You can select the USB mode in Settings > Xperia > USB Connection
UMS works only with the microsd, not with the internal memory.

CM9 Galaxy Note Nightly - USB Mount

I have installed the latest nightly for my galaxy note and I can't mount properly my storage. The USB prompt doesnt come up on the notification drawer.. Any ideas?
When plugging in your phone into usb, just go to settings-->Applications-->Development and check the USB debugging .If you can't mount SD Card and your pc doesn't recognise it then Your USB is bricked .. There is a tutorial on the forums that will help you with that : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691187
That's a known issue with CM, unfortunately. There are apps on the market that allow you to mount storage, although I use Airdroid.
Since using this I don't even care about the issue

Argh.. Are the devs aware of this? They need to fix it Also the phone randomly shuts off when the performance option is selected in the performance options..
Go to, setting> developer options and tick the usb debugging
Now go to settings> storage and press the menu key and choose the usb computer connection and tick the mass storage
Now you have the option of usb debugging in your notification when you connect your device to computer

Thanks for your advise, but it does not work at all... :crying:
The funny thing is that is used to work after installation of the nightley build 2 days ago. But suddendly it stopped working...
Even a re-install of the the older (or newer build) does not bring it back... :-(
Any other ideas?
With kind regards
Joe

Hmmm, the recent comments from users in Google Play (on the ad-version and the paid one) are very negative, and explicitly say that it does not work (anymore?) on CM9...
But I will give it a try today evening...
With kind regards
Joe
I am using Multi mount and its working fine

Try "USB mode switch for SGS1 on CM" from play store. I am using it on stock 4.0.4 and is working fine.
You mean STANDARD PC mass storage mode in ICS?
System settings>(under wireless and networks) More...>USB utilities>connect storage to pc
Then connect usb to phone.

As far as I know, this is not possible due to the changes of how the external storage is handled within the operating system. On stock Rom with stock kernel you are limited to camera and media device.
Best wishes,
Christian
İ found to how can i do this. İt is possible with application and working for Samsung Galaxy S4 series. You need BusyBox and Root.
Download USB Mass Storage Enabler from here
Download BusyBox from here
Connect ur device with your usb cable
Open the USB Mass Storage Enabler and tap to Mass Storage Mode
and its that.
Yeap, BusyBox and SG USB Mass Storage Enabler will do that for you.
It worked for me on 4.2 and 4.3 ROMs, but it no longer works in KitKat. Haven't yet found a way to enable it in KK.

How To Enable Nokia X2 USB Mass Storage?

Please Help me to Enable Nokia X2 USB Mass Storage... Thanks..
Look in standard system file manager (Explorer, My Computer). MTP mode only in our firmware.
For "safe remove device" in Windows you must install all drivers http://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-x2/general/direct-links-lumia-software-recovery-t3051923
