So this is my first non-nexus device and I wan't to know if there will be custom roms of the latest version of Android available. I looked at the current roms available and they are all on 4.1. When Android 5.0 comes out, I want to get it ASAP and not have to wait for HTC forever.
Yes.

Any confirmation? Stability of roms? How fast the custom roms will catch up to the latest version of Android? etc.

Of course there will, when sources are released there will be new ROMs based on them.
I think what Gary is getting at is how long before HTC get there act together and incorporate Sense into the latest version. Well with my One X Jellybean was announced in June 2012 and we didnt see a full stable custom Rom until around September/October time.

What is wrong with you?
Confirmation? What do you want blood.
Stability? How the Hell are we ment to know that? If a custom Rom says alpha/beta it will be buggy.
Don't like it buy a nexus.

Did you think that ever will be released?

Hi, Sure... But when???
Here in Sweden we just got 4.1.2. So i assume we have some monts of waiting..
Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie will be revealed for the new Google Phone during Google I/O in May 2013.
So hope to get the 4.2 in May.
Exact but it is not small differences between the 4.1.2 and the 4.2..So i prefer to update direct to 5.0
Hi,
scumpi if I'm sure of something about you is you'll not wait until the 5.0 realease before a next flash.

As been mentioned cm10.1 almost up and running on lte ...ive tryed it myself not bad like been said few bugs but nothing that wont be fixed within couple of weeks at most with luck..Not reall any full time let alone part time developers really working on it...maybe now the thing actually runs pretty well they might get there butts in to gear and finish rom off..lol and we shall become bloody enlightened with there wisdom...
Sv: JB 4.2 to i9300/9305
It would be nice to see it came alive so we can try...

Now there is both CM10.1 in alpha and a RC of LiquidSmooth.
None of them is perfect yet, but with the speed of development the last couple of weeks I think its just a matter of days.
As mentioned in the previous posts, yea there are roms for 4.2.1/2 already! like CM10.1 and Liquidsmooth (4.2.2)
Personally I would say go for LiquidSmooth. For now, it has better support and lesser bugs
I've tried Android 4.2.1 with CM mod but it's a little bit disappointing. I can't see any real useful changes so far.

no, Samsung will not release Exynos sources, so it will never be final
I hate to say it but we are either gonna get more support in next months or less support.

Hey, I'm not a dev (yet) but I'm wondering if anyone was working on a port of Android Revolution 10 for the Sprint One. Thanks ahead of time if you are!
Oh, and I would be willing to test if someone is building one.
According to Mike1986, developer of ARHD, it's probably not possible to get the 4.2.2 base to work on Sprint variant until we have a new kernel. Being a tinkerer myself I went ahead and tried anyway using Sprint latest base 4.1.2 library files and kernel. I can definitely confirm that he's right and it didn't work. Maybe a more experienced dev can work his magic but best thing to do now is just wait for 4.2.2 to be released for Sprint. In the meantime, enjoy some of the great ROMs based on 4.1.2 we already got here.

I have been enjoying the work here - I guess I was just drooling over the new features. I can definitely wait. Thanks for the update!
On a side note, the only international 4.2.2 rom that supports sprint(ive checked them all) is ordroid, but it seems just installs 4.1.2 on sprinr devices.

Have been looking all day asking most the developers. There are a few ASOP and AKOP 4.3 ROMS in the wild. Not sure if anyone has found one compatible? Currently running a 4.2.2 ROM and using basic features, would like to get Notifications and S Voice working on the GS4.

There are some aosp based rom that are compatible for our phone. Its in orginal development. When downloading a 4.3 rom make sure its for jfltespr. If you want s voice for aosp based sorry those are for tw roms only. You got to wait either for a dev to port us a working 4.3 tw update or wait until sprint gives is a 4.3 update.

Will our get Android lollipop through Cyanogenmod?
I doubt it as we can't even get the official KK bootloader which may or may not be required for Lollipop.
I tried Android L on my Nexus 4 and didn't really like the new interface.

Im actually quite content with my custom rom kitkat with the Gem Flat skin on top of it. (really quite stable just ui crash twice per week).
But then the unthinkable thing happens with one of the oldest moto droid devices went from ICS to Kitkat without any official updates due to alot of developers.
Anything is possible

I guess its standard to question if we will see something BEFORE THE ACTUAL PUBLIC RELEASE HAPPENS AND BEFORE CYANOGENMOD, WHICH IS NOT MOTOROLA, GETS THEIR HANDS ON IT TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO ABOUT PUSHING IT OUT TO OUR DEVICES.
Btw, as far as that bootloader point goes, ask yourself this, do the older devices that got left behind on GB or ICS need updated bootloaders to run KK? B/c i can guarantee i can grab my Atrix 4G or my Droid X and see KK running on both of them with GB bootloaders.

Is this a signal?
I Think, yes.
Because, this night, someone did an Android L ROM For the HTC Evo 3D [POST]
I Remember, this phone has come to the world running GB, well, ROM Is still buggy, but see, that device more older than Atrix HD, I Don't know if that device has an ''updated'' bootloader [like bootloader for ICS or JB], But i think this would be a great news for this device.
I Already tried Lollipop on a Nexus 4 [Is the official update], an i really liked it. i think is better than KK, [ppl comming here and spammin' ''KK Is better'' in 3.... 2.... 1.....]
If HTC EVO 3D Has Lollipop, Our Atrix HD's can have Lollipop too :victory: , the only thing we need is hope, and a brave developer.
and please sorry about my bad english~ :silly:
Maybe.

our devices upgrade has to do with more than kernels I need to backport some ion commits to the new qcom branches lot of guess work to what is needed and what isn't. Basically have to make a custom qcom folder for jbbl. As for the kernel there are lots of ways to get this right but it will need lots of time and testing.
Why has google still not uploaded Shamu Android 7.0 Nougat ota zip.:crying: Anyone here who got the ota update on shamu?

Having a nexus 6 and now getting the OTA update as soon as release as previously expected.
we will see it in a couple of weeks.
Who needs the stock images when there are already custom roms on the market.
Much better flashable zip. No encryption and custom kernel

Not really a wise option. The roms right now are hacked together with bits and parts from other stuff and without an updated kernel many things are causing issues and you dont get all the new under the hood improvments.

Yeah I have the source and alot is still missing compared to the DP5. I have spoken with most teams and they are all of the same mind. Until it is fixed they wont build for the n6. Some are even gonna wait until late September or October before even attempting to build it. We are all over Google groups complaining about it. Most think it has to do with Qualcom and the new Vulcan stuff that qualcomm is refusing to support on some chips.
We can only wait and see. I personally am not touching a single rom that is built at the moment. Not a fan of hack together roms.

Not with a device I rely on. My device is a tool not a toy lol.
Plus I make my own roms and only use roms made by a very few others. To be honest only 2 teams do I trust their roms to flash to my device. I know all too well the risks involved in flashing roms.
Nexus 5x is live Come On GOOGLE!!!
Velocity was a ROM by Trident in the LG Ally days, woah they bring me back. Back to Android 2.2.2!
