Hi everyone! I'm planning to buy a Xperia Z next week. The problem is, as you guys already know, the Xperia Z have two version: HSPA+ (C6602) and LTE (C6603). Currently, mobile phone distributors in my country are selling both these version, and the LTE one is 100$ more expensive. Of course I want to buy HSPA+ version, since my country doesn't have 4G yet. But can I flash C6603's kernel and ROMs to C6602?
What part of "No questions in General" was hard to understand?

It'll probably come in time like the Xperia P, U, sola and acro S did to the Xperia S forums.

i tought TX had a Snapdragon S3 ?
But V isn't that much different, if there are T versions with LTE....
There is T version of LTE , ATandT and for roms u could choose to not flash baseband and you will keep lte. also TX is same processor as T!!

It is quick too, just the T's a bit big, but then there's no Silver TX - which would be my choice with LTE. Wonder if anyyyone will sell a simfree TX in the UK, I know it's appeared elsewhere in Europe.

Okay... so we have the Xperia T in LT30p and LT30at(LTE, version for AT&T ?) Xperia TX aka LT29(which definitly does look different!) Xperia V as LT25c and LT25i(with LTE).
Any idea which one will be aviable where?
Lt30p Xperia T Available to Europe ONLY LT30at ( NOT LTE , From AT&T) -FOR USA ONLY XPERIA TX , LT29i - Most Asian Countrys, Hong Kong is getting it so if you want it but ur not in asia , u can shipp from Hong Kong its cheaper. and Xperia V LT25c - For China Mobile Networks only , in China , has a diffrent design , LT25i With LTE , For most Asian Countries and Probally USA and might be taken by AT and T . Release date is October/November for Hong Kong , December in most places

The LT30at WILL have LTE and the LT25 will not be picked up by AT&T. Might be able to get it direct from sonystyle.com in the US but that's not for certain yet.

NTT DoCoMo has officially released pricing for the Sony Xperia Z (SO-02E), due to launch in Japan on 9 February 2013. The price looks equivalent to that mooted in other parts of the world, coming in at 77,280 Yen (£545, €645, $860).
Various pricing options exist for monthly plans and full details can be found : http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/charge/simulation/index.html
Funny how people outside japan crave for the japanese version of Xperia Z yet someone from japan want the international version of the device lol!

Both C6602 and C6603's hardware are the same.So I think u can flash C6603 to C6602.But it may a little difficult.
Flashtool can't flash this cellphone now,but I think it can flash future.

But different cell frequencies are supported between each. Flashing the firmware of the other doesn't change the supported frequencies.

thanks for the link dude. i preordered. im really hoping galaxy s4 is a let down so i get this phone
if gs4 turns out to be good i might go with that.
today i got a mail from gsmnation confirming that the c6602 is available for shipping, but after following the link to make the payment i see that the model in that cart is the c6502 (ZL) instead of the c6602, you could check it out following this link: http://www.gsmnation.com/sony-mobile-xperia-z-c6602-unlocked-black.html
anybody knows what happened? its the c6602 really available now?
Had the same issue with gsmnation, was signed up for preorder notice and got an email today saying it was ready for payment but the item in the cart is the C6502(ZL) and not C6602(Z). I sent then a message asking them to confirm whats going on so we shall see what happens. Been a struggle to find any place that even lists the C6602 as existing for preorder let alone purchase.

the c6602 model?? i think that it's not out yet
---------- Post added at 05:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:20 PM ----------
Ok, i got news from GSMNATION.. too bad for it, here is the response i received a few seconds ago:
Hello Gabriel,
The ZL is a regional variant of the Z. It is effectively the same phone. Similar to the Xperia T and TX introduced a few months ago. The differences are minor and cosmetic.
IF anything, on a head to head comparison the ZL 6502 is a later release and a superior model to the Z 6602.
You may view the comparison here.
That having been said the misnomer has already been adjusted to avoid confusion.
Regards,
...
So in resume there will be no C6602 available in gsmnation, the preoder of the phone was a "mistake" and they refer to the ZL model instead of the Z one... misleading advertising?
Ok.. im so sad now.

The ZL is not a regional variant. They are two different phones using the same SoC and similar specs. Differences are more than cosmetic much more so than the TX vs T. Have to wonder what they are taking about.

yeah you can't take what these 3rd party retailers say word for word. they get stuff wrong all the time.
looking for a C6602 model myself for T-Mo.
Just checked gsmnation, is it just me or did they re-add the C6602 version up for pre order?
C6602 is now up on ebay.

For some reason they are listing the 6602 as not supporting T-Mobiles 1700 band for 3g even though the tech sheet for the 6602 says it should support it.
REALLY leary on ordering one if it doesnt support 1700, if I wanted a Xperia Z that didnt support Tmobile 3g I could have avoided the wait and just gotten the 6603.
*edit* It appears that some of the listings indicate no 1700 support and others do not.

I'm more than positive that they didn't update their FAQ's. The specification page on the same posting has HSPA with 1700/1900 so it does support it even with the new farmed spectrum T-Mobile has been doing. I already ordered mine, so I'll let you know if you are curious

Yeah I went ahead and ordered it as well, figured as long as it was the proper model number should be fine and if it isnt can use buyer protection to return it.

The phone will be bought in Hong Kong
Hello!
I've been owning the international Xperia Z from the first week is was out, and it has mostly been very good!
In about a month I will move to USA and it would be nice saving some bucks and use my Xperia Z instead of buying a new phone. Will my international Xperia Z work in the US and on which carriers?
Thanks a lot!

It will support most network bands.
International Z does not support 1700 / 1900 for 3G data bands though.
So chose the operator accordingly.
