It works, I always use it
Offline mode works but you need to remember to select the offline option to download the lyrics you are viewing to the sd card or internal storage

what about itunes embedded lyrics?
Still no one figured out how to see the itunes embedded lyrics in walkman?
I mean, 90% of songs in my itunes library already have embedded lyrics, it would be much handy to get an option/hack to show it in walkman instead of downloading again on sd card with another program....

As lyrics are not embedded in the ID3tag, you can't detect them from the file itself

I use neutron music player, and previously used power amp.. BOTH of them can display Lyrics that ARE stored in the .mp3-file.
To add lyrics to the .mp3-file use MetaTogger. The site is in french, but it is really awesome. It has feature to automatically download and add lyrics to all files that are scanned into the program. Or, if it fails to download the lyrics you can add them your self. I've done this to my entire collection and I freakin' love to have lyrics on the go without the need for internet!!
In order to add lyrics your self, you have to click "view empty tags" at the bottom right screen, and then find it and just paste the lyrics there and save. :good:
I used to play my music with ttpod, but for the first time it's automatically download the lyric when you start playing a song and stored in its own folder. Once lyrics downloaded you can show them even without data connection. This is another alternative, you choose.

My walkman app unable to detect the Mp3 i download from tubemate, does anyone know the actual folder where the walkman app read from?
Walkman reads from the entire device buddy, I suppose that you converted a video to mp3 using tubemate's built in converter right?
Actually my walkman read mp3 converted by tubemate, maybe u should restart it?

hey guys, just wanna know if im the only one feeling this way
i personally think walkman feels like an unfinished music player
no folder playing, no repeat option, no sorting playlist.
the infinte view and light effects are good, and thats the thing that makes still using it.
if we use other music player, will the light effect still play?
Press on the album art to show repeat option

Use Poweramp Bro.. No one can beat that.. Look is not a matter.. Performance is the real matter. Poweramp wins there

i'm totally agree with you :good:
thanks for all the reply.
i agree sony walkman has the best sound. the reason im not trying to use other msic player is because usually they have their own equalizer, and not all support the phone's stock sound effect.
manually sorting is way to tedious, i was thinking of having a sort button that ask how will u sort it, by artist name, by song title etc.

no, i mean in my playlist.
when i first create a playlist, i tick the songs alphabetically, but when the playlist is created, the song list was jumbled up, not like the way i added it 1st time. what i mean is, i cannot find a sort button to sort the music list in my playlist. there is only a shuffle button, and in the dropdown menu, edit playlist there is no auto sort, i'll have to manually sort it, n its kind of tedious.
thats why i hope there will be an update for walkman that can play folder so i dont need to create another playlist whatsoever.

well, dunno, maybe im too demanding
but im so used to having a folder playing option on my previous custom music player (on galaxy gio) so im a bit annoyed its not a standard on all music player
Hi people, I Am very dissapointed from Walkman for these two reasons: No folder choosing and no genre choosing for every mood that you are in a moment. Ihave Power metal folders, Rap, Drum'n'bass, Classic and when open Walkman its like one big chaos. What I'm do for that?
First make a new Playlist with name of wanted genre, after that I'm use other player with folder play option and put all folder in desired playlist. And after 5 min of work the chaos in Walkman is ignored and choose to play only that playlist with currend mood.
P. S. Sorry for my english, I am selflerner in third world country.
I'm not sure what you mean by "put all folder in desired playlist", but for me sorting genres as playlists worked. No need to copy any files anywhere. Just create a new playlist and add songs. I suggest doing it on computer using Sony's Media go software. It'll be a lot faster.

You will just have to transfer the files again, if worse comes to worse you may have to transfer everything off your card, format it in phone and transfer the files back.
Hi,
I just sold my iPhone 5s and ordered the Xperia Z2 online.
Is the Walkman app able to play the iTunes m4a format and show the artist, song title, album name, artwork etc. I have over 4000 songs in my iTunes library. All my songs are DRM-free.
I would rather not covert these to mp3 as it would result is loss of sound quality.
Thanks

According to the White paper the Z2 is not able to play this format.

Poweramp plays them.

Yes, there're two methods do to it:
1- Menu: "download music infos" (it can be quite long)
or
2- Listen to an album, select "modifiy music infos" and select the image that is in the album folder.

Ok.
Thank for your help. If I find a solution I will post on here.
I believe iTunes stores album artwork slightly differently. It doesn't embed the artwork into the mp3/4 file itself, but rather stores a link to the album art. I guess this means you only have to store album art once per album, rather than once per track. However I've found it breaks compatibility with other apps, as you're finding here.
When you grab album art from within the walkman app, it's embedding it in the mp3/4 file, which is why that works.
Some useful info here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22652504#22652504
You can use a script if you're on a mac to embed everything, or you can manually embed the artwork in each file, which will then worth fine on your xperia.
Back in th days when I went from my iPhone 4 to Android I found that Album art Grabber was the best and fastest choice for me. The iTunes covers didn't work so I used this method instead. It might take some time but it is worth it
All sorted now.
I used the free version of mediamonkey which found all the artwork automatically.
Thanks everyone for your replies.

Yes, just copy to sdcard... works perfect and shows album cover on my Xperia Z with WALKMAN (best music player!! )
This was my issue when switching from iPhone to Android as well. I went with Google Music All Access and uploaded all my songs and this way I can get whatever songs I want.
