a lot from texting to social networks. Would a deferent kernel possible ease the screen usage or is that how much power the screen consumes with a pretty good amount of usage?
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda app-developers app
Yes ,
I turn auto off and run it about a 1/3 of the way and in the dark I turn it even Lower sometimes and the batt seems ok ,
If I was constantly doing stuff on the phone at that rate I get a good 3-3 1/2 hr and Im talking actually sitting with the phone on and doing constant stuff for that long .
Thanks for asking - I find that my display battery usage is just as high!
I'll have to try the auto off. Auto dim doesn't seem to work that good. I guess ill experiment after work with a different kernel and see if its any better this morning. Thanks for confirming

Definitely getting great battery on the Pegasus ROM. I've found turning off you data when not using it effectively doubles my battery life. But then again I'm in an LTE area so that burns it up like you wouldn't believe when it's on and being used.

I have no idea what you guys do with your phones to complain about battery life...
Im in an LTE and use my phone moderately heavy - my phone gets my through the day (about 12 hours) no problem...and I can't complain with that
You gotta remember our phones are pretty much tiny laptops. Laptops only have about 4-6 hour battery life's...sure they're a lot bigger so they consume more power...but they also have a much larger battery...so when you scale it down to vivid size, battery life is on par with what a laptop would be
Just food for thought...my work break is over...so back to work for me :/

Airplane mode (I dont care what anyone says) has ALWAYS killed my battery. Try not using it... Might help. I get about 8-12 hour days on my phone and i use it constantly. using data and syncing and playing games... Just gotta set your phone up right
I could always average 12-15 hours with average use. That would consist of snapchatting, temple run, and twitter, I don't know how you would only get 4 hours...

i barely, and i mean BARELY make it through school if i do that. Im pretty sure i have a bad battery though, just dont feel like returning my phone to stock and stuff just so they can look at it. but a bit of temple run is okay for me, but Angry Birds Star Wars hits my battery alot harder. And Black Ops Zombies murders it. even though the controls suck. but yeah black ops zombies is a 3D game
Do you have it currently installed? Because it constantly runs in the background killing your battery.... when I had my phone would last 6 hours till it died. Might be your problem

Not just google apps. All applications that can sync (Tumblr, Twitter, Etc.)
Even if it was google apps... Usually those are the reasons for my battery dying Hence why I keep gmaps disabled

I mean I get it! I'm not trying to poke fun at him or anyone trying to get as much battery life of their phones as possible. I'm just curious as to why the obsession if you don't need it.
Hell, I'm guilty of something similiar... every HTC One I get my hands on, I go to MYHOIAN's ebay site and try to get it SIM unlocked. Why? I'm not travelling overseas any time soon or jumping GSM carriers here in the States. ... I just want it unlocked! And... $3.50, really, can't beat that price.
Yea me to buddy wish we didn't have to worry about unlocking and batteryife that be a perfect world

I have a T-Mobile phone so it does have a Wi-fi calling for home.
If I do use the phone it is with the WCDMA only... This was with heavy internet usage for work purposes with email sending. Also taking an average of 150+ Photos.

I got my phone on the weekend, and finally hit 5 hours for the first time yesterday. I was playing music, browsing the internet, using WiFi and mobile data, and played a game for a little while. I almost didn't believe it when I saw it. I am very satisfied.
I think the app that got me there was Lux. It's a smart-dimming app that adjusts your screen brightness. You can also set what % you want your screen at for certain background light levels. I really like it.
Anyway, can't think of anything else I did to get that result. Much much much better than the One X.

Makes no sense to disabled data, sync, and other features of a smartphone

This is true I have done this and I get 5 hours screen time after surfing the net and streaming music using mp3 player half day wifi other lte...I am on the latest release .16r also turn of location in google now ...hibernation of maps is key and location in now...now request location from map=drain...only use maps when u need it..the location off in google now does not affect weather btw
Edit I also have power saver on but disabled the powersave for the screen(hate a dim screen) like I said 50% brightness

I have a question about Wi-Fi calling too. Does it save battery compared to not using it?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I don't know how you're not getting such screen on time, to be honest. It's obviously dependant on what your usage is like while using your phone.
With me on stock kernel, if I'm just browsing around XDA or the internet I'll get around 8 hours screen on time (at least from how long it seems. I haven't confirmed and actual length of time so it could be less or more). Whereas if I'm playing Shadowgun Deadzone constantly, I can still get around 5 hours screen on time with 4 hours constant play of it.
If I remember, I'll get some actual proof of my stats over the next few days.
Dont worry about it. Even I get about 4 hours only. This is with 25% backlight indoors and 75% outdoors and heavy regular use. We dont have wifi calling or anything like that here. It is on 3G HSPA+ network and I get just above 4 hours of on screen time till battery goes below 10%. Lot of people disable lots of stuff like automatic syncing and turn the brightness all the way down. I dont do any of that. My gmail, twitter, drive, G+, Pulse, Hangout are all running in background syncing and doing their stuff (the only thing I have done is to tell G+ to upload only on wifi ).
7hrs screen time is easily achievable on this phone with 12hrs + uptime.
Theres a dedicated thread on this already if u wanna go read how guys are setting their phones for this.
My use is as follows to get 7hrs...
*Wifi only browsing (no mobile data)
*Auto brightness during the day and low at night.
*Eliminate as much wakelocks as possible by not using auto syncs in apps etc.
*I'm rooted so i use "Greenify" to make sure apps go into hibernation after I close them.
*I use Titanium backup to freeze bloat ware I don't use.
Apps such as Skype, Facebook, Viber etc etc are Known drainers so keep an eye on them if u use them.
There prob more that I can't think if right now but with the above set up, you will easily get between 5-8 hours screen on time.

Hello folks. Firstly I need to clarify I am in Australia and it's summer so it is damn hot here.
When I use GPS Google maps nav it only takes a 15 minute trip and the phone is so hor it almost hurts to touch the phone. I run it 24/7 underclocked with elementalx kernel at 1.2ghz with super cool profile.
Thing is I have experimented with very low clocks during GPS and I have found 600mhz or 594 to be exact is the lowest I can go where Google maps still functions ok and the phone doesn't burn up but still reaches up to 45c.
Is there any thing else I can do ?
