Hi guys, is it possible to install the stock email apps from HTC or samsung on to the z?
I find the built in email app to be garbage and the others I've tried from the App store are pretty bland.

I've tried it and it's the best so far but it still falls short compared to so many stock mail apps on other phones I've used. I'm struggling as to what to do next.
Surely there must be a way to get the htc mail app as it's so much better
Have you found the solution?

Well might just be me, but what more do you need than be able to read mail, send new mails and scroll?

I'm curious if an all-in-one messenger exists or is even possible, and i'm not just talking about having Facebook or a.i.m on the same app. I'm looking for something more like how BlackBerry users messaging app works, where when an e-mail arrives, and a text arrives it will all show up in the same app with the click of one button.
If any already exist or if this is even possible any news would be wonderful
Thank you in advance.
Im not sure but maybe Nimbuzz does what you are looking for!

Hi, has anyone found a way around the awful exchange mail fomatting on the Optimus 2?
My emails are just all plain text in one big long, hard to read line and all squashed up.
I have tried both options in relation to HTML formatting but doesnt seem to make any difference.
Thanks.

I have a rooted/rommed wifi-only S1 and my GF has a Blackberry 9780. She is currently overseas for X amount of time and the only way we can talk is by calling each other which is extremely expensive, or using skype which means she has to borrow a friend's laptop or android device. She has service on her phone over there, unsure of what type of plan.
I came up with the idea of using my old BB 8330 and figuring out how to use BBM or something similar on wifi-only, but it turns out that 'ol phone doesn't have wifi on it. It's too bad I sold my last BB some time ago which was an 8530 and had wifi. Oh well.
Anyways, I'm now wondering if there's an app I can use on my S1 that she can also use on her 9780 that would allow us to text and or talk. Something like BBM that doesn't require me to have service or a data plan. I imagine there's at least one app out there that would do this and also be available to BB users.
Thanks.
What about the WhatsApp Messenger by WhatsApp Inc. In the Play Store ?

I read somewhere that it uses your phone number but can't seem to confirm that.
I'm pretty sure we can use KIK but it's text only. I may be getting greedy with wanting text and talk, but having both would be awesome.
Does her phone have a browser? If so, you could use any site like ebuddy to talk. Or even get on something like palringo (dunno if there's a bb version?) but there must be something alike.

She has service and we *think* her data is unlimited. She also has a wireless router at her flat so wifi helps if the data is limited/costly.
We're trying to use apps over our current methods or using something browser based mainly for convenience. Something like whatsapp or KIK would work perfectly from what I understand, but they're text-only. Not a huge problem, but if I can find text+voice that would be great. Skype is normally the answer to that question but her phone, or more specifically her service provider, isn't compatible with skype from what I'm seeing.

Then ebuddy would most likely be your answer. It has chat + voice/video and is browser based.

I went with Kik for now. It's actually a pretty cool messenger app. Clean and fast.
I haven't yet found anything that covers both messages and voice in app form other than skype which I confirmed is not compatible with her model of phone.

Preferring to stay away from browser since apps are far more convenient and because browsers always run very sluggish on my cappy for some reason.

Should hassle Ebuddy to make a app then lol
But if you wanna try it, there's a bare naked browser (ugly but fasssst) on here. Called naked browser I believe.

Looks like the exact app I need and it's compatible with blackberry. Will give it a try. Thanks!
ETA: Looks like Blackberry devices can not use the VoIP feature yet but they say it will be available eventually.
Turns out you need a number for viber and my device is wifi-only. After some research I found that you can use any phone number that can receive SMS because it's for them to send you a registration PIN. I tried both my GV and Heywire numbers and haven't received that text on either one. :\
Hi, I recently switched from paranoid JB to Angry 3.6. For me it's working well - room is smooth and battery life is good and I get multi screen on custom DPI.
But the tabletaddress TW email is not working well and I use the phone to do work emails a lot. It's there a way that I can download theASOP email app and install it via titanium? Where would I be able to find the latest ASAP email app (from gapps?)
Thanks!
play store

enhancede mail, k9, pick your favorite

Thanks all. K-9 I think doesn't support Exchange 2010 so unfortunately couldn't try it... ended up changing the DPI settings on the email and it's sufficient for now. Will wait to see if i can find that perfect ROM with the right balance of features but for now Angry is good enough...

How do I send a contact via sms
Usually I click and hold on a number and there should be a copy option
As I understand. Not everyone can recieve a VCARD?
Go to People.Find contact you want to send, open it and click options-there is option SEND CONTACT and that's it.
Tried sending to my wife's iphone
She never got the sms
I guess it's because iPhone cannot receive the format it's sending in?
I just want to send the text in an sms
I cannot believe this simple feature doesn't exist
It works for me but i use go sms pro, lets u send it in sms format.

Iphone or not, it's not cross platform
Therefore it's bad design
I'm a software dev, i don't say that ie10 isn't standards compliant therefore I won't develop sites for it
No, a good system will be cross platform, particularly when iOS has a huge chunk of the market
I'm basically going to have to ask everyone if they have an iphone or not
A simple copy option is all that is required (I could be writing a word document and need to copy and paste)
Anyway, pointless rant as you don't work for google, but thanks for contributing
I installed that messaging app but it defaults to the HTC message app when I try and send the contact
