Since there isn't an "official" section for the kyocera rise, I hope that this is an appropriate place to put this post.
Anyway, I was able to create two android boot animations for the kyocera rise. Both of them are vocaloid and I will also attach a copy of the original boot animation and audio as a backup.
NOTE! YOU MUST BE ROOTED IN ORDER TO CHANGE YOUR BOOT ANIMATION!
NOTE! These boot animations will work on other devices but it will only show the animation at a resolution of 340x480. Meaning if the screen resolution is bigger than the animation resolution, it will center the image and it will have a black border around the animation. The opposite is also true, if the screen resolution is smaller than the animation resolution, it will crop out the image.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR DEFAULT BOOTLOADER
Extract "Kyocera Rise Boot Animation and Sound.zip". You will find two files: "bootanimation.zip" and "BoltAnimations.mp3".
Copy "bootanimation.zip" to "/system/media". Set permissions to "-rw-r--r--" or Owner to Read/Write and Group/Other to Read.
Copy "BoltAnimations.mp3" to "/system/media/audio/boot". Set permissions to "-rw-r--r--" or Owner to Read/Write and Group/Other to Read.
Reboot.
Original Virgin Mobile Boot Animation
Note! To remove the default boot animation audio, go into "/system/media/audio/boot" and find "BoltAnimations.mp3". Delete or change the extension to remove the boot animation audio.
INSTRUCTIONS
Copy file to "/system/media". (DO NOT EXTRACT!)
Rename file to "bootanimation.zip". (Backup or Overwrite the previous file.)
Change permissions on the file to "-rw-r--r--" or Owner to Read/Write and Group/Others to Read.
Reboot and enjoy!

Has anyone tried using ROM Toolbox Pro's boot animations?

Found some more boot animations for the Rise:
dropboxDOTcom/sh/x6bkfb5s7gqfey1/I79y9i5J4r
Replace DOT with a period in the above URL.
How to change Boot Animations:
1. download bootanimation.zip of choice (from link)
2. Move file to sdcard (skip this step if downloading from phone)
3. Move bootanimation.zip to system/media/ (use root explorer or es or somthing that gives u access)
Copy over/or replace the bootanimation.zip already in the folder
4. Fix permissions (rw-r--r--)
5. Reboot
Enjoy!

This is my first attempt at boot animations so i thought id share and see what you all think. Let me know if you like it or what i should do to make the next one better. Thanks.
made for 480X800
Installation:
1. get es file explorer or root explorer
2. mount the drive as writable
3. take the zip you download here and place it on the root of your sdcard
4. unmount the drive from your computer
5. go to system/customize/resource and rename the current VZW_bootanimation.zip to VZW_bootanimation.zip.bak to save it just in case.
6. move the VZW_bootanimation.zip you downloaded to system/customize/resource
7. restart and enjoy the new boot animation.
NOTE* your current bootanimation may be named something other than VZW_bootanimation if so simply rename the file you download to match that.*
ALSO* I used a gif creator online to make the below samples they are shorter and faster than the actual boot animations*

If it's too slow for you just change the fps in desc.txt but it should be ok
And before downloading, backup your previous boot animation by renaming it from htc_bootanimation.zip to htc_bootanimation.old

That's pretty cool. You should release that for other phones like the HTC One and the One X, easy way to fill up your thanks meter.

Hi,
I know we get bored by seeing that same old bootanimation in our mobile phones. So I made a custom boot animation for myself & now I am sharing this with all of you.
This is my first ever made boot animation so if you think there should be some changes or some errors occur (Freeze/Blank screen), pls make sure you comment your opinions.

Google Drive
Note -
I made this for my device so it is for 720×1280 pixel devices.
But if you like it then I will make it for different resolution devices or you can do it yourself with the help of Image Resizer. (Extract the zip file & resize the images in the folders to your device's resolution, then again compress it)
If there are some ideas (videos you think would make cool animations) for new bootanimations, Feel free to comment them.
And also hit the thanks button so that I will know you liked it or not.

Detailed Guide To Change Boot Animation (For Noobs)
Pre-requirements -
Rooted android phone

Thanks for the additional link to resize the image to make it suitable for my device. "Witcher 3 BootAnimation" right? I would surely use it to see whats new in that.

I will definitely make them for you all.
DISCLAIMER:
If you mess something up, do a search or speak up, someone or I will help. Chances are, others have had similar problems. However, I am not responsible for damages because you cannot read or took a mallet to your phone in frustration.
Also, anyone who wants to reuse/share/distribute/tweak these, go right ahead. That's why I included the original files for d/l. I do not mind, just post that the originals were found on XDA and posted by me. It's the honor system, use it and enjoy it.
If you need detailed instructions, there are tons of threads out there designed to help with boot animations. However, if you are having a very hard time getting any of these to work, post up, and I will try to help or just shoot me a PM.
SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the bootanimation for your device.
2. Change the name of the "zip" file to whatever name your phone uses for its animations. (i.e.: "bootanimation.zip" "VZW_bootanimation.zip" etc.)
3. Copy the zip file to your phone, doesn't matter if it's via USB cable to SDCARD, using ADB to push the file, or using your phone's browser to download the file directly from the link.
4. Copy, move, or place said files you downloaded and renamed into the directory where your boot animations are stored. Typically for most phones the directories are: /system/media - /data/local - or in most HTC phones /system/customize/resource/ and grant the required permissions to it.
SAMSUNG OWNERS:
Go to this thread if your boot plays distorted or does not work at all.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2063280
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Make sure to backup your old/stock boot animation if you haven't already done so. The easiest way is to use your favorite file explorer to rename the old boot animation to something like: "bootanimation.zip.bak".
BOOM! Done.
