Awesome!!! Thanks! Welcome underwater pictures!

Be sure that pressing the button doesn't beak the waterproof seal :/ not sure how how you could check that without trying it though.

Dont do it, when you push any button under water you compress the button and a small amount of water sips through and stays there when you decompress the button. Im not a 100 % sure on how it is with this phone, it might have a working seal. But if it doesnt...

I think it'll be fine, I'll try it in the pool soon.

[Q] How to Screen Capture in Galaxy Camera?

Hi... I just got my Galaxy Camera in yesterday.
I've been wondering how to do screen capture in Galaxy Camera... does anyone know how to do so?
Thank you... ^.^
The power button and zoom out.

Or go to settings. Under motion settings tick palm swipe to capture. Then you can simply swipe your hand across the screen to make a screenshot.

Thanks for the response. I tried it just now, it doesn't work.
Maybe I did wrong, I hold the zoom in and power button at the same time, doesn't work.
Same situation when I hold the zoom out and power button.

Thanks for the response. The step you provided is to allow me to take a photo from the display when turn on the camera mode.
Let me explain further, I have a Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 and if I want to screen capture on the display, in Jellybean I shall need to hold the power button and home button at the same time.
Can I do same thing if I want to screen capture the desktop without turn on the Camera mode?
Yes you can capture the screen in any mode. The palm swipe takes a little getting used to. I find it best to use the side of my hand.

Dedicated camera button

Hello all,
I'm really starting to like this phone a lot, my question is can anyone confirm that it has a dedicated camera button please? I have read a fair few reviews etc and some say yes and some say only the ZL does.
Thanks in advance

No, there isn't.
One side has the power button and volume rocker, the other side has pogo pins for the dock charger. No camera button.

Speaker on the side and earphone at the front top, just like pretty much every other phone. Speaker is pretty decent too.

Well I hope it's pretty loud, as I have a Note 2 at the moment and that is really loud.

It won't be as loud as Note 2. It's waterproof - this means it has to block some fair amount of sound along with water.
Anyway, i'm sure there will be a way to use the power button as a physical camera button - but probably only with root access etc. There's a power shutter option in CM and it works great.

As long as it's fairly decent I'll be happy... but I will no doubt root it for the camera mod, that would be awesome. The power of button looks like it should be the camera button to me, right location.

With a little camera mode, one could easily make power button as shutter using apktool

I still find it sad that the Xperia Z doesn't have a camera button but the Xperia ZL does. Same camera, same screen, same specs overall, same-ish size but not waterproof.
Sony is probably the last phone maker that puts dedicated camera buttons on their phones, and I like that. Every other phone maker puts it on screen, or uses the volume up button instead. I want a dedicated camera button. My phone has it and I enjoy using it. I think Sony is sticking with those photographers because of the physical camera buttons.
Yay Sony!

I was also wondering if it the Xperia Z had a camera button or not, after checking out many photos, it doesn't. But I didn't see it on the Xperia ZL until today.
Has anyone seen a mod that makes the volume rocker become a shutter button when in camera app? That would be very helpful.

Then how would you zoom in and out?
Pinch in/out. And zoom is basically digital zoom which is like cropping and enlarging (useless). Anyways you can use ANY physical button as shutter, you just need to modify Camera apk using apktool. I bet some genius guy will do it, if not then i'll give it a shot.

Snap, I find it sad too that this phone will not have a dedicated camera button after Sony have had them on previous phones.....but at least there is a mod as AayushDhuria has pointed out...so I will be using that mod for sure!

Don't use digital zoom. Instead cut the photo on your PC.

Underwater Camera Application

Is there an application that locks the screen like MXPlayer or BSplayer, but slide lock, so when we jump into the water camera keeps recording, Otherwise water touches the screen and generally aborts the record.

There should be such a thing but there isn't, it requires a lot of hacking. It's the same thing as being able to use nfc tags while your phone is still locked/screen off. The only disadvantage would be that when your screen is off while you're recording you can't see what you're actually recording.

[Q] Burst on long press shutter button sticks

Is anyone else having this issue:
My Z1 is on Kitkat. When I enable long press for burst, every single picture I take with the physical shutter button is a burst shot. I can't seem to press and release the shutter fast enough to avoid it. I like having long press to burst active so I can take them when I want, but the shutter button seems to be so stiff that it's the only kind of shot I can take when it's on.
Is this a known issue, or is it my unit?
I have that on mine so I disabled burst mode :-/

Thanks for confirming. See, I don't want to disable it. I like being able to take spontaneous burst shots. It works fine with the on-screen shutter. I think the hardware button is either just too stiff or sensitive or both.

JB camera port

Hi guys, does anyone know if it is possible to port 4.2.2 jb xeria z camera to kitkat firmware? I think anybody would agree with me that the JB camera quality is better than the Kitkat camera..

Oh, I see. I can see that would be useful. I don't understand why more manufacturers don't include a hardware camera button for this purpose.
