check the Xperia Care;
Hold down power button + vol.up for 10 seconds >> after 3 short vibration release buttons.
it s force to shut down quickly.
then u can press power button to restart it.

Just encountered this, i think it happened when i used the power button when connected to the charger, a restart via power, vol + fixed as with you. Tried to get it to fail again but couldnt, no idea what caused it.
Hey, I've faced the same problem a few months ago. I just updated my software and it started working again. I hope this helped

Hello and happy new year!!!
I have a question for xperia T.
With my arc s a had many times to remove the battery when something went wrong with custom roms.
With Xperia T what can we do when phone is not responding at all?
Hold the volume+ and power button together until you feel the phone vibrate 3 times consectutively. This takes around 5 - 10 seconds.
Thanks a lot.
Holding down the volume+ and power button didnt work for me, tried at least 10 times. Had to remove the backcover/battery, which was a pain in the ass. Warranty probably void too -_-

Try the same action, but wait for the first vibrate and then let go, then try to turn on your phone, ive just tried it on my T i have here, and it works.
For me that combination worked, thanks !
But there is another combination : You have to press all physical buttons at the same time (power + vol+ + vol- + camera).

I think this is a placebo, it is only vol& power that has an effect, but could be wrong. I would like to know the facts about hardware button actions if anyone with the knowledge or skill could confirm? Thank you.

It's just vol+ and power.
Vol- and power takes screenshot.

Dude, I did not know that shortcut, I've been using power button menu, thank you pressed!! These are the kind of tips that deserve listing, do you have more!!!!??!!!! Perhaps Greg could add a "handy features" section to his guide!!
sent from my T, which is so good it nearly makes the tea. ;p
I will add that feature when I get back to my computer, and if people want to pm me with more useful tips I will add then as well.

How do I customise the signature on xda premium app?
How do i do a reboot on the Xperia Z?
If you meant to do the equivalent of a power off then power on:
Turn off your phone by holding down the power button for about 3 secs, then choose "Power Off"
To turn on, just press the power button again.
Note: this does not stimulate a battery pull. For that is another instruction again.

This has happened to me once and I recall someone else on the forum also had that issue. Just turn off the phone by holding the power and volume up together. The power button should work as normal after that.

Hi,
I have a Sony Xperia Z, the power button seems not working properly. May be i dropped the phone and broke some wire connection inside.
So when i press the power button, the button is not working everytime.
Is there way to wake up the phone (when the screen is black) by using the volume button?

No there is no other way, send it for a repair.
use the Q&A forum next time.
maybe installing a custom rom would let you unlock device with volume buttons.

^I'm pretty sure that's possible. Just head over to the Play Store and install "Anyunlock".
Although that's just a temporary workaround, so I'd suggest that you get it fixed soon!

Hi, Ive this ROG phone 2 Global vers.. Yesterday it suddenly died on me in the middle of me doing my work. The screen stuck at some point, then i quickly shut it down by holding power button. Now it cannot be turn on anymore.. I tried all the combination key doesnt work.. now it stuck at Black screen.. no charge indicator or vibrate or anything.. May i know how to fix it?? I tried vol down / vol up + power button and Vol up + vol down + power button.. neither both doesnt work..
Did you try the volume+power button and hold for about 15 to 20 seconds? Also, have you leave the power plugged in for a couple hours?
