Live wallpaper on home screen I kind of get (Even though it eats your battery), but most of the times you only look at your lock screen just for a few seconds before either unlocking or turning the screen back off.

Regarding the digitizer

Is it the software's fault or the hardware's fault that it's so darn buggy?
I mean, single touch inputs are almost fine, but dual-touch inputs aren't. When one touch axis crosses another one's path, they kinda "melt" together. Why is this?
Is the Clearpad 2000 normally like this or did HTC somehow **** it up?
It's HW. If it was SW, it would obviously be fixed.

4.2.2 let's see if Sony keeps the promise

Like they said we would release 4.2.2 or 1 right shortly after releasing the z. Wondering what shortly means for them lol

More like "quickest at shoveling a crappy update out the door". Take any Samsung update for a major Android OS, and add at LEAST 3-6 months before it's even remotely stable.
ICS on the I9100 was an utter and total ****fest of epic proportions... It didn't stop being a ****fest until many other manufacturers started deploying ICS.

its always samsung according to my carrier and even Samsung Mobile Canada admit it on their face book. And they are definitely not the qickest either.
Well they are for me in the UK. LG, Sony and the rest don't come close here. Apple are the best of course.

Explain to my then, how come the first jb rom is Polish and that was few months ago, however branded jb roms are still rolling out in a lot of countries. moreover specific apps are added to different carrier roms, why would Samsung do that?

Miracast ? That should work via DLNA right ? Sony's mirroring doesn't !
Sony's Miracast works exactly like Google's. DLNA doesn't do live streaming, it only streams existing files.
There is almost nothing new in 4.2 for Xperia users, Sony did the most important things before Google even announced them.
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
I wouldn't cry too much to get Android 4.2.1 or 4.2.2 because that bug ridden piece of junk introduces bugs of it's own, including the infamous and absolutely infuriating Wifi bug where Wifi stops working when you turn the screen off and notifications for GMAIL WHATSAPP etc stop working until you turn the screen back on.
No fix in sight for that either, it's the main reason I ditched my Nexus 4.

Inte's WirlessDisplay is also MiraCast based right? And that works via DLNA with a 5sec delay!
Just want a more optimised version of what we've got really.

Well of course "apple are the best". They never even let you know a new OS is coming so why would you say they are slow, right? Plus they give you features that other phones had for years then put an advertising spin on it that make you so "happy" you finally got a feature others have had for years.

Intel WiDi is something completely different, even though it is compatible with Miracast from version 3.5.
Well some apps only work with 4.2 so looking forward to get it fast.
but I don't care if sony is fast, as long we get some stable 4.2 custom roms fast

+10, yep I though this had something to do with the workings of NFC, because it is hardly a sticker . When and if I remove the rear screen protector I will remove it.

No. The NFC unit is built into the phone, removing the sticker doesn't cause any problems.

Yes you are right! NFC has a pretty low range than Bluetooth and placing it at the right spot should trigger the beam, slight movements can cause connection termination (i mean even a slight movement) so it's appropriate to show people where the chip is actually placed so you need not touch everywhere and see. That's what for the sticker is and after you know where it's placed, you can remove it safely.. I did too, no probs in that!

I'm glad they didn't, the NFC logo is one of the worst logos ever. I would have been very unhappy if I couldn't remove it
Hahaha wtf, for about 2 months I used to think that the NFC sticker on the back was the actual NFC chip and I was panicking because it kept getting scratched, then just about 5 minutes ago it sort of moved to an angle and I was like 'wtf, pretty sure a chip isn't meant to move like that'. Then I knocked it with my nail and it just fell off. Now I feel like an idiot haha, for the whole time I was doing the best I could to take care of it, now I've realized I've spent 2 months looking after a sticker...

Is the kernel suggested based on stock as I wanted to stay as close to stock as possible?

Go back to Samsung if your main concern in HTC1 is the vibration intensity.

Thanks for a really positive reply... Yes it does bother me... A lot as it's stupidly loud/strong and it's a basic feature that should be included in the stock rom! I like a discrete vibration for my notifications... What's wrong with that?
Plus it's a software feature that could be easily implemented... I'm not asking for any hardware miracles... I'm glad to move away from Samsung (and I am a big Samsung fan) because of their cheap looking plastic construction... I also want htc to do well as its good for competition... They've won me with the hardware but there are certain things that bug me which i miss and want a work workaround

Lol who would ever touch a plastic device again. And if you don't know where the kernel is then my guess is your just an average user. Faux123's kernels are not for average users and are more focused to power android users.

What really annoys is that it's a software feature that wouldn't cost htc anything other than a little development time to implement... Being stubborn doesn't get a company anywhere... Look at Nokia for example!

That's what I don't like when companies try to impose rather than giving customer the choice...that's why I don't have an iPhone because Apple are very stubborn and impose their stupid ways onto their customers! Android is meant to be different as it's open source and customisable...
I also miss the shortcut toggles in the notification bar but I've read somewhere that mods are available...
