Does anyone know which launchers may work with the HTC One?
I need to set up a 7 X 6 grid on the home screen. Basically I want to port over my setup from my Atrix 4G. Noone has mentioned any grid settings so a 3rd party launcher may be necessary.

I think Sense 5.0 should be compatible with the HTC One. Don't hold me to it though, I could well be wrong. Hope that helped buddy!...
The only other launcher that I have heard for certain works with the One is Nova Launcher. Read about it on Android Central. But I would imagine others would work just as well.
Hope this helps

I'm sure apex and go launchers will work soon as you buy it as well. It is running 4.1 I believe? So it won't be a problem at all.

I just got my One today, and one of the first things I tried was to install my favorite launcher, LauncherPro Plus. It installed and seemed to work, but I quickly discovered that, because the One doesn't have a "menu" button and because LauncherPro apparently doesn't adhere to the latest Android application design guidelines, what you end up with is a big horizontal black bar with three vertically aligned dots (HTC's solution for apps that still require a menu button) between the launcher icons and the capacitive buttons - which sadly makes it a non starter for me, unfortunate because I really like LauncherPro.
@levman, I too like launcher pro but last I saw, Frederico stopped supporting it around Android 2.2 or so. Did he return to this project?
I guess 2.2 would work on this phone....or not.
Edit; I guess I should have said that Launcher Pro was last based off android 2.2. He of course re-wrote a ton of that code.
ADW.EX works fine, as does Apex/Apex Pro.
Nova is probably the best launcher available, some good customizable options in there

I just cant decide which one is the best. I prefer the pinch preview feature that launcher pro has. Works almost like sense ui's, but I like everything else on adw. Mainly the docks and functionality tweaks in the preferences menu. Launcher pro is a bit more snappy, but the pinch preview has gotten me hooked. But the sense ui scroll bouncing is way way better on adw. It gels mute like sense when I scroll. which do you prefer?

I like them both alot .....been using ADW for quite sometime,,,,back when you had to flash it before it was in market ....but now that Launcher Pro allows you to modify the app launchers I am starting to like it more .....
but now i just keep them both installed
I been using adw since it was a flashable zip as well. I remember emailing anderweb about putting it on the market. Still a great app, but launcher pro has upped the ante on better functionality.

I really like launcher pro....I tried Adw but thought laucher pro was visually nicer and faster.
They are both great launchers, I have both installed but currently using ADW. I think, at this point, the scales are tipped toward ADW for me. But you really can't go wrong either way, both great devs and they work in cooperation with each other helping with each others work to make it better. How awesome is that?
Using ADW and haven't tried LP yet.

Well if that's the case, then they need to combine their apps and create the ultimate masterpiece. their pretty much very similar in many ways. The two seem like fragments of what the apps are supposed to be. They just need to bring the two together and form like voltron!! they'll take over the market together.

ADW on Ic3 Rom here and I love it. I tried launcher pro briefly but I really like the layout of adw better.
LP for me. All the icons I use most are included, phone contacts ect...

I downloaded LauncherPro last week and then I reset my phone and now I can't find in the market anymore.

The developer has acknowledged some kind of problem with the market. You can download the apk from his website. I cannot post links but it is
www dot launcherpro dot com
Awesome! Thanks dude!
launcher pro!!!
it even has the option to make it look like AWD launcher!!
hahaah.. pwnage
Im on the launcher pro bandwagon. Its much better performancE wise. The main thing I like about adw is that 6 icon retractable dock and the way it scrolls. Feels just like sense when you configure it properly. It lags a lil tho. Lp is a lil more reliable, although it had its lags in some areas as well.
Sent from my desire200 using Tapatalk
Can't use LauncherPro b/c it requires Android 2.1 but ADW Launcher is great, and the latest version has the pinch-preview desktop switching now too.
Adw and launcher pro are now tied in my book.

So I have been using blur since the day I got it but wanted to see if there was any ics Fish stuff and there and I found this just kind of curious on if you guys ate using alternates or stick w stock launches I love it my self keep in mind its still in beta

Go launcher, before that I used launcher pro plus
I've kind of stuck with the blur launcher actually, but I DO use the Go Launcher on my Tab 7, because it is way better than what Samsung was shipping...
Go's a great launcher, with some great plugins. I believe the underlying engine is ADW....
Give this one a whirl its still in Chinese to start but I really like this one used to like adw ex but after update it became dumb IMO after it loads it converts to English kind of a mix of miuu and adw and has custom lock screens built in

If you want your phone to look like an iPhone, there is the espier launcher. Its not my every day launcher but I have it to show iPhone people that I can make my phone look just like there's but I'm not stuck with my phone looking like everyone else's excluding the wallpaper.
I personally use go launcher but used launcher pro and adw launcher in the past. I havent used a stock launcher in a very long time.

What's the best launcher for the N7? If other, please specify which one.
In my opinion, I enjoy using NOVA.
Nova
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I should've added Go Launcher to the poll.
I've never used a bad launcher. Apex is my current favorite. My least favorite was Go.
*nvm*
Nova for me, just like how they are showing the initiative

completely stock, Jelly Bean!
When using Samsung, HTC phones you become so jealous of the stock android launcher that it becomes an obsession.
Whilst touchwiz and sense offer some things that are better, as a past/current user of these phones, we just want to speed and compatibility that nexus devices can offer.
I don't think I'll ever root & install a custom rom on my Nexus 7, it's sexy, super fast & smooth & just what I wanted.
Enough to make me also consider a Nexus phone as my next phone too.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
I use go launcher ex, not the HD tablet version. The one for the phone just works better for me.
I like the paid version of Nova the best, but if I wanted a free replacement I'd go with Apex.
At the moment I like the stock launcher the best. I can't really seem to get either Nova or Apex to look the way I want them to.
Apex for some reason I can't have 6 rows in landscape mode, because the gap between the icons and the labels is larger than normal that the labels end up vanishing with more than 5 rows in landscape.
Also I don't like how the dock bar rotates with the screen.
Nova launcher seems to have gotten better after the recent update, I can move icons easier now. One cosmetic issue that bugs me though is I've turned off the google search bar, however in landscape mode it still shows the divider bar between where the search bar was and the rest of the screen on the left side. I really wish that could be removed.

Currently using apex pro, also use adw pro
But I have pre ordered chameleon which will dominate.

Nova is amazing, and blazingly fast. Very clear difference from Apex, which I used for a few days. Sticking with Nova Pro.
I like sslauncher. Different and loved it on my note as well. Just wished had more themes
From the Note to Nexus 7
Stock is great, using Nova to hide apps and sort apps into folders though, and is just as good
Using Nova Prime. Mimics 4.1 quite well and adds more function. No regrets. The reason I purchased Prime is because I already own Widget Locker and I chose to continue my support for the developer.

Does nova have the new jb launcher features like auto size and move /toss away effects?
I know apex doesn't.

Should also add Stock as well Not everybody uses a 3rd-party launcher
Has the scrolling wallpaper simply vanished, or did I miss the memo? My original Motorola Droid can still scroll wallpapers, and my terrible Samsung Droid Charge could right up to the second to last update. Fully expected the One to have this feature, but it seems to be missing/buried/disabled. Was this feature deemed too processor intense and abandoned? Did Google just decide it was ugly, or is there some other reason scrolling wallpapers would be disappearing from Android?
It's a Sense thing. Install a different launcher like Nova or Apex and there you can find scrolling background in the settings.

Apparently it's a touchwiz thing too, then. Why can't they just leave that option in and let users decide?
Well, if I get tired of this launcher I just may try out Nova and Apex. I've heard of them and have wondered how they compared to launchers that have been around longer like Launcher Pro.
There's an app called landscape wallpaper, it makes the wallpaper scrollable again

I stick to the sense launcher
The stock sense launcher is great and thats what I use!
I recently found action launcher which I really like. It's very functional and more minimalistic than most other launchers. If that's what your in to. There is a free version. Give it a try.

I stick to Sense. I don't know what it is, but every time I try and switch off of it, I always end up coming back. Even though they change it with every new flagship, I still stick with it. I've used Aviate, and while it's nice, it's just not for me.
I'm on sense right now, using xposed framework and sense 5 toolbox to get a 4.5 home screen. However, I also frequent nova launcher. It just depends on my mood, and I have them both installed pretty much all the time.
I like Trebuchet from AOSP

I visit in Asia most the user use HTC Mobile phone because it has been too many feature that you can use. After Nokia Lumia and I phone big brand that are using.
I use Themer. Wish it had a better drawer, but, I change up my themes so often its still the best option for me.
I use Nova Launcher Prime on all of my Android devices. Just find it to be fast and customizable to my likings
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
I like Go Launcher for its customization but I really love Nova Launcher. Love it so much I purchased prime. Its really fast and has a fair amount of customization. It also never crashes or gives me any problems. It's nice that a lot of the icon packs work on it as well.
Try Aviate. Pm me with your email I have 1 left

SS Launcher Paid version
I stumbled on SS launcher a couple of years ago when I still had the "EVO 4G". I have not looked back since, it is more flexible than any other I've tried. And I always get comments on it.
Check out Lightning Launcher on the play store.
Google Experience Launcher

Big +1 for Action Launcher. It has a free trial(!) now, even, so there really isn't an excuse to at least give it a whack. It's not perfect for everyone, but if it you can handle its paradigm it works really well. Aviate's also good, but the inability to hide apps (among other things) really killed it for me.
Agreed

I personally use Nova Launcher Prime also, it's never let me down. An customization for the drawer and home screen is cool. Being able to pull app info and uninstall on the home screen is a huge helper at times.
