[Q] Live wallpapers and CM 6

I was trying to get some nice live wp on my G1 today. First I looked up the optimized Nexus dump wallpapers, but they did not work on my phone, all but the weird clock FCd as soon as I tried to open them. But every other live WP works.
My question is: is there any lwp what is an exact (or more-or-less) copy of the Nexus one LWP "Water", "Galaxy", and "Grass"? Or, any way to get the nice sea-shore one from Galaxy S?

Grass: Beautiful Live Weather
Galaxy: I forget the name, but there's one that looks similar, and is, in my opinion, better. More animation-y.
Water: Nottachance.
Galaxy S ones don't seem to work on G1, sorry mate. Upgrade and you'll be good ;P

Do you mean Galactic Core? Got it, but it is slow. I like the Galaxy one better, but it just won't work.

GalaS ones: That's why I said something like them. I can't upgrade, here where I live (Hungary) those phones cost a lot, and thanks to our govenrment, payments are under the a*s of the frog :S

Live wallpaper on g1 is worthless. maybe to just show your friends you can do it for a minute. But your friend probably already has an evo. And is running it for real anyway. G1 is really affected by live wallpaper. And runs like ****. Especially with these new bigger roms like 2.2 why do it. Your cpu and battery are greatly affected. And can't handle it.

Which Phone Should I buy?

Im planning on trading my phone but which one should is better in camera,display,sound and also rich in features and have most progress with development in xda?-Xperia Mini Pro or Sony Live with Walkman?
Im interested in mini Pro because of its keyboard,it can also be used for gaming,but im interested with the live with Walkman because of its unique design and its headset that comes with it,please help me made up my mind...

Live with Walkman. Great sound big screen and everything 1ghz processor also.

Well,live comes whit front camera too,ins't?but anyway i prefer Mini Pro just because its keyboard,the headset you could buy a better one (looks good,but its not the best and have not much difference from the one from mini pro)and about sound quality,its android,you can change the DSP to your like!
Oh,and i think mini pro have more activit on XDA!

nah,it isn't available only country yet,but I mostly interested in live big screen and design(for me it's pretty stylish) but mini pro have da keyboard and bravia engine but live can also have bravia engine by custom kernel...but which one can be overclock up to 2ghz...probably both...ooh I cant made up my mind...

my dad has a live with walkman and he says that it is really good. has a great processer but its with gingerbread. i think it has touch buttons as well

I should recommend Live with walkman

I think I'll go with Sony live,because the camera are more stable than mini pro and the large screen but is the live with walkman's screen contrast more poor than x8 or is it better?

I think x8 screen is better than live with walkman screen.

erm..sorry ...but srlsly what's with the hype for TW ? i tried to give it a shot but then it failed to impress i used go laucher ex instead

I want HTC Sense 4.0 instead.
TouchWiz looks ordinary while Sense looks pretty and awesome.

Well guys,there are Pros and Cons for both TW and Sense Sense has a really beautiful UI,but since 4.0,its a real ram hog and it slows down the system.TW is ugly in some places but places like,the dialer is JUST AWESOME,and its stable so,i dont go for both i had go for a hybrid version combining both TW and Sense

Well, I'm BIG fan of Sense UI. TouchWiz 4 is good, but not as good as Sense. Quite frankly, samsung needs to change TouchWiz completely just like htc did.

yes they need to do it so that newer quad core phones works much similar to those of dual cores in terms of speed

COULDN'T AGREE MORE! Anyway About TW vs Sense thingy, TW, IMO, doesnt really look really good in it's original look but some devs like the ones from TC made me like it via editing it. I hate normal-looking touchwiz its really ugly for me No offense but it doesn't eat a big chunk of ram, thats the only thing sense aint capable of

ok touchwiz something removed out of custom roms, but what exactly does it add, since I have only used a samsung rom I dont know which bits are touchwiz and which bits arent.
Also is there a list of the apps that are not included without samsung?

Touchwiz is basically the look of your phone ---
The status bar
The icons
The animations( okk they are stock android )
The menus ..settings ..anything and everything u see in a stock rom ( b4 u install anything ) is touchwiz
And custom roms like cm7 use different stuff
The status bar looks better
There are no crappy samsung apps ( though i like the keypad)
The whole ui is better
In short touchwiz sucks :thumbdown: anything thats not touchwiz rocks :thumbup:

comparatively more functional in few areas
can be modded easily..!!

One thing i dislike with the TW is....it does not offer any good function (who needs Samsung Apps anyway ) . HTC Sense is much awesome than TW with functions like FriendStream:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:....

ROMS and a$$h0l3s.....
Each has their own and like his own.....
Now some Prefer Cyanogen(Dev guys)....
Some Touchwiz(who prefer stock)....
and Some MIUI(iPhone junkies).....
Cyanogen has it's own plus points(Love the gestures everywhere and speeed).....
Touchwiz has it's own(Nice simple UI and no nonsense Dialer and task manager)....
and I don't have used MIUI (but I like the apps and the efforts put behind it)......

But some things are universal

All I know is Touchwiz ain't universal and I love the Touchwiz on the Galaxy Note

Um y'know, i prefer touchwiz.. it's simple and easy to understand.. i found some difficulties when first time using cyanogenmod.. and y'know, every thing has its own plus points ..

@chrcol - It's basically Samsung's user-interface. Deciding the ways in which your fingers can interact with their phones. Although roms have their own independent preset functionality, Touchwiz is the software that defines how you interact with that, like all the long-presses, page-switching, down to things like creating multiple home pages etc.

One of the biggest debates about getting ICS onto 'lesser phones' is that of Samsung not being able to fit Touchwiz 4.0 in with ICS on even a device as good as the Galaxy S. But as other posters have made clear, Touchwiz is not the 'be all and end all', even if it is very good; most importantly it is unique to Samsung, and they won't be renting out other peoples systems. I still don't see the problem with tweaking our current Touchwiz 3 though...

Some features are good.
I flashed the official CM7 on my Ace. Most things are nice. What I miss about Touchwiz is the Dialer, and also the Contacts: Swipe right on a contact to make a call, swipe left to compose a message.

I just saw the iOS 7 video, and I thought the parallax thing was pretty awesome. you guys think that this could happen with the android? or is there some hardware limitation?
and wow, other than the icon, I think the systems looks really aesthetic for the new iPhone. I'm sticking with my HTC One for another 2 years though
