I would say if you aren't a developer and don't know what these things are doing, just leave them as they are...
There is a reason why it's called "Developer Options"

Its obvious he's not a dev, thats why he is asking.

Go to "phone" and write "3845#*880#" then you will find a lot of options which are for developers .
Don't play with them if you don't know what they are .

He probably wanted to know about developer options settings and used "dev" to refer to.

...sent with my LG Optimus 4X HD...
I think he just simply wanted to know if any option in there can help improve the phone's performance
just dont touch it it couses more trouble then that it improves things.
ive messed with it a lot but every time i went back to defaults as it just works better.
if you lower background processes you see the launcher redraw often (and other apps) which wastes more battery time then leaving them enabled.
and the force 2d/3d only cuases crashes as its not completely supported yet by all apps.
I use dev menu to disable MLT
menu is 4th from bottom.
Why: see thread by Dexter on General forum.
Most if the menu function is to test h/w, I think they will not alter phone setting.
Some menu I don't understand the purpose.

Hey
i have done the MLT as Dexter posted, but some of the previous replies are talking about the right menu i don´t use the hidden menu, and i have tried to enable and dis-enable the 2d force. And i didn´t notice any difference on performance.
But i have do not "keep active programs" (ugly direct translation from danish to English) ticked and i recon the phone performance better.

I was just messing around a bit with lge-res.apk when I came up with some disabled options around xml files and I enabled them to take a look... Why we have those options there? And why they were disabled?

Because we dont have the hardware like LTE or QuadCore or NFC but we could use this taskmanager thing maybe u can pull the apk from V30I for the KU(dont know the numbers )and activate it

Well QVoice doesn't seem hardware dependant. Strange they let that there if there is no use, I saw some of this stuff in LG 4X HD forum but there, that's quite normal eheh.

I tried copy Taskmanager.apk from v30I and press the "Task Manager" button, but nah, it gives me a SystemUI FC... Maybe it needs something else to be enabled/added to SystemUI.apk...

The QVoice thing won't do anything, just like Miracast... If I longpress the LTE one, it takes me to Mobile Network Settings, and the others show me what we can see on screens..
Hi I realise this is (probably?) a kernel dependent option but it would be nice to have an app that changed mdnie settings depending on user actions.
For example if the user viewed a video it could change to video/natural then back to UI/dynamic when playback ceased.
Is there such thing as this ? It would be a nice addition to NXTweaks and other similar apps if not.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
This could be great. But AFAIK, its really hard to detect what kind of action the user is performing due to the fact that too many permissions would be required, and too much trouble to merge it in the kernel.
You probably will never see it around

Hi,
I am using the CM10.2 | Jellybean 4.3 by Maclaw [20131021] and I would like to ask if it's possible to have somehow:
1. a 4-way reboot
2. long press back to kill application
The ROM, in my opinion, is currently the best available for our phone (although I had some soft reboots). It's stable, fast, and has fairly good battery life.
Thank you!
Long press back to kill is available in developer option.

Ok, now I feel stupid
Where are exactly the Developer Options in this ROM?
I have no Developer section in System Settings!
Go in "about phone", scroll down to "build number" and press it a bunch of time fast. This should unlock the dev menu.

Cool trick! Thank you Nemo!
You're welcome. Quick question, what is "4 way reboot"?

Yes that what I meant!
I found everything I wanted under the dev options.
Thank you for your help my friend!

Rome ok. It is also possible to assign someone sms tones. only a problem exists.
the load of phone in reach of 100% after 5 minutes, the phone automatically turns off. can this be fixed?
sorry but my english is not so good.
Do you mean that the memory is used a 100% or are you talking about the battery?

hi! i can't select Relock workaround option 2...i'm on apex launcher pro.
Yeah ! This thing is pretty Cool !
Aaye! I am also using the same thing! It feels very cool
However, I have assigned the Screen Off app to Swipe Down gesture of the Nova launcher.
Yes, its sad that we have no way to Switch On with any gesture as it needs hardware interaction. But, still, I have tried some solutions, which included Proximity Sensor of the Phone, and they were just amazing
i use slimbean
and with volume wake and this lock trick, i don't touch my lock button at all ^^
only when i need to shut down my phone

that would be perfect, i hope that the update will come soon, since it has been some time since any of main kernels got official update from devs itself ^^
double tap to wake and this trick, well, i can just forgot the lock button
i only hope that that will not lead to big battery consumption :fingers-crossed:
Touchscreen has to stay awake. So yes it will drain some small amount more. But you can always disable it if you dont like/need it.

Settings, Display, Brightness
UN tick Adapt to lighting conditions.
Is that what you wanted?
There was another setting before the 257 update that let you uncheck an option that said something like 'automatic change screen condition to save battery"
I'll just have to reflash the old version to do a screen shot for you guys.

I've posted similar question earlier, but no answer so far. It was called "Optimised backlight" and it was positioned right below "Pulse notification light". It is basically DLS (Dynamic Luminance Scaling) and it is the most annoying power-saving feature in the known universe and I absolutely hate it. It should be a way to disable it with root explorer, but I can't find it in the folder where it was on my Xperia T.

I think I read somewhere that Sony removed it due to it bugging out with some apps.
They should remove it then, not leave us without possibility to turn this crap off.
Sent from my C6903 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yeah. I would think if it doesn't work when on, then they should have disable it and left it off by default.
All other Android phone worked without trying to change this crap.
I love this phone but it's annoying me a lot when reading text that has dark background and graphics.
