[Q] How do I compile CM10 from git?

Hi,
I've been trying to compile JB for a while now and I can't seem to get it to work.
Following instructions on the Teamhacksung wiki to 'compile CM10' results in breakage because a lot needs to be pulled from Hacksung's git repo. Once all dependencies are pulled in the proprietary file getting script can't find a bunch of 'gpsd' and 'nvram_net.text_*' files. I'm running preview #2, but I couldn't find said files in my CM9 backups either.
If I just go ahead with compilation the compiler complains about the ,missing proprietary files.
Anybody got CM10 compiling? If it matters I'm doing it under Arch Linux 64bit.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,
I have a samsung tab 2 p3100, which now has cynaogenmod 10 jellybean installed. I now need to make some tweaks in andorid OS<
How do I change the android source code and compile a build to flash on samsung p3100.
I downloaded the android source code from google and compiled it to generate a otapackage build with maguro configuration. But the zip file is not working for the device.
How can I create a ROM from the andorid source code which can be flashed on the samsung P3100. ?

You will need to do a lot more research. There are a lot of steps to setup a build environment for a device. No one can answer in a few words here Search XDA for tutorial on building CM10. There are a lot of pieces beyond the Google source that are required

Thanks for the reply,
I was able to compile cyanogenmod successfully and install it on the device.
Now I want to add my app as part of the build, so when the device is flashed with the rom, the app will already be there, instead of me having to install it again,
For this, I added the source of the app to /packages/apps and wrote an android.mk file and added the name of the app to PRODUCT_PACKAGES in the /build/target/product/core.mk file. But still the app is not included in the build,
How do I add my app as part of the cyanogenmod build?

[ROM][Linaro 4.7][P31xx][JB][4.3] CM 10.2 w/Espresso10++ 3.0.96 + Code Review

Hi all,
I will be building cm-10.2 from source nightly and posting it here. These builds are straight from the CyanogenMod Github repo.
These are Unofficial Builds, built by me, from the nightly sync with the source repo. I am not part of the core CM dev team, but I do contribute to the Code Review: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/, I'm just a man with a compiler.
After you flash the rom please open up settings / developer settings and then set root access to ADB and Apps. You can access developer settings by tapping the build number 7 times on the about screen.
Thanks Codeworkx!

Luigi asked if I can add the IR blaster changes for the p3113 that had been patched into cm 10.1 on a few unofficial builds. Let me get the 0804 build out of the way; as I will start building it in about 6 hours or so. Then I'll look into adding support for it.

Anyway whats the different from this to codeworks build?
I mean i can build for the supported devices. I'm not trying atm to add support to unsupported devices.
These are from the same source I'm just building them nightly and posting them. The last p3110 build was from 0730, so I built / will build the latest ones everyday.

Not waiting for a new constructor of cm, but ok, let's see What do you have to offer us ...
Lol I think you may have misunderstood. This isn't a spin off of cm-10.2 or another version of it. This is literally cm-10.2 compiled from the repo sources and I usually sync after midnight then build. The last cm-10.2 build for both p3110 and p3100 was 20130730.
I compiled the latest from the repo and posted it and I'm just going to keep on rebuilding everynight and post it until cm-10.2 starts building automatically at night for all devices with a build server; Like they do with 10.1 atm,

[Q] Kernel compiling

Hello everyone, I'm a noob that want try to learn something more about Android.
I'm trying to compile the Optimus-prime kernel of Demetris, but I'm stuck on an error during compile session.
My steps:
1) git init -u git://github.com/Ntemis/lge-kernel-p880
2) downloaded NDK from google http://dl.google.com/android/ndk/android-ndk-r9c-linux-x86.tar.bz2
(I'm using Slackware 14.1 32 bit)
3) I've used as baseconfig this one : cyanogenmod_x3_defconfig
4) then as toolchain :
Code:
export CROSS_COMPILE=~/ndk/toolchains/arm-linux-androideabi-4.6/prebuilt/linux-x86/bin/arm-linux-androideabi-
5)finally I did
Code:
make -j2 ARCH=arm SUBARCH=arm
Now the error:
Code:
CC arch/arm/mach-tegra/lge/x3/board-x3-i2c-dev.o
arch/arm/mach-tegra/lge/x3/board-x3-i2c-dev.c:58:27: fatal error: board-lge-nfc.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
make[2]: *** [arch/arm/mach-tegra/lge/x3/board-x3-i2c-dev.o] Errore 1
make[1]: *** [arch/arm/mach-tegra/lge/x3] Errore 2
make: *** [arch/arm/mach-tegra] Errore 2
The include file board-lge-nfc.h is present in the same folder of board-x3-i2c-dev.c
Where is the error?
are you sure the cross compile path points to the correct directory?
try using doomlord toolchain, kernel compiling is quite tricky and most toolchains give errors

Hi,
I have only the official NDK on my machine. Anyway I'll try also that doomlord toolchain
Thx for the hint. :good:
I've tried DoomLord's toolchain,but I have the same problem.
So I've tried to download Iodak's sources and I'm been able to compile it without any problem.
Is there a problem with Optimus Prime sources? Is there some special trick?
Well, I've found a solution....
It looks like there is some problem with include path.I've moved the "board-lge-nfc.h" file inside the include folder in the main root of the kernel sources and it worked.
Now I'm stuck with tspdrv. Same story: missing files when they are there instead. I did the same trick with another include file and it worked again, but now I have other missing files.
I'm sure there is something wrong in my setup/sources ...

[Q]Problems of Building CM10.1 for Sony Xperia TX

Hello to all.
I am trying to learn building CM and modifying CM source code in order to running 3G and WiFi connections simultaneously on my Sony Xperia TX(LT29i).
I have been unlocked my TX and run CyanogenMod 12.1 Homebuildperfectly.
For building CM,i flash back to Xperia Firmware using FTF file
Code:
The following picture link is now my TX build:

I follow wiki step by step:
Code:
wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Build_for_hayabusa
Ubuntu version :
Code:
lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS
Release: 14.04
Codename: trusty
I get stuck running breakfast command:
Code:
$ breakfast hayabusa
including vendor/cm/vendorsetup.sh
build/core/product_config.mk:239: *** _nic.PRODUCTS.[[device/sony/hayabusa/cm.mk]]: "vendor/sony/qcom-common/qcom-common-vendor.mk" does not exist. Stop.

Found repository: android_device_sony_hayabusa

Checking branch info

Syncing repository to retrieve project.
Fetching project CyanogenMod/android_device_sony_hayabusa

Done

Then I follow Helpful Tip– Errors during breakfast, jumping down to the next section Extract proprietary blobs.
Unfortunately,it shows that "modem.b05" doesn't exist.

How can I solve problems?
Any piece of information ,I will be so thankful for your help.
You're missing the android_device_sony_qcom-common repo. Go to github.com/cyanogenmod/android_device_sony_qcom-common and download it manually. Make sure to select the right branch for building CM10.1
Then extract to yourcmsourcedirectory/device/sony/qcom-common and try to build again.

CM team introduced some heavy changes to qcom-common a few months ago, and my bet is that these are responsible for your error. Probably building latest CM12 would work better. Use the git repos by @updateing and you're good to go.
