Have you tried with the cable? Its funny coz there are some options that i dont understand. See the pics in the attacment. There is a option to import contacts fromusb storage and the other pic from the root exsplorer app under storage there are som usb drive selections? So could it be that theres support for USB OTG?

I tested it with an USB OTG cable and it didn't work...
I tried a couple of times with two USB sticks, one formatted FAT and the other one NTFS. I also installed chainfire's Stick Mount app but that didn't help either.
Here's what USB Host Diagnostics (another one of chainfire's apps) displayed:
I really hope it's just a software-side regulation which can be modified...
Else why would the usb folders be there in mnt (and the options to import)?
I think you need the kernel sources to build the USB otg kernel module and load it through terminal using "insmod" or as a init.d script.

any solutions for this problem with samsung galaxy s3 mini and otg i have the same problem
I agree with pitchblack. Tried a USB OTG cable and it didn't work. It might need a modded kernel like Pitchblack said

The support for it is in the rom, but like you said probably not enabled in the kernel.
How to enable yhis fuction in kernel
I haven't received this device yet . Next week I'll receive this device and after that I'll try and build kernel modules for this device using the open source kernel source code.
I myself have no experience in building kernel modules but I know the procedure. Just search about building kernel modules from source and you'll definitely get a clear picture about how to build it from source and for any assistance PM me and let's learn together

Can anyone tell me what ".ko" files are present in "/lib" and "/system/lib/modules" ?

There is no .ko modules in system/lib/modules, there's no modules folder at all, and in lib/modules:

You need usb.ko module in there to mount your USB flash drive . That can be compiled using the kernel source.

Does someone find a solution for usb otg kernel
UMS doesn`t work on our devices? Can anyone answer? Thanks!

I got it working in my gt-i8190.
I add below line under permissions inside handheld_core_hardware.xml
<feature name="android.hardware.usb.host" />
The file is located inside /system/etc/permissions folder.
After that, I restart the phone and tested the OTG cable with usb stick and nothing happens.
Then I tried to install Usb Host Controller app and tested again and viola! It's working!
I don't know which of the two procedures has caused the device to work but I tried already in the past to install
the app and nothing happens. Also the OTG helper was still installed in my phone.
I will try to figure it out tomorrow but I'm happy right now..
My phone now can read usb stick and also the usb mouse is working!
I use Nexus USB app to read usb storage files.
I tried adding a second bootloader and now its stuck at a orange screen. What dies that mean? Any help is appreciated
You didnt flash the 7.2.3 uboot file before flashing twrp.
Read Hashcode's thread throughly and you will really need a fastboot cable

Oops. I meant I have no factory cable.. or are they the same? Lol im new to the Kindle..
Sent from my Provisioned Galaxy S Blaze
A factory(fastboot) cable puts the device on fastboot mode. And the cable Amazon provided is different, its only for charging and data transfer

You can make one..if you happen to have a Samsung cable, or you are willing to take apart your kindle I assume you could manually short some pins

So I've been flashing kernels from other omap 4 devices (cube, x3 etc.)
They seem to work. s3c is gone but still says device might not support it. Someone try with the eternity kernel for x3 ? I'm waiting on
Otg cable. Otg is drffinately within our reach. There is one room that only works on gb v20p. but the link its dead.. Lol

hi, but you think it is hardware problem or just wait for the Rom.
To use otg on our device you need a modded kernal with otg support
Sent from my Amazon Tate using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
And a power supply to give the device enough power to run, I'm pretty sure this is why hashcode disabled it because it is impractical to have otg enabled if you need an external power source to power it.

hello, this is right, but the need to have more space for your data when wifi is not working is a really unpleasant limit.
which existing kernel to make this work
