Hi,
I just got my Xperia Tx today and realized that it has the quicklaunch bug on ICS. It's currently on 7.0.A.3.197. I had connected it to PC Companionship for updates and it says my phone is up to date.
Is that the latest firmware? If not, how do I update it to the newest existing one?
Did anybody experience quick launch bug while they were on 3.197 as well?
Thanks
Ve

Yep, at this time it's newest firmware for your area(same for me) . Some other areas have newest firmware. 212. In 197 firmware, there's some bug as sleep of death, battery percentage showing.. Hoping this will be fixed in 4.1
Sorry for my bad english
Flash a ftf using flashtool to update to the latest available firmware. Find the ftfs in the all in one thread and flash tool in the dev section.

Sony did not update the Xperia V in Taiwan to the original 9.1.A.0.490 Jelly Bean firmware. Instead, the update went straight over to the new 9.1.A.0.492 firmware, which I have made into an FTF in the link below. Firmware includes some regional apps, all of which can be uninstalled.
EDIT: It is pretty obvious that the .492 firmware is not a large update in any sense, and could very well be a regional push-out update with minor bug fixes. On personal experience, I have not had any SOD issues (though I haven't had that on the old ICS firmwares either), but the weather widget still causes menu stutters and the Walkman app still has glitches in playback when switching tracks (long pauses).

I just hope that the bugs in .490 is being fixed with this new update.

for me this fw still have SoD. I go back to telenor FW, cause it's no SoD
I do not know if this happened to you guys, but I can't connect to my telco's data network using this ROM.
I'll be playing around with another kernel with this ROM and see how it'll turn out to be...
Edit> I just realised I need to manually set my telco's APN for this. Now it appears to be fine for now.

Is it only Taiwan who has .492 yet?
Apparently. Singapore hasn't got it yet.

no connection with ADB - according to flashtool, when I plug the phone in it says that ADB is off. If I don't have Sony PC companion open, the phone doesn't get recognized at all.

No bug is still here

Thanks I thought so, been running pc companion and it's telling me I'm Upto date, any ideas? Thanks
update pccompanion.
Or flash a JB ftf found in the all in one thread
Thanks I'll look into JB having the latest PC Companion and its telling me I'm upto date
I flashed my Xperia ZR from 4.2.2 to 4.1.2 (C5503_10.1.1.A.1.310_GLOBAL-LTE.ftf) found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2384512
But now the phone itself nor the pc companion software is not offering me an update to 4.2.2 firmware.
When I first got the phone then pc companion automatically offered an update to 4.2.2 but not anymore.
Is there an easy fix to get the OTA update working? thanks!
First of all, why did you flash from 4.2.2 back to 4.1.2??
Well... following the same thread in your link, you can manually flash it back to 4.2.2 when your OTA is not working.

i wanted to root 4.1.2 and then get it updated to 4.2.2 while keeping the root.
anyway i already have manually flashed to 4.2.2 but still waiting for a possible solution.
and i really would like to know the reason why C5503_10.1.1.A.1.310_GLOBAL-LTE.ftf did not offer me any updates.
You can follow the instruction in this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2392865
No promises though!
Hi,
I have a ZR with the unmodified stock 4.1.2 firmware. PC companion still hasn't offered the 4.2.2 update for me. The customization region of my phone is generic Hong-Kong. Has anybody with the Hong-kong region got the update yet?

I had the Hong Kong version until a day ago I didn't receive the new update and couldn't be bothered waiting so was forced to try out flash tool and flash the Nordic version of 4.2.2

is it true that the pc companion never actually checks the actual firmware version of your phone but instead relies on the data stored in a server, which keeps record of your phones mac address and the latest upgrade done to that phone with that specific mac address?
since my first upgrade was from 4.1.X to 4.2.2 through pc companion then the server stored information stating that my phone with MAC address xyzc has been upgraded to 4.2.2 and wont offer any more upgrades unless something newer than 4.2.2 is released. even if i downgraded back to 4.1.2- according to the server's records my phone "was flasehd" and still "must be" using version 4.2.2.
atleast that is what i read somewhere
Anyone in India get the 4.2.2 update yet?

Try PC companion. As of yesterday I have tested the 4.1 versions of HK, RUSSIA, GLOBAL firmware to see which ones will receive 4.2 update. Only RUSSIA firmware updated to 4.2 via PC Companion.

Can you please let me know how to find out what firmware my phone has? I think mine was imported from Hong Kong but I'm not sure. I didn't even know there was a global version. There was a post somewhere with some service menu commands to list firmware but that was just a string of numbers, I could not tell that it was global or Nordic or hong Kong... Thanks!

Hi all. Recently updated from Xperia Arc to Xperia Z (C6603).
Brand new from the shop, current firmware is 10.1.A.1.434.
I have notification saying update available 10.3.A.0.423, while PC Companion says update available 10.3.1.A.0.244.
I am after root, but few questions.
A) Which is the latest firmware update?
B) Which is the better firmware to be on?
C) Which firmware do i need to be on to root?
Thanks in advance!

Usually you can flash an FTF via a flashtool of different firmwares as long as you do not change your basebands.
Download an FTF from general section, use flashtool (google it and download it with proper drivers) and go ahead and flash the latest ftf but DO NOT CHANGE basebands.
Also, you can google how to use Flashtool. There are plenty guides on XDA.
Make sure you use device specific FTF or you would brick your device . So be very careful.
Quote me back if you expect a reply. Good Luck
