[Q] Question - /dev/block - LG Thrill 4G

Hi, I have a question on how one would identify all the devices in /dev/block on LG Thrill. I have Cyanogenmod LG Optimus 3D on LG Thrill Hardware (For the Play Store) and I have attempted cat /proc/mtd from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964239 and I did find what might be the device for recovery from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363132&nocache=1, but I don't know how to find what these devices are.
If it helps, my phone is Gingerbread (2.3.7).
This is (possibly) my first post on a forum.
Thank you in advance for all those who help.

[Q] Rooting gingerbread (2.3.4) on lg optimus 2x

Hello, i have an Lg otimus 2x that has gingerbread (2.3.4) and i want to root it because its getting slow and the memory often go below 60mb. I want to root so i can use MinFreeManager and uninstall all those useless LG preinstalled apps.
So, can i root witth superoneclick? And if the rooting fails somehow, will i be able to fix it?
Thanks,
There are two ways of doing this.
First - go here (also available in upper right corner on xda page) and copy/paste this expression (without ") in the box "how to root lg optimus 2x gingerbread" and hit enter and then click first link.
Second - go here and c/p same expression like in first method. Click third link (first two are videos).
You will see that in both ways you will get this.
Then start reading.
Hope that this helps.

How i can root my LG P970-V20a???

Hi! How i can root my LG-V20a. I have official firmware for Baltics. Thanks for any solutions.
Sent from my LG-P970 using XDA
First of all, since you're new to this board please read the Welcome To The LG Optimus Black Section..... (Please Read If You're New)
Also, read the [HOW TO]The Big N00B how-to! since it will answer most of your questions.
Second, if you would have searched you would have found your answer already, but i'll help you (i'm in a good mood today ).
So, for general Rooting look at [Q] How to root P970 Gingerbread V20N it's vor the V20N version but it mostly applies to any version.
Regarding the question (that will follow soon) how to flash the firmware, look at THIS
P.S. if i manage to find a patched V20A i'll post here, for now i only found V20B, V20N , V20E and V20O that are patched and rooted.
I try all root app, and no one work with me, always access denied.
OB 2.3.4 V20a
Please help

Adobe Flash Player for LG Optimus 2x

Hello,
I'm really struggling to download Adobe Flash Player from Google Play. I have one Optimus 2x, but on Google, under my account, I am being displayed with various devices (therefore, I do not know which device to install under). Would it be possible to install Flash Player using an .apk file? I have found various on the internet, but none specific for the Optimus 2x.
Therefore, I am asking, could someone please post the .apk for Optimus 2x's Flash Player app? Sorry if I am breaking any rules, I do not intend to do so, and if I am, then this thread can simply be deleted. Sorry, and thank you.
Again, sorry for the hassle. Thank you very much! :good:

Pick P990, P990h or P999(if your phone is the G2x, U.S.A model of the o2x) on the device list, and there you go.
It's strange because the stock rom's and mostly of the custom one's has the flash player installed by default, so the only thing you need to do is update it.
You asked for .apk file, so here you go:
For Android 2.x
For Android 4.x
IMHO I removed all Adobe applications from my O2X so I can absolutely live without it. I didn't found any site to be Flash only dependent.

EAP-SIM

Hi,
I was wondering if some one could help me out by explaining to me why my P990 doesn't supports the EAP-SIM method??
Is it a ROM issue? a Kernel issue? = Driver issue?; or is it really a hardware issue? and i should consider changing my phone...
I have been looking around and it would seem to me that it is just a software, hence it can be added to different phones.
For example, in France this method is given by the rom provider (FREE) for SG3; people have managed to get the needed files and have patched the SG2 to make it work too with EAP-SIM...
So, would it be possible to make it for the P990 knowing that a ROM exist for the LG optimus L9 here
I mean, can we extract the configuration that is used in this kernel-ROM and apply it on another one?
Thanks for your help and or explanations

Ups... sorry about that.
Maybe if I restate my question it gets more linked to this forum
Can I use the ROM of LG Optimus L9 with my LG Optimus 2x?
Or how can I extract the EAP-SIM information of one and use it in the other one? (is this possible?)
Sorry again about my multiple posting.

If this is a software issue, you should try to request it at CyanogenMod. There's more chance they would implement it than with LG itself. But you would have to root your phone, and change to the CyanogenMod ROM, which is pretty good.

[Q] Help for bricked phone

Hi there, I'm aware this forum isn't for support so would like to know where would be the appropriate forum to direct my post!
Basically, I bricked my LG Optimus 4X HD (p880) phone after following the instructions to root my phone from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818502
Here's what I did:
Followed the instructions in the XDA LG Optimus 4X thread (from the link above) to root my phone
Installed Clockwork Recovery Mod
Tried to restart phone in recovery mode
Phone can't start anymore, and shows the following error message:
[LGE_SECURITY] ERROR: boot image signature
Critical failure: Unable to start kernel
Unrecoverable bottloader error (0x00000002)
Grateful for any assistance. Thanks!
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. The best place for your question would be the dedicated LG Optimus 4X HD q&a section, which is here:
Optimus 4X HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
That sub-forum can be found within the Optimus 4X HD device forum here:
LG Optimus 4X HD
I'd suggest you bookmark that page and subscribe to that forum, that way you can find it easily again in future. There's no need to create a new post in the q&a secrion now, we'll simply have this thread moved there for you, so standby, it won't take long.
Good luck!

Thanks! The link to the 3 apps is dead though. Any idea what are the 3 apps so I can download the 3 apps elsewhere? I've managed to download the KDZ file.
Hi, anyone can advise what are the files to download? The original link is dead and I'm unable to find out what software is required to resolve the issue.
