The Dark Jelly 2X Edition is a Custom Rom based on my Unofficial CM10 Build.
Note:
This Rom is ONLY for the old bootloader!
For an easier, more comfortable, and customizable installation, I use the Aroma-Installer by Amarullz,
which allows a graphical Touch-Installation.
For an easier, and more comfortable updating, the OTA Dark Jelly 2X Edition Update function is included,
I use the UpdateMe App from acquariusoft for OTA updates

Anybody running this? Reviews?
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda app-developers app

I've been using this ROM since yesterday. And it's pretty good in my opinion. Very fast, smooth and it looks good. But there are two problems I have. The battery life isn't good, I used my phone from 100% to 10% and it drained about 9% per hour on average usage. Also the Wi-Fi sometimes acts weird. It sometimes randomly disconnects and sometimes I can't scan for APs.

Thanks for your feedback,
glad you like the rom,
it seems the battery drain is a bit more than in the previous build, (I didn`t released it, it was only for testing).
But I don`t notice wifi disconecting problems or problems to scan APs.
BTW, you are the first who confirmed the rom is booting,
in another forum some users reporting bootloops,
so my question is,
did you changed anything on the device, like increase the system partition ore something else?
How did you installed the rom?
- Full-Wipe or Non-Wipe,
- from which rom did you installed,
, have you done something spacial, (like installing a patch, or ...)?

Re: [Rom][CM10][Old BL][Mar03] Dark Jelly 2X Edition Build 1
Hi,
I used this tool before I installed Dark Jelly 2x: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975274
It installs CM10 after the process. I did a factory reset (in twrp) before installing this ROM and nothing more.
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda app-developers app

Thanks,
it seems it could depends on the tool, (but I don`t know, because I can`t remebmer if i used it in the past, or not)
or the rom is only working comming from a CM based rom, (if so, I really don`t know why, )

The Dark Jelly 2X Edition update to Build 2 is available,
Changelog:

No, if you came from owain`s 79 or 80, you should do a Full-Wipe, but as written at Known Bugs, Full-Wipe results in a bootloop (for me),
in this case you have to flash (Full-Wipe) owain`s 78, Nova HD Rebuild, or my Unofficial CM9 Build first, and then flash Dark Ice Edition (Non-Wipe)

As I wrote in AOKP 4X lockscreen Threat, I don`t plan to include it, but thought about it, and atm i prefer the CM10 lockscreen,
I don`t know, I`ll take a look at both.
LG UI 3.0 Launcher is a system launcher, get the apk and themes from Nova HD Rebuild, put the launcher to /system/app, set permission to rw, r, r
install the Themes, (or not, as you like), reboot phone, at start you can choose your prefered launcher,

How to easily provide a logcat:
The best way is through adb shell...it's very easy, nothing difficult.
Assuming you are using windows...
You need to install JDK and SDK first.
Install SDK in your desktop
Rename the folder "android-sdk" to only "sdk"
Move the new sdk folder to c:\
Through your sdk folder choose SDK Manager in order to install the platform-tools (choose only platform-tools, nothing else needed for now)
you are ready to logcat!
Now open a command promt (In the Start Menu search box area type cmd and press Enter)
connect via USB your phone
cd .. to move to c:\
now cd to your c:\sdk\platform-tools folder and type
Code:
adb logcat
better use is through options:
Code:
adb logcat *:E -v long
*:E shows only errors in output
-v long its for a more easy to read output
you can send you log to a text file using
Code:
adb logcat *:E -v long > "drag your .txt file in your promt windows"
CTRL+C to block logcat output
It's important to start the "log to text" immediately before reproducing your issue and to stop with CTRL+C a few seconds after
I mean...cd to your platform tool and type
Code:
adb logcat *:E -v long > "drag your .txt file here"
Assuming you have a force close using callrecorder.apk
hit Enter and immediately start callrecorder apk (or push the button inside the application that broke things), 2/3 second after CTRL+C
To dig more into options, or if something it's not clear enough for you...->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1378491
For a more complete guide on how to use Adb use this link and thanks Voku1987!!
Special sdwatcher binary (since v. 1.7)

The Dark Jelly N4 Edition is a Custom Rom based on my Unofficial CM10.1 Build.
For an easier, more comfortable, and customizable installation, I use the Aroma-Installer by Amarullz,
which allows a graphical Touch-Installation.
For an easier, and more comfortable updating, the OTA Dark Jelly S Edition Update function is included,
I use the UpdateMe App from acquariusoft for OTA updates
Since Build 27 OpenPDroid is included.
OpenPDroid, (by FFU5y), is the privacy protection framework, (an extension of Syvat's PDroid).
For including the OpenPDroid Patch I use the Auto-Patcher, (by pastime1971 and mateorod).

EDIT: NVM I can see them now. This looks great. I think I'll give it a try.
Thanks!
You are wellcome
The only thing that I just can't seem to understand, is why CM10.1 includes their set of notification toggles along with the toggles included in stock 4.2.1. It just seems so redundant to me and has been the one thing keeping me away from CM10.1 ROMs.

Sn0army, you don't have to enable the CM toggles if you don't want to. You can leave them disabled and just use the customizable quick settings instead. That's what I did.

One thing I'm going to like about this ROM are the availability of options in aroma. Awesome
Swagged out of my NeXus⁴ using XDA Premium
Nice looking ROM, but I don't see any option to customize the navigation bar..
"added customized softkeys" is not what i thought?
Sorry for misunderstanding, I'll change it, to make clear, (ATM) there is no option to customize the softkeys, and it's (only) replaced.

Also, if anyone wants to change the soft keys they could always head over to aticus's thread in the Themes and Apps section and choose one of the many soft keys he offers.

Thanks, but from what I've read if the ROM doesn't support a customable nav bar, only three icons are going to appear..
Great Rom thanks!

About New Experience Jelly Bean Special Edition:
Guys..do not ask the differences between the 10.1 version and the Special Edition, read the changelog.
New Experience Jelly Bean Special Edition is the rom for those like me love default ics-jb theme (this rom does not need of any apk ics-jb theme...it is system themed...)
If you like to change always theme at your mini, use New Experience v9.x.x
==============================
Basic instructions for use this rom.
===============================
For use my rom, you must start of 2.3.4 Android version (or high)..You can download this firmware S5570XWKTN and flash with odin following THIS guide.
Installations of Recovery 5.2.0.8 by Squadzone
----------------------------------------------------------
If you start from stock firmware 2.3.4 or 2.3.6, you can install the cwm following
THIS guide
If you just have a custom recovery (cwm 4 or rz), you can download THIS zip and flash from recovery for update at version 5.2.0.8
Sdcard partition
------------------------------
For best use of this rom..you must have a ext partition:
- Go in ricovery mode;
- Select "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition";
- Select "advanced" and "wipe dalvik cache";
- Now Select "advanced" and after "Partition SD Card"
- Choose ext4 format label..assign 512 mb at partition and 0 (zero) at swap
- Go back and make all wipe ("wipe data/factory reset", "wipe cache partition" e wipe dalvik cache")
Flashing ROM
-----------------------
- Go in recovery mode;
- Make all wipe ("wipe data/factory reset", "wipe cache partition" e wipe dalvik cache");
- Select "install zip from sd card" and after "choose zip from sd card";
- Select my rom and wait end of procedure;
- Now Select: "reboot system now";
- First boot requires long time (up to 10 minutes)..all normal.
Flashing English Settings
-----------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Select "mount system"
- Go back;
- Select "install zip from sd card" and after "choose zip from sd card";
- Select desired zip and flash;
- "reboot system now".
===========================
First boot and first steps
=========================
Bug and known Issues
----------------------------------------
1. When the Tablet settings you select "status bar at the bottom" .. this just goes down but the power widget, clock and settings button remain on top;
How to use odex script builtin
---------------------------------------------
The rom is yet odexed...this script is useful when you add some apps in system\app folder..if you not add..ignore it
1. Open terminal emulator app and type: "su" and give superuser permissions;
2. Type "dexo -h" and read options.
Airplane Mode
------------------
When you first start, you will find in Airplane mode: normal, that's a feature that I wanted to integrate for those who-like me-do not have a data plan and want to avoid losing money with automatic connection.
Adding Google Account
-----------------------------
The Google Account must be entered ONLY from this route: Settings\ Accounts & sync \ Add Account.
S2E
-----
IMPORTANT:Recommended settings_
- Open s2e application, and give root permissions;
- In the application select ONLY: "Applications", "Private Applications",;
- Not select "cache di download"...may cause problems with Play Store;
- Select "Dalvik Cache" and "Applications data" only if you have a good sdcard
Using Titanium Backup
---------------------------
Titanium should be used in an intelligent way: no integration of Dalvik cache, no recovery of system applications, no recovery of accounts and access points.

I love your rom and I have just flashed it :d very smooth and fast as usual!
but in fact I don't like center clock in statusbar so I flashed the "Alternative Statusbar" file, then the UI changed, seems it revert to stock UI. So how to get the default UI like in your screenshot back? ^^

You can't use patch of v9.0.0 for Special edition
For restore back SystemUI.apk of Special edition..extraxt it from zip of rom and put (drop) in a patch for alternative statubar of v9.0.0 and flash it via cwm
Or with root explorer put SystemUI.apk from Special edition to system\app folder..

No/bad Wlan connection with some AVM Fritzboxes:
With the included kernel, I can get no connection to my fritzbox,
only solution is to install a custom kernel:

Semaphore, (j version)
(There might be others, that are working, too,
but I only know this 2 which are working fine for me)

If you already installed the rom without uninstalling the light version,
and the app won`t be shown in the app drawer:

Included user (g)apps:
If you want to switch from dark (g)apps to light (g)apps or vice versa,

For updating via Play Store::
Install the app via Play Store, (this will always be the light version)

So i have to do a full wipe coming from your previous 10.1 rom? I have my phone exactly as I want it. Installing the rom over won't work at all?
You can try a Non-Wipe, I used a Non-Wipe on my first Testbuild installation comming from my CM10.1 version,
but it`s allways better to do a Full-Wipe while upgrading to a new Android version.
BTW, if you want to go back to CM10.1 you have to use a Full-Wipe or recover a backup, a Non-Wipe will result in a bootloop.
Very nice rom loving it

Thank's for the rom and keep your hard work!
No sound on calls?
I can make and receive calls but I don't get any sound on them either way. No one can hear me and I cant hear them. I did a clean install coming from 4.2.2 and Ive tried re-booting and re-installing. I like this rom, I don't want to keep flashing. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hey mmaser26,
Never heard about this issue, but more infos about your phone would be great
Which baseband (radio) are you running with?
Which Kernel?
If you running an older baseband than .83 you could test the .84 (newest) baseband, maybe it solves the problem.

I guess the shortcut feature is a little bit buggy atm, i don`t get a FC, (but didn`t tried to set an activity),
I can`t change/delete shortcuts, (also unofficial builds have this issue).

Also some users in a german forum reported this issue,
I use an alternative launcher, all my apps in folders are present after many reboots/Non-Wipe installations,
so I guess it`s a problem of Treuchet

I can remember this problem from the beginning of CM10.2, (the first build), but it`s already fixed,
I never got this issue with any of my 28 Testbuilds, and the release version as well.
After doing a full wipe and installing the rom i'm getting this error. Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped. Could the franco kernel interfere with it. I didnt see a setting like previous versions that allowed me to decide what to do with the kernel.
