Anybody know if its possible or how to transfer music from USB to a USB input...like a car stereo that has a USB port? This can be achieved with my much older Samsung infuse...but there doesn't seem to be the possibility on here.
Any ideas? Has anybody been able to connect there vivid to a car stereo through USB? How did you do it? Any help is appreciated...I typically just use my aux cord but I seem to have misplaced it :/

Won't your USB port look at your sdcards and find music?
I've never used one in my vehicles... but I know someone who did and he had more than just music on it... but the car only played music...

The music has to be on the external sd card and your vivid needs to be set to ask what to do upon usb connection, then select set to disk drive once connected. I figured this out just the other day with my car stereo.

Guess it depends on the head unit. Works fine on mine, but mine is aftermarket.
Those aux cords cost .25ยข-$2...

Hi,
I want to know if there is a way that I can see my nexus one on the TV. Or if not that, atleast show videos like from YouTube. I can only play audio.
Please help me. My TV has no USB port, but I have a USB thingy connected to my TV through HDMI.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Remote control your Nexus from your PC, and connect your PC to the TV.
But then why would you need Nexus...
I'm afraid it's not possible... the only thing you could do is this.
afaik, the only device through which you can do something like that is desire HD, since it features a mini-HDMI port.
You can't connect it the conventional way, since there's no HDMI port...but you could try through the USB cables
Btw, the Desire HD does not have a HDMI port, but the Evo 4G does.

There is no way to do HDMI mirroring without HDMI support built into the phones hardware, and unfortunately, the N1 lacks any ability to output video to anywhere other than the display on the phone.
What behelit was talking about is using a DLNA server on your device, which will allow you to have your music, videos, and pictures available for people to view over your local network with any DLNA compatible device. All while being wireless. Many newer Samsung and Sony TVs support this, along with a lot of their BluRay players (including other manufacturers) along with the PS3 and the XBox 360. Essentially it works like a dvd player where you will have menus and can pause and rewind and all that fun stuff.
I believe the usb host thread has examples of people using an external monitor, but I don't think the usb output is HDMI...
The USB host thread has people using external USB2HDMI adapter, which gets the output sent for it by the device driver in the OS.
No way to do anything like it without modifying the OS to have USB host capability to begin with. Or building a special external USB host and drivers.

You could try and find a N1 Desktop Dock on eBay and use the mini-HDMI adaptor on that.
I have a 360 and I use the 360 wireless adapter which currently occupies the USB port on the back.
I see that the Turtlebeach requires me to plug this into the back USB port.
What's the best way to go about this? No, I will not use Ethernet cable or get the new Xbox.

Would a USB hub work?
Max. (From my Galaxy 2)
I have to look for a hub but I don't know if that'll work. This headset is hella complicated.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
No it doesn't need to be plugged into the back port. You can use any USB port (even one from your computer). The back port is recommended because it only provides power thus freeing up the other USB ports for things that don't only need power for
Or at least I think so. Either way any USB on your Xbox will work for your Turtle Beaches.
Cool. I will try it now. This thing is a beast. I didn't think people took mics this serious. My GF got it for me.

What model is it?
Mhl hdmi?
I has already heard wasn't possible but then I saw a site selling it saying normal cables like the one I use to connect to TV with my sgs2 wouldnt work because HTC uses ext-mhl rather than just mhl(dont ask me) so I bought it. Looks like original HTC cable but it doesnt do the trick. went back to stock and what not. No difference. It aint going to happen is it? Ics maybe?

The anandtech review says that the nexus 7 has OTG support, so I just ordered this OTG cable. Its only
$4 .00 and ships fast. If you're in the UK search OTG on eBay and you'll find a cheap cable that ships to the UK, this one is in the US though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-USB-O...Accessories&hash=item43b051fc2e#ht_4080wt_689
Link to anandtech review? im very curious about otg.

Anandtech http://www.anandtech.com/show/6054/google-nexus-7-mini-review has updated their mini-review to say that "Unfortunately I found out that mounting USB storage will not be supported natively. In addition MHL is not supported."

Is there any USB OTGs that look just like a small USB dongle and you can put microSD cards in there instead of USBs?

Actually the devs don't need to fix anything, all you need to do is root the device and bam, you can mount an OTG USB device. That's what I'm gonna do!

That's cool so I won't miss removable storage on my HTC one, and I can use my USB pen drive and many other devices and I can use same connector I bought for S3, That's really practical If I am shooting large video I can transfer video file to usb and never run out of space, but r u sure will it work out of box and without rooting?

Allows you to plug in USB flash sticks, SD card readers etc for expandable storage. Can't run anything that draws too much power (ie etc hard drives) but otherwise works well.
You need a micro usb - usb OTG adaptor.

USB otg will always be an inferior option compared to hot swappable micro sd.
What is more convenient, micro SD card or a cable sticking out of your phone + a USB flash drive?

For me, USB. I don't always have to watch movies. When I have to, I'll just plug the USB, maybe I'll copy the movie to internal and then I'm cable free, after watching I'll delete it. This way no cable, no swapping of SDs and internal doesn't pose to be a problem
