Hi!
Just bought Privacy Suite ( http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-android-privacysuite-qjz.aspx ) but it does not seem to work at all on HTC Hero. Does anyone know any solution or similar app?
Maintain privacy of your contacts. Communicate privately with selected contacts. Calls received from selected contacts have message/caller logs password protected. SMS messages and CALL logs are also securely stored.
1. Store contacts privately
2. Privately send/receive sms
3. Privately make calls and receive calls

i dont like the default one, it only shows me the:
name, number and the day.
BUT not:
the call duration
the time of the calls
and there is no option, where i can see the total incoming/outgoing time (like my "old" nokia e51)
go into the contact, then go the left until you are in call list, there is everything.

yes it does,
when you click on phone, go to Menu and select "Call Log", then click on the right icon (which shows a phone on a paper) and then you have all the detail log

i know that, but i have to click at every calls to get the detail informations like the time and duration of them.
I want some app, which can do this without extra clicks.
an app, just shows all my calls with details like the time and duration.
any good apps for me?
I use Call log live folder. It's free on the market.
Call Log Live Folder is nice, but it only shows the same info as the Hero's built-in call log (i.e. the time is missing from yesterday's and older calls).
The information is available, as PAW server can display the times (albeit with a bug of its own at the moment: for callers/callees missing from the phone book the phone numbers are not shown). Of course, PAW server is a bit overkill if you only want to have a complete call log.
Hi,
I'm also having trouble in adjusting with the limitations in the android OS.
I used Phonalyzer, but to my dissapointment it was limited to 500 calls/month... and when I asked the developer he said it was an android limitation.
Does anybody no a way to extend this limitation to, let's say, 1000calls/per month?
I didn't try Call Log Calendar, but maybe it would be useful for you. It saves all calls to a Google Calendar, and from there you can export the calls as XML, ICAL or HTML (and of course you can also use the search functions in Google Calendar).

Is there an app for windows phone that actually sends the scheduled texts automatically? I've searched for a while and noticed some old windows mobile apps that do, while the winphone ones only remind you to send those sms.
Regards
tiramisufan
EDIT:
Came across this piece of news "OnTime SMSer App is used to send SMS at the scheduled Date and Time.
NOTE: Windows Phone does not allow you to send sms "directly" or "silently" from app. Hence on scheduled Date and Time a reminder would pop up giving the user the option to send the message or not."
Is this really the case here? the OS is preventing the automatic sms sending?

Yep. At least there's no public API allowing sending of SMS, OEMs might be able to do it but no one did so far. The only thing apps can do is open a new compose message window with a recipient and text, you still have to click send manually.

Yeah. The APIs exist (obviously) but they're private, and they require private app capabilities to use. Microsoft wouldn't allow third-party apps to use those capabilities even if they could access the relevant APIs.
I've thought about writing a homebrew app to try messing with SMS just for fun, but there's so many more promising avenues of hacking available that I'm not likely to have the time to do that for a good while unless there's some urgent reason why it's needed.
**Updated 5/27/2017**
After installing this profile GH will alert you of missed calls and unread text messages, including the name or ph# of the caller or sender, every 5 minutes.
1. Download and install Tasker and sign up and download AutoCast BETA (you will need the full paid version). Also download the Missed_Call_Reminder.prf.xml and Unread_Message_Reminder.prf.xml
2. Once you have received the AutoCast BETA update via the Play Store, open the app, select "Manage Cast Devices," press +, then select your Google Home.
3. Place the Missed Call and Unread Message Reminder xml files from Step 1 into the Tasker/profiles folder (if the folder does not exist, create it). Open Tasker, long-press "Profiles," select "Import," then import the xml files.
4. Back-out of Tasker to save the profile. Done!
Google Home will now automatically remind you of missed calls and unread text messages every 2 minutes until the notifications are cleared from your phone (you can disable by setting your phone to silent). Enjoy!
**Important**
- GH must be connected to the same wifi network as your phone.
- Turn off battery optimization for Tasker and AutoCast or your device may disable these apps when idle.
- Also recommended to set "Use Reliable Alarms" to "Always" under Tasker's Settings/Preferences/Monitor.

Everything works but it says %CName instead of the actual name. I am on the Google pixel but I'm not sure if that matters. Any idea how to fix this?

Hmm, that indicates that the variable is empty.
Try rebooting your phone then calling yourself from a landline and see if that fixes the issue. Also, make certain that you have received the AutoCast BETA update from the PlayStore.
For some reason home is announcing calls I took and missed. And it won't stop saying it..I have to clear my call history for it to stop telling me who called. Any idea?

It's supposed to announce missed calls until you clear the missed call notification from your phone (I use another profile, which I haven't posted, to clear notifications via GH).
But, it should not notify when you actually answered a call. Does your phone display a missed call notification even when you answer? Try a reboot.

Yeah I clear notification and go into dialer and click on history to make sure. Yet it still does it.
Phone does not display notification even after I take a call. One thing I have noticed is autocast always says "casting now"
Is that normal?

The casting now notification is normal and seems to keep autocast reliable and not killed off by the system.
Try opening the missed call reminder profile in Tasker and see if it remains active, i.e. green text, even after you clear the notification.

Works great but when the number is announced , (I am in area code 410), it says 4billion 100 million and so on. How can I get it to just say 410 or 4, 1, 0.
Thanks so much

I recently updated the .xml files to fix that. Are you using the most current .xml files? If not, delete the profiles in Tasker then download and import the new files to Tasker.

I just uploaded new files expanding the different ph# formats that the .xml file will recognize, e.g. +1 XXX-XXX-XXXX, XXXXXXXXXX, 1 XXX-XXX-XXXX. Not sure if this is the problem but maybe worth a try.
Otherwise let me know the format of the ph#'s that display on your phone for incoming calls.

I am sure it's me. I am asking so much for one person, but I appreciate it. My numbers are 10-digit format xxx-xxx-xxxx. My numbers do not use +1. (xxx) xxx-xxxx. Thanks again. Frustrating....

The XML files already recognize those standard 10-digit formats. I have no idea what the problem may be. Good luck.

If I would like this to work with multiple users, they can follow the same steps on their phone?
Sorry for the noob question as I am new to customizing GH with tasker and I am not sure if it is multi-user support.

Correct.
I am having a interesting issue with my phone that I cannot figure out. When I receive a text message the system adds a +1 to the start of the phone number it is coming from, I am using the Samsung Messages application but this does the same thing apparently with the Google SMS app and the Verizon messenger app (as I have\ tried these as well), this only happens with a text and if I get a phone call or look in the address book no numbers have a +1.
The reason this is an issue is because my car imports my phonebook as it appears in the contacts and when I get a text it comes up as Unknown Caller because of the added +1 but phone calls do not have the +1 so they show up just fine.
While working on this I have discovered that if I go to the text by going to my contacts then clicking on the persons name it will remove the +1 and it will stay removed as I text them but the second I get texted back the +1 is added. I called Verizon eventually and was told reset settings, reset network settings, turn off assisted dialing. None of these work and there next solution was to factory reset, I don't think this will help because it isn't just my phone but my wife and son who also got the same phone have the same thing happen.
Has anyone experienced this and know how to fix it. I have been through all the phone and dev settings looking for something. I cannot find any other threads online for this except for a couple from AT&T users from different samsung phones years ago with no answer. Previous to this we were using Note 9's and did not have this issue. Any help is appreciated.
edit: The phone is not rooted or modded and is on Android 11 One UI 3.1, sorry forgot to add that.

That is assisted dialing I turned off already and it didn't affect it. It's also just on text messages phone functions don't have this happen for some reason.
The +1 is your coumtry code prefix (USA).
While you can change this in your messaging app you can't change it from eveyone else's phone.
From using it in your car radio might be somethng in your car settings or else in your contact list add the +1 to all your contacts.

I understand that the +1 is the country code.
It isn't from other people's phones it is the way the Ultra is handling the information when it comes to text messaging. I did the following test. I removed my son as a contact in my phone and called my phone from his. The phone number shows up as (xxx) xxx-xxxx. I then sent a text message to myself from his phone while he still was not in my contacts. I have 3 different text applications on my phone right now for testing purposes (default Samsung, Google's SMS app, and Verizon Messeages) and all 3 shows the phone number as +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx.
The car isn't adding the the +1 to contacts, when my phonebook syncs to the car and I go into it the phonebook on my cars display they show the same as in my contacts "Contacts Name" (xxx) xxx-xxxx but when a text comes in it shows Unknown +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx.
The issue solely lies with text messages being received on the S21 Ultra as this happens when people on Apple phones or Android phones (multiple brands) text me.
In regards to text messaging in general, i live not far from you ( about 9500 miles ) and I have a different device then yours. Receiving text messages from someone in my contacts list shows up contact name. Receiving other text message not in my contact list will show as country code and phone number. There are exceptions to this in regards to texts from government agencies and google which will show up who are not in my contacts list. I think texts messaging work around the international standard ie: country code + phone number while phone calls may not (unless making international calls). So i don't think it's device specific as it more to do with the networks that you connect to.
In regards to talking to you car ( text wise ) i may be of little help as i don't have a android 11 device and a car to talk to.
Since your note 9 works, and as far as i know latest version is android 10, it could be an issue with android 11. From your test using your son's phone have tried to add the +1 to his number to your phone and see if it's make a difference.
