Since today my Walkman lockscreen widget is not working properly anymore. It just says "No tracks available" whereas there are plenty
I tried clearing Walkman app's data, rebooting, I even flashed a different ROM and the issue is still there. Switching tracks works, when I press the Play button, it displays the track name, but when I hit Next, it doesn't update or change. When I press the Power button, it doesn't show me the widget automatically like it used to.
Really out of options, any kind of help is welcome. Thanks
I believe it a bug with the clearaudio+ app that's included with some roms.

Well that's just great, since I can't root my (stock) device. Also, on my phone it doesn't work at all, not only when the headset is plugged it.
EDIT: got it working again. In case someone else gets this problem, I did this: started Walkman, paused the song, quit the app and removed it from the recent apps menu. Then I locked the screen, pressed the Walkman icon and slowly dragged it to the right. Now it works again.
I am so confused.
Update: broken again! Damn.

I'm not the developer of this app, I found it on the Internet !
With that app we can turn off music keys on the top lockscreen when we not listen the music.
Ever wanted to remove the active song from the volume bar without rebooting your phone? Now you can!
Just open the application and your music will be stopped. The Volume Bar will be cleared and the music controls removed from the volume bar and the lock screen. No more accidentally pressing the play button.

Thanks for sharing!
Sent from my TITAN X310e using Board Express
You can also play a video file and pause it, and voila, no more volume options for music!!!
Fantastic app.
Is it possible to write the app so that it will disable the music then close itself? That way, you could have it pinned to the start screen and simply press it, and it will do everything automatically.
Thanks for sharing!
Awesome and I second the idea of Lumic.
A little option should be avaible in the menu, which allows you to toggle if the application should close itself after removing the music bar.
thanks, very cool app )
Thanx for making this in an app in the marketplace. The app already existed though. Very usefull.
nice app. thanks for this one.
very cool app
Very good app. I think that Microsoft should have included this option in the OS.
I was just thinking about "There oughta be an app for this!" the other day.
Great app, thanks!
Headphone audio stops working when I play a music and put the app in the background and press the power button to turn off the screen. I am on the latest nightly. Anyone else having this problemo?
Edit: Fix: Hold the Home screen > Settings > Voice > Uncheck Hotword Detection. Then reboot.

I think it doesn't have to do anything with the custom kernels that we've installed. I uninstalled my devil's kernel and the problem still persist.

All my music apps including the youtube app.
I just installed Slim Rom and I now have no problems.
Edit: I discovered that it was Google Now Launcher causing the music bug. Slim Rom comes with Nova Launcher as default and when I use Nova, the problem does not persist.

Good thing you found what was causing the problem. Audio is now working fine after disabling hotword ("okay google") detection in voice settings.
Hold the Home screen > Settings > Voice > Uncheck Hotword Detection . Then reboot.
Thnx mans, same problm/solution here.

Not really a fix, more like a workaround. What if I want to keep Hotword Detection and still play music? Anyone?

Hey all, I'm on the latest update there is for my C6903 and I have just noticed the music player controls no longer show on the lock screen when music is playing. It's not the end of the world as my headphones have music controls on them but it seems odd after all this time for them to be gone.
I've tried all the usual methods of adding widgets to the home screen but nothing changes, the clock remains!
SmartKey

Hi,
Do you have SmartKey installed on your phone by any chance? I've noticed that since the last update, the music control widget has disappeared from the lock screen which is quite annoying if you're using a headset with no remote control as I do. The only solution I've come upon until now is uninstalling this app. It used to be that if you disabled the 'music mode' on the app, the music control widget would reappear but that doesn't work anymore.

No problem. This thing drove me crazy once. By the way, I used my Xperia Z1 today and although I have SmartKey installed, the music widget is back on the lock screen. There has been no update since the last time I've used the phone and I haven't changed any of the settings. Quite weird...
This is an issue I've had with stock-based 8.0 ROMs (currently using JanJan's .235). If I'm using any music player, and the screen is off, once the song is over sometimes the next song will not play. As soon as I turn on the screen and show the lockscreen, the next song starts.
Anyone else experiencing this, or found a fix? I'm sure if I use something that forces a wake lock it would fix the problem, but that wouldn't be good on the battery life.

Go into settings\battery - press the three dots top right - power saving exceptions. Add your music player to the exceptions list.

Thanks, I've already done this. It did not fix the problem, unfortunately.
I ran into the same problem: I solved it by not only adding Blackplayer to the Power Saving Exceptions (PSE), but also checking "Wake lock" under Settings/Audio/More". Not sure if other players feature a similar option.
Alternatively, it might be necessary to look for a system process, which is also necessary for music playback and add it to PSE.
I've only had he phone a few days, everything is stock (not rooted yet). What I've noticed is occasionally the display gets stuck. Like if I'm using a music player app (poweramp) and it plays to the end of the song and then goes to the next track in the playlist, but the display doesn't change. If I go to the recent apps (overview) and then go right back to the poweramp, it updates the display to the new track. The bug doesn't seem to be app-specific, I've seen it happen with other apps, including system apps.
Has anybody else encountered this? Is there any fix or any ideas? There was an OTA update today, but it didn't make any difference.
I had this happen to me, the way I solved it was to activate the labs feature in Nova launcher (you go into the settings front page of Nova then press and hold the volume down button untill you get a message telling you labs has been activated, then go into labs and toggle the refresh widgets on resume setting, it helps my system work, may help you
Thanks for your response, I tried it but it didn't work for me.
