Charging issues with jellybean - TouchPad Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone else been having issues charging on any jellybean ROM? I've tried them all and my touchpad will only charge on an ICS ROM. Any suggestions?

If you are using jcsullins or oats you need to go settings/ storage then tap the 3dots in the top right hand corner and tap usb computer and put a tick in MTP. After that it will charge.
I hope this helps.

aokp or cm9

So, I want help deciding. Currently I'm running cm9, and I've resized the partition to 12 gb. I know jelly bean will be functional soon. Should I stick with cyanogenmod or should I check out aokp. Any ideas?
I have been having some trouble with aokp. Such things as headphones not working or audio still coming from speakers while using headphones. I feel the cyanogenmod is still more stable and faster than aokp. I suggest waiting for cyanogenmod 10

Don't go for the Milestone 6 AOKP, it has too many bugs. You will find none of the links work for the other builds as we are no longer supported. CM9 is your ticket.

What does it do ?
Milestone is unstable, and is not official. Goo.im has had a crash, which is why the TP links are dead. If someone has build 40 please tell me, and I will upload it

It goes straight to the desk clock which is OK... its logical even... BUT for some.reason the volume goes way down although the setting doesn't move.... so a lot of volume is lost... still OK because I don't need or want it loud... BUT I do use DI Radio and TuneIn radio alot, and when i pull it off the Touchstone it shuts the app down and goes to the desk clock again

OK tried that and I also installed Alarm Clock Plus and they both do the same thing... I can choose what I want to happen when I dock but that's not the issue.. they have no effect on what happens when I REMOVE the TP from the Touchstone... which is shutdown any app I had running and return to home

Well I have Dock nothingness on putting on my charger the browser reloads but that only takes seconds and with mx player a very brief pause on removing it from the touchstone no change whatsoever. So short of installing AOKP I've run out of ideas.
If get a copy of M6 I will try to replicate your problem , any particular app I should be running? I don't like it when I can't figure something out .

I have installed Tune in Radio and ran it on OaT's. with Dock. Nothingness. As usual a brief hiccup when placing it on the Touchstone but nothing when taking it of . Have/can you try it with a different rom just to make sure that you are only having this problem with AOKP M6 . If that's the case I will do a fresh install of AKOP M6 with Tune in Radio and see what happens so that we can try to find out whether you are having an AOKP fault or a general one .

Well when I was running the CM9 unofficial nightlies I didn't have that issue... I set default for desk clock when placed ON the Touchstone but when taken OFF it would just keep doing whatever it was doing
So when you removed it from the Touchstone playing TuneIn radio it didn't kill the app?
Edit: this morning did a complete factory reset and flashed the 0819 nightly with gApps and installed DI radio and acted as I suspected... when removing Touchpad from dock the app just keeps playing like its supposed to
So I wiped again and flashed AOKP and only installed DI radio and did as I suspected... when removing from dock DI RADIO stops playing

I also did a clean instal of AOKP and only installed Tune in radio just to make sure there were no clashes with other apps . And as you say it turns of when you remove it from the touchstone . I couldn't figure a way round. So I'm now back with OaT's .
Sorry I couldn't come up with solution, but I tried. Only plus for me was trying Tune in Radio , which is great.

Thanks for the suggestion -SGA- and I had already tried for the very same reason and it acted the same... I have gone back to CM9 and now running the 0903 nightly

I've tried both and would definitely recommend CM9 nightlies over any of the others.

yeah the vibration problem does exist!
I've got the same vibration problem
Confirmed here as well... the phone turns into a dildo when you long press the power button. Also, when you turn on the phone, when the lockscreen shows up (before you insert your PIN code), it has the battery indicator reading 999% (if you have this option activated).
Which BB and RIL must i flash, because I have atm BB 725 but getril doesn't match? Thanks
I love this
This is awesome Thanks RC, if I would have some money I would give it to you!:highfive:
Anyone else having issues with charging? battery percentage doesnt seem to increase as fast when charging
I have also experienced the vibration issue, but after a reboot and clearing dalvik and cache everything is fine.

Black Screen on Safe System

Hi!
I've had my phone on a custom ICS ROM for quite a while now and for some reason the phone was giving me problems so I tried to go into my Safe System but the screen is just black. I'm pretty sure I installed a ROM on it a while ago but there is a chance I did not.
When I plug the phone into the computer I can't turn it on all I see is the white light.
When I plug it in to the outlet then I see the Bionic Logo and then I see the Safestrap Safe System Enabled. If I touch Search or Menu (or nothing at all) the same thing happens: It goes away to a black screen. The only way to turn It off is to take out the battery with it unplugged from the wall charger or hold down the voume down + power button for a while.
It won't turn on any way other then being plugged into the wall outlet charger..
How can I fix this / start fresh and reinstall a rom? I can't do the thing where I boot into the options by holding the volume buttons and the power button, either. Nothing happens when It's not plugged into the wall outlet (or white LED when plugged into the computer)
I also left it on the black screen for a few hours just to make sure It was charging, If it was at all.
Thanks for any help in advance..
What version of safe strap are you using. Try version 3.05 if your not using it. I had the same problem before and this fixed that issue on ICS.

How can I do that.. (I can't get into FastBoot)
You'll have to install it on your custom ROM if you can access safe side.

Sorry to sound like a noob but, I installed all of this a long time ago and followed a specific tutorial.
So I don't know what you mean.. on the SD card?
I went to a Verizon store and found a lady who worked there with a Bionic and she charged my battery for me, and then I could get into recovery.
Thanks for your help though!

[Q] USB connectivity issue

Hi,
I'm running camcory's cm10 ROM with the 20121011 gapps and TWRP. The phone works fine by itself. The issue is when I plug it into my desktop, it constantly connects and disconnects. I'm using the current drivers from Samsung. Is there something I missed in the CM10 thread about needing different drivers or is there something else going on here?
Thanks in advance,
~ Alisiel

[Q] Navigation buttons on custom ROM - Problem!

On stock v20a, the navigation buttons didn't turn on unless I was using them. Now, after I installed the Slimbean ROM, they turn on everytime I touch the screen. Is there any way to solve this?

nope, unfortunately. you can disable them completely, or turn them on whenever screen is on, but there's no jb mode, i.e. for them to light up only when you touch them.
Ok, thanks. Can you tell me how to disable them completely?
