Unlocked bootloader = No OTA updates? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, i'm a noob to rooting coming from iOS so sorry if this sounds like a stupid question.
I have just unlocked the bootloader of my HTC One using the method on the HTC Dev site and i noticed
that some of the stock applications were missing. After a little research it would seem that because of the missing stock
apps i can no longer receive OTA updates.
I just want to know if this is in fact the case and if there is anything i can do to fix it such as
find copies of the missing apps and put them back on the device.
I was only planning to root for the time being but am now worried that i will no longer receive updates
Any help welcome

Once a Ruu is out you can Ruu your phone which will wipe everything and restore it to factory then take the OTA then just root again. I'm sure other solutions will come to be but for now that's one way to go about it.

Unfortunately, I think you'd have to re-lock in order to flash an RUU. Only way I can think of is comparing the missing files and push them to the device again after rooting.

Solution = backup sd, relock phone, ruu phone, take ota, HTC dev unlock, restore sd, flash recovery, flash Rom

If you are able to go into recovery, it's not bricked. Most likely when booting up for whatever reason you have a bootloop. I would do a nandroid backup and then I would try a wipe. If this doesn't help, I would re-flash the rom, but without having the phone's details it's a bit difficult to give you a suggestion.

Can You help me? When I trying to mount usb storage and put other rom in sd card. My computer reboot instantly
That's your computers issue not your phones, at least very unlikely your phone is the issue.
If you have soff and an engineering bootloader just flash the ROM with fastboot, no need to put it on your SD card

[Q] Recovery Error

I'm on Android 4.2.2 and would like to upgrade to Android 4.3 OTA. However, I rooted my phone previously and change the recovery to CWM.
Due to camera error and release of 4.3 OTA in my country, I got a stock recovery from one of the thread in XDA here and flash it using Flashify. However, I got errors while upgrading using OTA. After the recovery tries to flash the OTA, halfway it turns the icon red. I'm not sure what's happening as I'm new here.
Please advice.

Are you still on your stock Rom? Did you remove something?
Are you rooted?
You bootloader is locked-relocked?

Yes, I'm on stock Rom but removed some stock apps. Is this causing the problem?

Yes I'm rooted. Bootloader in unlocked too.
Yes the Rom has to be completely stock.
About the Bootloader: I'm not sure if you have to relock it. There was no need for it on my OneX, but it could be different on the One

hi guys.. Previously s off, unlocked and supercid.. I need to send it back for warranty that way I lock it..
Is it OK if I send it like this? Or fix it?
And how can I fix it? I've read that I need to flash a firmware.. 2x? Can I do it with locked bootloader and s on?
Thanks

Its very risky flashing a firmware.zip if ur S-ON. It would be much better to Unlock and S-OFF before flashing the firmware. Flash the 3.62.401 firmware TWICE in command prompt. I believe the issue was that you didn't flash the firmware twice. Its better to ensure that the issue is fixed before sending it for repair and claiming warranty

GPe conversion and problems

Hi everyone
So, I converted my One (M7) in a Google Play Edition, using the RUU method.
I want to get back to the Sense ROM, but the problem is I have been set the CID to HTC__203 of course, I was S-OFF and Locked bootloader (using HTC1Guru tool) plus I had a custom recovery
When I wanted to flash the RUU of Sense ROM, my bootloader got S-ONized, but the RUU didn't flash.
So what I have now is an HTC One with a custom recovery that I can't access because of the S-ON and the Locked state.
It's not bricked, I can boot it but it's not rooted.
Is there any ways to gain S-OFF and get access to the recovery again?
I hope my explanations are clear, sorry if I have a bad english, I'm french
EDIT If this can help, here's a screenshot of fastboot getvar all

Since you're s-on, you need to unlock bootloader and flash custom recovery all over again
Hi! Thank you for your answer
I tried to unlock my One using fastboot oem unlock, it didn't work
I tried to unlock using HTCDev method and it didn't work...
So I'm a bit disappointed I don't really know what to do

htc desire 626s- developer version

it is still on android 5.1 while carrier models are on 6.0... i'm wondering if the boost roms (for example) are compatible with this phone, as it's upsetting how a developer version does not get updates while the other models do- i actually didn't buy the at&t version because i did not want the bloatware and wanted timely updates straight from htc.
but i've searched this forum and can't find any info on that model.
I would try to flash it with the metro-pcs RUU.
If you check the thread for downgrading the 626 you will find a metro - pcs android 5.1 RUU there.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-626/development/metropcs-htc-626s-to-lollipop-t3460391
Extract the rom.zip from the ruu. You can find instructions for that on this forum.
Then rename the rom.zip to 0PM9IMG.zip and copy to sd card.
Put sd card in phone.
Boot into download mode.
Hit volume up to flash ruu.
After quick reboot hit volume up again.
Now ruu will fully load.
After lollipop is loaded do the same for the marshmallow rom.
All Depends on what your device CID is.
What is your CID ?
hi, my cid is BS_US001
