Yes you can, not by default though, there was an app that could do this. Don't really remember which one though.
And once you're rooted, anything is possible.

I've created a little app that lets you set the touch key brightness, but most significantly, restores your settings on boot.
It's 99p and you can find it in the Market.
I've posted some additional technical info in this topic in the Development area.
Cheers!

must buy item ^^
The same thing can be done with launcherpro for free?

Indeed, Hidden Menu does this for you, much easier and cheaper imo
Please..somehow make this so you can light them up for notifications! That 99p price and be 5x higher if you do..it cant be that hard..take the code from apps like SMS popup and combine it with your code for touch key brightness, maybe?
Please show me how to make hidden menu restore the value on startup, the point of this app... thanks.

Yea. I love it!
I'm loving how it uses HoloUI guidelines. Check this out on JB...
I know this is off topic but what ROM is that? I'd like those quick on off buttons in the pull down menu

Having Sony XZ for a week now upgrading from SGS3, WiFi on my Sony Xperia is fine when in same room however soon as I leave the room WiFi drops in and out however comparing to my SGS3 the WiFi bar is full and no drops just wondering if was issue with XZ and anyone having same issues as myself. I'm not sure if a setting problem or issue with handset itself. Any advice will be really helpful..

Those apps need kernel support to work so they will never work without a custom kernel and hence an unlocked bootloader
Yes, but unlock users aren't so rare.
I personnaly have a UB and I'd love to improve even more my battery life.
even if I already enjoy mine.

Yes, but my point still stands. You need a custom kernel. They will not work on stock kernel which is what the user asked for.
Oow sorry, I didn't see the end of his post ^^
Ok, but it's the same, kernel custom mean UB.
