[Q] Wireless Tether Not Working

My wireless tether recently stopped working, and i was wondering if anyone could tell me why. I rooted using designgears SuperRooter, and i flashed Unhelpfuls OC kernel, and i did the ext4 lagfix. When i start wireless tether, the symbol pulsates once then stops, almost like its frozen. It worked before when i had rooted using unleash the beast, so i was wondering if that would have anything to do with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Edit: I was also wondering what was wrong with the "Mobile AP" in the samsung captivate..I havent heard anyone talking about it, and it seems to do the same thing as wireless tether. Is it a scam or something?

[Q] Wifi driver

This is more of a developer question, but I'm too new to post there. I'm looking for a phone with a replaceable TI wifi driver. The Bionic source release looks like it would build it as a module (but I'm not geared up to try it), but I thought I heard somewhere it's a kernel built-in (but I can't seem to find confirmation now). Can anybody confirm which it is?

[i9001][GPS][GLONASS] Posibility

Hi,
I wonder if it's possible to reprogram i9001 gps module in this way to make glonass network connections possible. SGS III can connect to glonass network and I've read that glonass connection is a software problem. So maybe is's possible to reprogram i9001 module using SGS III software.
THX
I don't think it is possible.
EDIT:It is possible,we must wait for a ROM with glonass support and then we can take filse needed.
I9001 has glonass support, because it has a qualcomm chip inside. It is sad that no rom has glonass support.
Didn't even knew about this network, but i'm really interested right now.
What do you think of this?

Looking at the table on this link shows that our chipset is capable of running with glonass.
http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapdragon
(ours is MSM8255Turbo)
I also think it's possible but we need a developer to help us.
I don't think it's possible because it's probably low-level stuff in baseband firmware. That area is completely proprietary. Same reason why there's no monitor mode for wifi.

Can't get WiFi tether to work

Hi,
I can't get WiFi tethering to work on my device, even though the ROM specifications imply that it is compatible and tested to work.
Basically, the problem is that when I activate the WiFi tether, the process goes smoothly and it becomes active, but none of my devices can see the SSID of my X8. I tried to scan for it both with my laptop and the Xperia Arc S device, and wasn't able to find it, albeit my laptop on one occasion actually managed to see it and connect to it successfully. When I tried the next time, the X8 wasn't there anymore.
I tried both the Wireless tether for root users app, and Barnacle wifi tether. Both have the same issue. I've also tried rotating through the channels and adding encryptions.
ROM is FroyoPro v2.5 and kernel is stock. I've read somewhere that stock kernel doesn't support WiFi tethering, but keep in mind the creator of the ROM tested it on stock kernel successfully, and I actually managed to connect to the device on a single occasion. Something else must be the issue.
Anyone else with the same problem? And possibly a fix?
EDIT: I've read that most phones can't connect to your WiFi tether because it's ad hoc mode. Is that the case here? And if it is, is it possible to make our X8 broadcast in infrastructure mode?
Had a few more successful connections to the laptop. No luck so far on Xperia Arc S.
Same problem on GDX stock kernel

As far as I can see, an app called WiFi tether is the only one capable to set up an infrastructure mode, but your ROM and kernel must support it. Also, most phones support searching for infrastructure networks and don't support ad hoc at all. I can't unlock my bootloader so I can't investigate this any further.
For now, Barnacle wireless tether is the only one that works for me, probably because it supposedly loads its own drivers, and I can connect to my X8 only from a computer.
I'm really getting annoyed with the stock kernel. One day I'm going to get drunk somewhere, and when I come home I'm going to attempt to unlock it. I swear (11w41)
You must flash "Wireless Tether for FroyoPro:" it is in second post of froyopro thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20494413&postcount=2

I did try that, and it doesn't work even though the fix for tethering is installed in v2.5. Also, another thing that is annoying with it is that I have to reboot after each use, or else normal wifi wouldn't work. Barnacle is the only thing that works at the moment.
Good morning everyone.
I'm looking for help from anyone who can help me.
I'm looking for a rom that works well wi-fi tethering.
Barnacle does not work for me on all roms I've tried.
I'm a little desperate.
I'm waiting for someone to help me .....
I've tried much more rom like JB and ICS, but nothing to do.......
At the start, it works well, very fast, but after 5 minutes the display goes black, the network is disconnected and no longer works.
HELP ME!!

[REQUEST][MODULE] Wifi IBSS adhoc support

Hi friends,
I've been searching for a magisk module to enable systemless-ly wifi IBSS adhoc support, but I have not been able to find it.
Does anybody know if it has been done?
Nowadays very few people cares about that, but it still would be a little victory against google.
Thanks in advance.
