Did you even read the specs of the Note before buying it ?
The Note(GT-N7000) doesn't support NFC
it's better you sell your Note and get the Note 2 (when Sammy will release it), perhaps that comes already with NFC that you truly desire for.

+1
LOL
I think it can only be activated with the samsung battery that was seen on many photos at the galaxy note release, because you would need the antenna inside it to use nfc. But i have not seen samsung selling any of these batteries yet.

Don't you think there may soon be also any sort of 'smart covers' with nfc antennas inside?

Most versions of the GT-N7000 do NOT have NFC. It is extremely RARE to find.

Samsung has put the design of the NFC in the N7000.. Not sure what their plan is when it comes to the rollout to the public.. I was able to see it on the schematics of the N7000..
You can look it up on Dr. Ketan's toolbox.. Galaxy note Service manual..

Anyone managed to put the note 2 os on to the note yet?

I have been watching videos on youtube and the note 2 is pretty epic...the way you can have two apps running on the same page just like a laptop etc just looks pretty epic.
If some one has done it, link me to it, or if someone is in the process and it comes out in time, then remember me and link me to it
Lol thanks guys

It's part of the new Touchwizz framework so sources aren't available and we can't port the note 2 roms to the note because it's different hardware and drivers. There's a chance they'll include some of the note 2 features such as pick up to answer in the jb official release but that's all speculation at this point, just have to wait.

But surely if someone has managed to get HTC sense working (is) on the note then the drivers etc should not be to hard?
Well it would be hard for me but I have no idea what so ever lol
I really hope someone does it at some point, because it does look rather impressive.

I believe HTC release the source code for sense to their developer network, whereas samsung don't.

When will US get the mini?

I am interested in this phone but dont see it anywhere yet, so when will the US get it? Is there a cdma version also or just gsm?
I think for now it's just GSM. And if you want the GSM version, just do what I did and buy it off of Amazon.
buying it on a carrier is verry dificult because apple sue samsung and the s3 mini is in the ban list
i heard that samsung can't sell their stuff to US due Apple ban list.. the only way is use amazon..
I've read comments like "why getting the mini if you can get the bigger and better S3 for cheap in the US?" i'm not sure if this is true though.
In my country the S3 is ridiculously expensive, the mini was a nice alternative for half the price and half the specs, but i'm very happy with it.
How much is the S3 in your country? It's about 700€ here.

I think it wont work, phone needs to have special hardware support to use it. There is also that one called C-pen, that one might work, but in my opinion, its nothing special, and is not effective as S-pen for sure.

I really don't need the special features, I just want to handwrite and draw better

Never mind, any stylus will do for standard use. I tested the cheapest one at Sanborn's store a and it worked fine

What is the point of this thread other to hate and start a war? If you don't like Touchwiz, then simply don't buy a Samsung phone. So simple, nobody is forcing you to buy a Samsung phone. End of story, end of thread.

How about a video where the S5 isn't updating apps while the guy is doing the comparison?
This OP dude has nothing else to do. He opened the same thread somewhere else

Clearly he isnt contributing but looks more like a troll.
I'm not sure why you wanted to show proof of what many of us already know but around here that kind of talk could get you burned at the stake... Gonna close this before everyone finds out where you live and tars and feathers you... Everyone take it to YouTube where this belongs... Or Samsung...
