[Q] Whatsapp/recording/music problems

Hello you Masters!
First of all, HI! My name is Luis, im from Vzla (South America for those that have never look at a map), this is my hmm... third day with a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, first time using Android (had a BB but well lets say I dropped it and got tired of BB platform so WELCOME ANDROID!) I will be checking and using this forum from now on since is the best site to check for any information regarding my X8 and i will be glad to be an active member of this community so pleeease excuse me for being a noob and for my very very bad english.
Now, Thx to this site I managed to root my phone and install a new launcher (yaay im a pro xD) BUT there are a lot of things i dont know how to do and theres particulary one that makes me go mad, my music library contains not only the music I download but also EVERY SINGLE voice note y send/receive using WhatsApp and I dont like this, so is there any way to change the folder where those voicenotes will be saved so they dont merger with my music? It´s very annoying to be listening to music and suddenly a wild sexy voicenote from my girlfriend appears while my phone is plugged to an Stereo and all my family is listening... Yes, it happened...
OH! and the other thing is "can I make my phone to turn off the screen after 1 minute BUT without it being blocked? so i can just press a butttom to make it come to life again without needing to unlock it again? something like i just want it to lock ONLY if i press the top buttom"

Hello. Welcome to xda
Stock player don't have option to set a library folders. I love PowerAmp, which is the best player in my opinion (it's free for 14 days). It has such option, so it's quite handy.
And few words about lockscreen. In custom ROMs such as GingerDX or MiniCM you'll find CyanogenMod Settings with many cool tweaks. You should try it, your phone will be fast as hell

Download 'No Lock' from the Market and disable the lockscreen when you want to prrss a button

@Irish: in a few words I LOVE YOU! that locked damn thing was driving me crazy. No Lock was the solution!
Any other "totally free" music app you would reccomend?

[Q] whatsapp push notifications dont work

HI guys
Im new to the SGS and so far loving it, except one annoying issue. my whatsapp push notifications do not work. Everything worked on the stock GB rom, then i moved to ICS WEUI rom, i think most of the time i got whatsapp notifications and then it stopped. I dont think ive done something the mess with it. in the past 2 days i flashed 5 different ROMs and i cant get these notifications to work. now im on Slim 3.5 (with its default kernel) and i been threw every setting in the rom and still nothing. BTW, gmail notification work all the time, no problem there.
This is the current setup:
android: 4.0.4
base band: I9000XXJVU
kernel: [email protected]#1
build number: 3.5
Under the Accounts & sync the whatsapp is checked.

I used to have that "bug" on my i9000 WeUI Phone and now its the same on my new Galaxy Nexus running official MIUI v4...
I think it is a whatsapp-problem and hope they can fix it soon

Is a problem of the rom. I use TsunamICS 1.9 AOKP Milestone5, and whatsapp working very well..

I think un.droid should have explained the bug a lil more detailed..
Its basically that:
Whatsapp running in background -> Push Notifications are working fine!
Whatsapp running in background and cleared from RAM -> Push Notifications are working fine!
Whatsapp stopped by FORCECLOSE etc.. -> Push Notifications are not working and Whatsapp wont revoke itself till you start it again!
And sometimes Whatsapp closes it self after a while of not being used...
So if you leave your phone untouched for a couple of hours the app closes and you wont get any message!

I'm using miui 2.5.11 on SG2, same problem.
the only way i can get messages from people is when i open whatsapp, then i can see i have missed allot of messages.
it is very annoying...

Any specific answer? My whatsapp also failed to push message thru on Samsung I9100. Weird. I still dunno if its rom's fault or app's fault.

Hello developers.
I am using my n7000 with the latest stock rom, but there are many issues with it. It starts with a lot of problems with my bluetooth car radio:
- sometimes it is connecting automaticaly and sometimes not, sometimes just with phone, sometimes with an call and playing the audio via call
-i cannot disable the stock mp3 player (i want to use mortplayer ) :-\
-the mp3 players and video players can sometimes not play any file :-\ i have to reboot
-sometimes apps are crashing and so on
It is the worst experience i have with android so far :-\
Maybe anyone have a solution for these issues, if not maybe some can propose another rom that works without these errors.
Important are in this case :
-full landscape support even in the first screens
-android 4 or higher
- fast an safe
- energy saving
- with all of the n7000 spen features
Maybe with an working instruction to flash this rom

Hi there, if you like the Stock feel there are a number or ROMs which have Stock functionality with better overall performance. Criskelo ROM and Chrack ROM are 2 excellent examples.
If you need help rooting your device, read this - http://rootgalaxynote.com/category/galaxy-note-root/
It has a video tutorial which I found to be excellent.
Criskelo and Chrack (I prefer Chrack ROM personally) are both excellent and should restore your faith in Android.

[Q] HTC One (o2 Germany branding) on Paranoid Android 3.99 RC 2

Hey people. So since I have not found anything usefull with the search function I'm going to make this thread. And hopefully got my problem solved.
So I'm on Paranoid Android 3.99 RC2 with stock Kernel and have a problem with the Phablet mode on my device. If activated the status bar on the top is in conflict with the rest of the Interace. What I mean is, that the status bar has an overlay on top of the rest of the system and cuts the top of the apps. Is there a chance to solve this? PIE mode is not a usefull option for me in this case.
If you need any more information just tell me.

Slow keyboard responsiveness.
Ive been using this ROM since monday. I just noticed, when I installed XPosed framework, my keyboard's responsiveness got bad(Google Keyboard). Whenever I press uppercase or symbols tab, it takes around 1-2 secs before it responds. But BAIDU KB works fine then. Any solution? Thanks

I updated to this weeks version and my phone doesn't stop saying "Unfortunately, Download Manager has stopped", does anyone know how I could fix that?
Edit : It's because I still installed the GP Fix while it wasn't necessary, problem solved

The only working without any problems MIUI6 for SGS3 so far. Rock stable, smooth, great battery life out of the box. Kudos to gtbluesky!

Hi,
I'm having one problem with message notification volume : it is always very loud, even if a low volume is set for calls&notifications.
Using a playstore volume app does not seem to help, nor using Mi-Tools tweak (but it's not surprising, it should not work with MIUI 7)
Maybe i simply did not find where to set the messages volume, if someone knows a way...
One other little problem : how can i sort app folders alphabetically ?
