[Q] Help- Need help to root lg optimus black v20E

hi guys im running on gingerbread 2.3.4 V20E and i cant root my device. iv tried unlock root, gingerbreak superone click but doesn't work. also i gave tried blackjack v1.2 but i didnt get proper root access. HELP! thanks for reading!

No exploit will work... LG fixed that.. damn lg
Anyways why did not you search before, there are a no of threads regarding rooting.
Use cwm injection method and flash your rom again. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1512203
By the way you should try other custom roms here as well rather than stock.

First of all, since you're new to this board please read the Welcome To The LG Optimus Black Section..... (Please Read If You're New)
Also, read the [HOW TO]The Big N00B how-to! since it will answer most of your questions.
Second, if you would have searched you would have found your answer already, but i'll help you (i'm in a good mood today too ).
You can find an already rooted v20E firmware HERE.
Just follow the steps from THIS post but instead of using the V20B firmware files use the ones from the V20E firmware (i've already given the link to the V20E above).

Can't wipe data/factory reset
hello i just flashed my optimus black with smartflash as instructed i boot into recovery but however when i select wipe data there is no "yes" option to select i can only select no! HELP

Are you on cwm touch??? If you are, then yes option will be below the no. Scroll down with your volume rocker...

Smartflashtool has stopped working
Hi, my OB also has v20E firmware installed by default. I 've tried to root the phone by using smartflashtool method that has already been described above. However, whenever I tried to root my device, it always ended up in failures. The smartflashtool program either showed "Timeout error is occurred" (sometimes) up or "Smartflashtool MFC has stopped working" (most of the times) at various points in the rooting progress
I used all of the programs mentioned on the posts above but still no luck
- Installed LGSmartPhone_ModemlinkDUNDrive_WHQL_ML_Ver_1.0
- Installed LGWindowsMobile_USBDriver_WHQL_ML_Ver_1.0
- Installed LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN36AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.6

And currently, my phone cannot boot into the main phone screen (it can only display LG logo at best). Please help!

Hi, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to the point where the phone was rooted successfully (100%), whenever I tried to run B_SmartFlashTool_Extern.exe, it always ended up in error. What did I do wrong? I've used the appropriate files and installer, haven't I? Now, I'm totally freaked out because my phone has run out of battery and doesn't show any sign of charging even though I've connected the charger
Oh by the way, I've already used the patch rom for V20e, but still no avail and already tried running the program with admin rights

Ok, I'm totally freaked out now. I can't even start the S/W update mode anymore although I've been charging the phone for about 15 minutes. No, I don't know how to use r&dtt method, tried to read the post but I don't which one is r&dtt method. Can you help me? I've checked the charger and it felt warm after 15 minutes of charging though

Hi, I just root rights to V20O not only to root recovery, how to do it. Recovery mode without dissolving it.

I have been using zeus v7.6 perfectly untill today. While i was texting someone the screen started wobbling arround. (behaving a bit like the windows xp error message when you move it arround and it leaves a trail behind it). i tried restarting in recovery mode but freezed on the lg logo, having a small faint wite line at the bottom of the screen. I have tried smartflash tool with no succes, and i have also tried the script from the cotkey, but it gets stuck at the first step. Also, i cannot interact with the KDZ updater ... I could really use some help, as i cannot afford a new phone :-/

Have you tried to remove battery and connect the phone by usb to pc, pressing vol + button?

Yes, i have entered S/W mode. Smartflash tool finds my phone, i set the CP and AP bin, it tells me it finished with the ""TADA"" noise and my phone restarts... well, it doesnt start, it just stays on the lg logo with the lights flashing :-/. I have tried many different versions but none starts :-/ Thank you for replying btw

I have tried it allready in the past with no succes :-/ idk why, but last time i managed to unbrick it it had quite a bit of luck involved... my basic problem is that im from a laptop and its in greek. theres something wrong with the language and i can only see symbols ... ill try again in the evening and ill let you know

Looks strange... do you also have a log of sft? And do you run those programs as admin? You re on XP right? Did you already disable your antivirus? Try another usb port/pc? Are you sure yourr files are good? Maybe dl the v20s from my noob how to and compare md5 sums afterwards.

Did you run sft as admin? And follow the readme? You have to disable something in the device manager.

great, lg emergency recovery tool tells me this model is not supported for upgrading =.=

Similar problem, I was on Huexs´s 6.4, was rooted, recovery was working, then I flashed v30d by tantrums, was using it without problems, then some problems with sd card, from that point I am not able to run recovery, so I tried to flash patched v20 with Smartflash, but when it goes to rebooting, it always stay in bootloop. Only way for me is flash v30b, then root it with Unlockroot, but thats all, I can normaly use phone rooted, but I am not able to push to phone recovery image, so I can not flash any zip file ( like new kernels. etc.).

Managed to flash V30b
i managd to flash the v30b by the kdz updater but... Everything was working normally. I shut off the phone so i can go to sleep and i put it to charge. the picture i got is the lg logo with a white faint line down the bottom of the screen again. I unplug the charger and remove the battery. The next morning it worked perfectly again for aprox. 9 hours, that i was at school. Then i try texting my gf and the pictures below show what happened... WTH? Any help would be deeply appreciated :-/

@robusto try flashing v30B. then root your OB and flash TWRP recovery. You can do it like this:
1. Install goomanager
2. Open goomanager and provide root permision
3. Hit menu and choose 'Install OpenRecovery'.
Now you have TWRP Recovery and you should be able to flash any .zip file.
It worked for me.
(or you can get twrp recovery just by pushing the twrp recovery image file using terminal emulator).

any idea on how can i restore my imei from the S/W upgrade screen?
the lg united tool reads wrong imei and does not even start upgrading.

I am now on stock V30B Europe, rooted by unlockroot, uninstalled garbage and apps, whitch I dont need, using Holo launcher and LMT and am satisfied, bechmark with antutu 3100. Only I am not able change kernel, what could be phone speed up, but nevermid. I can live with it. Only can be good to convert some kernel.zip to same file, whitch can be flashed with kdz flasher or smartflashtool. Anyway thanks for ideas.

HeinekenAmstel, try to left out of phone the battery for one day, then try to flash kdz v30b for your country from here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=1, but connect phone to PC without battery in. And may be is good to do it on PC with WIN XP. For me this is working better then on PC with WIN7. Good luck.

First things first I'm a big noob when it comes to tweaking/flashing/anything with a phone; and life just confirmed it.
All I wanted was to make pics without shutter sound, to capture powerpoint screens in college instead of having to write ten sentences in 10 seconds. I couldnt just turn the shutter sound off! After some reading I thought I needed to both get my P880 rooted and needed CWM Recovery; I managed to do everything exactly as stated here:

After that I tried to install this rom via CWM Recovery -> install from SD/zip file -> CWM_deodex_rom_v10e_signed.zip

I did that because this mod had the camera mod I wanted installed already.. The installation went fine, the phone stated.
But when I hit reboot, it got stuck in bootloop.. All I can do now is press PWR + Vol down (read that after some googling) and enter 'Android system recovery <3e>'.
It shows this list of options (above a picture of a dying android with a red exclamation mark on top of it)
reboot system now (done that few times now, gets stuck in bootloop everytime.. Well I think it's that. It gets stuck at the LG screen, it's my interpretation that that is the correct use of the word bootloop)
apply update from external storage (well please dear lord let there be an escape through this option)
wipe data/factory reset (no results after hard resetting, still bootloop)
wipe cache partition (did this too)
apply update from cache (not this, why whould I)
wipe nv partition (did this too)
Toggle Console VART Log (and well, I don't think this option's going to save me)
I wanted an option to turn off the shutter sound. Well, things changed. Right now I'm willing to do anything to get the phone back to life! Google couldn't really help me out.. Well better stated: I can't help myself out using google, so I'm asking for your help! Please all XDA tweakers, modders, hackers, etc. unite and help! It is appreciated A LOT! Please state what I need to do now, I just want to get it back to a working state. Or please confirm that it is not completely BRICKED ;x

Status: Downloading the LG Mobile Phone Software Update program. Est time left: 44:40 for 400mb.. Nice server

Use compatible .dll depending if its v10x or v20a.
Search a little, there's a lot of info about that

Wait, my stock v10c's camera already had the function to mute the shutter sound. Why did you need to do anything else?

I managed to get my hands on the latest version of LGNPST - I suppose that's what you mean with LGFlash Tool.
But how do I know if the phone is v10x or v20a.. ? I think all methods to look that up are blocked, since Im in bootloop with only android system recovery <3e>

[L7] Unbrick L7 (soft-brick)

Hi guys. My name is Alvaro, I'm from Argentina. It's the first thread I ever post to a forum, but this time I felt it was really necessary for users who can be in the same situation as I was, just minutes ago.
I have an LG P705 and, thanks to these forums, I started messing around with it, and managed to root it and flash some very good roms. The problem is, as I was trying to install a new screen locker, I installed a new framework-es.apk, which resulted in a bootloop. My first thought was "Ok, I just have to boot into recovery and flash a new ROM". The problem was, I couldn't boot into it. I had CMW Touch installed, and, after trying a lot of button combinations, I just couldn't boot into it. I only could boot into Emergency mode. I did some research, and so I downloaded the official LG Mobile Support Tool, and, after that, the KDZ, in order to unbrick my phone. Everyhing went well with the LG tool, until an unknown error related to drivers, appeared after 99% of process. I tried in different computers, x86 and x64, notebooks and PCs, and all of them showed driver problems which didn't allow the upgrade to succeed. So I tried with the KDZ, flashing a V10a ROM. The problem was, this time, that an upgrade error showed up at the end, saying "wparam=100 lparam=6". I searched in the Internet, but I found nothing. I was desesperated.
So here's how I unbricked my phone:
- Installed the official LG United Mobile drivers, provided by LG in its official site
- Downloaded KDZ Updater
- Downloaded the V20a ROM with root and CMW (it's really important to use this one): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2214717 (thanks Homero2 so much!)
- Installed the msxml file in the KDZ folder
- Ran KDZ_FW_UPD.exe as administrator
- Set it to 3GQCT and DIAG, opened the V20a kdz file and pressed "Launch software update"
- I still got a lparam error, but here's the great thing about this ROM. Even though I still got a bootloop, I MANAGED TO GET INTO RECOVERY! Instructions: Press the power button and the volume - button at the same time. When capacitive buttons turn up, press the menu button. When LG logo appears, release the power button
- After that, I pushed a downloaded ROM (zip file) to my SD card and installed it via CMW succesfully!

Hey guys, I tried the KDZ method but it doesn't found my device. Tried to push a ROM into adb and still the error device not found. I realised that I can't mount my sdcard for some reason. Now I can only access CWM recovery mode. I found this threat and tried to follow it to cure my sdcard but it seems to only applied to HTC-one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630459 Iam a totally noob about this stuff and very confused right now. Please help me, does anyone here can save my phone????

Have you installed all the drivers needed?
You can't access to the sd probably because you have the wrong version of cwm, it's appened to me too,
I've unbrick my phone in aguantealvaro's way,
try to unistall/reistall the drivers needed and hope for the best

where can I find a flashable stockrom guys ?
or I just have to compress the sockrom downloaded before ?

sgh-t599 recovery / restore

I got this sgh-t599 tmobile phone yesterday. (didn't realize it was rooted) messed around/did factory reset without backup.
now im stuck in CWM recovery 6.0.3.6, Ive spent several hours readind and trying to fix this with no luck.
I tried using adb, kies etc. none can detect device. device drivers are installed(tried 'have disk'), it shows Samsung under device manager.
I can device list in adb and shows the numbers and "recovery" but when i try to use commands it says "waiting for device" or something.
from what i read, i need unsecure boot to restore firmware. where can i get this and how do i do it pls.
i have no mount usb option in cwm, when i try to recover/update from cwm it says aborted. in adb im able to reboot the phone with the commands but always reboots to cwm recovery or waiting for device. any help pls. i may have access to another rooted t599 if i am able to backup and recover it to this phone?:crying:
do you think local phone repair shop can fix this back to stock or rooted and for how much?

You must have format system or something. A factory reset wipes cache and data, nothing else. There should be a homebrew odin-file somewhere in these t599 threads.

phone was rooted and had superuser etc on it. I didn't know about rooting, I did factory reset from the main menu which im pretty sure is what caused this. before that I was able to look through its apps where I saw the superuser,terninal and others, once factory reset it rebooted to cwm recovery and stuck there. there was no backup or side sdcard. only realized it was rooted after saw the cwm and stuck
odin doesnt detect phone either, downloaded/installed universal drivers still no go.
main issue is not being to able enable usb debug/download while still in cwm
repair shop says $30, about to run there

i caused my friends sgh-t599 to do that
So... This might be late.... But I'm going to postthis for others .... So I was looking for ever for a way to unbrick his phone... Then hope Finley came .. After I read hard enough .. And came across a post for a stock pre-rooted tar file to be flashed with Odin...

Thank you very much.I looked for a stock rom/recovery image.etc.took me a while till I came across with this .it was a metro pcs/exhibit sgh_t599.I bricked it playing with it.u no.uninstalling unnecessary apps.lol.so my wife got mad.cause is not the first one.

Hello guys , i got a very serious problem here . i'm using samsung galaxy exhibit t599 .
The problem is , why is the signal of my phone always EDGE .
if i setting to Wcdma only (3G) , the signal is gone ,it just like the provider isn't supporting 3G , but it is support . I already trying another provider , the same thing always happen.
pleasee help me , do u guys have any suggestion about what i am suppose to do ?

1§t: put sgh-t599 in download mode(vol.down+home+power).... Plug in and press vol. Up
2ed: Open odin 3.09.. Wait for added to show up (mite have to unplug then re plug the phone)..
Click on AP and find 0B8oW93h4qD3-X3UxdFl5VlhzZVU.tar
........ It should take awhile ......
Then after you're phone boots up... An after you set everything up
.... GET two apps from the play store
° install one of the superuser apps
° then get a root checker as app
^EXTRAS(maybe needed)
°one of BusyBox apps from play store
° SU checker app from the play store
HOPE EVERYTHING WORKS WELL FOR ANYONE WHO NEEDS THIS TO ATTEMPT TO UNBRICK YOU'RE DEVICE

Awe not going to lie but it's been a long time sense then lol but I have had success flashing ROMs from different veriants of models but to be safe I would download this specific one( http://d-h.st/Z5c )just to be safe an then fallow my steps.
