Hello guys it's been a while since last time I enter this forum I came back because I need help unlocking an Exhibit sgh-t759.
I choose the method where you copy the nv_data file in the computer and that is where I'm stuck now.I have the file but don't know exactly where and what to look for.I can even send the file to someone who knows how to decipher the unlock code. Thanks in advance.
Someone misdirected you. This is the t679 forum.

I'm trying to sim unlock my exhibit sgh-t759to use on a prepaid carrier I already rooted the phone and have the nv_data.bin file on my pc . Im supposed to get the code out of that file by using a text editor or a hex editor but I tried both but don't know what or where exactly that number is.
I've included(I think) the bin file so maybe one of you guys can take a look and help me unlock the phone.Thanks.

It's alright just post whatever you find and no i will not try that I read some more and it doesn't seem to safe .
Ok that's what i got, I believe it should be an eight digit code so that eliminates most of that. The limit of trys you get to unlock is either 3 or 10 so... Hopefully i helped, good luck

OK too bad I guess using this won't work. In theory something like what is described is how it should work, but I guess our phone is storing that data elsewhere.

I and I'm sure others are well aware of the law however the entire basis of the rule is under the pretence that you do not own the phone because it is under contract and each monthly installment will get you closer to actually owning the phone. I however bought this phone without a contract and android under the GPL licensing is open source therefore in my case I can unlock the phone (which tmobile all ready did for me). So on a superfluous layer I can see why you think it is illegal but it is not.

i installed bugless beast and now everything in the menu forcecloses i cant do anything. any suggestions? please i go to try the odin3 unroot but i cant get the drivers to install. have no clue why help im a noob i aint doin this again.
wth is an odin3 unroot, do u mean 1 click restore?
and more importantly you need to get those drivers working or else your computer can't see the phone, which means you cant run odin in the first place. i don't understand want the problem is, you run the .exe file and restart your computer if you have to, just make sure u match 32/64bit of your OS
10 charcater
If you can not get the drivers on the odin thread to work put samsung captivate into google search. Go to official web site. Bottom of page, download manual, click, click software. There is a download for drivers. Try them

Not a good idea to post your damn imei on the fuggin interwebs either.
Yeah, gotta agree with zombie. It would be the same as posting your social security.
There are apps that do this. Just remember to BACK UP your EFS folder. Like back it un phone and computer and w/e other place. If your EFS folder gets jacked up you probably lost your IMEI and you will need to send to to someone to rebuild it.

You know that method cost a good chunk of cash and almost always requie to send them your IMEI.... Just all kinds of wrong. In theory you can ask ATT to do it and will probably just be cheaper safer. OR get root and use the app. My phone is unlocked no issues
I have done an Idiots Guide for other devices, and now its time for one on the Google Nexus 7 Tablet. I tried to make this guide as thorough as possible, including driver installation, so hopefully this will be as successful for you as it was for me. It took me 20 minutes to find and remove all this junk, would be better if you put these files some where we can eaisly downlaod them, by the way, there is not the original prog., you mention .......... so I gave up.

hey OP, i followed your video last night and after a few unplugs, task kills, etc. finally rooted my device.
i also followed your step to not flash CWM when rooting, but realize I might want to do that now. is it just as simple as plugging in the device again, then changing the option to CWM and clicking Root in wugs tool?
TIA.

That is a fantastic question. I will attempt to do this and get back to you with a response.
I have always rooted my phones after their warranty period has expired. I was waiting to do this with my N7 also but I see the toolkit had the option to return to stock and relock the device so I assume there is no warranty issue. Also rooting has come a long way and gotten much simpler than 1 to 2 years ago when I was rooting my G1, think will be rooting my N7 this weekend

No luck for today, for any dev reading this you won't find write permissions on data partition and on data not even read permissions on /dev no way to flash a insecure boot.IMG can't get ADV restore to restore anything , no way to flash stuff , no user mode on adb and no way to get boot loader unlocked( needs key) if I can find someone with a official boot loader unlock with his device I can maybe find a way to guess how making a device password works that means you can get unlocked if I find that way also tried another methods and no way to do since even files on data partition don't have read permission so sorry guys but I will try again and again if necessary

I know this thread is a little old, but i had the same problem after rooting my T-Mobile Flex. I'm telling you, the guide to restore stock firmware DOES 100% work. The problem is that it's not clear on what state your phone must be in. I had to manually enter Download Mode in order to get the thing working. I have been reading that some people were able to fully restore their phone by using the LG Suite program, which can be found on LG's official support page. Make sure your computer actually "registers" your phone being connected to it by installing the appropriate drivers.
