Is it correct to assume the same re-flash will replace a custom kernel with a stock kernel?

Yes. Flash a custom kernel such as philz and you are ready to go. You get root and cwm recovery. Find it in the development section

[Q] How to root my S Advance - Gingerbread - UBLK1

I want to root my phone, since JB is not available in my country, or maybe to install a custom rom from the website?
Did you even read a single post?

Yes, i've read all the Root post, enough to see that UBLK1 is a special case.
The question is, did you read the freaking title of my post?

Root with Qzems method, instead of your stock kernel use CoCore 4.1 for GB. Install superuser, and it is done. After that just use Triangle Away to remove binary counter.

Yes, that is normal. You can't install Gingerbread ROM over JB. You will end up in soft brick, now you need to flash stock JB firmware again. I think that recovery is not working now too, so you can't just flash JB ROM.

So any other way to unbrick?

Go to samsung-updates.com or sammobile.com/firmwares and search our device I9070. On sammobile you can see the install process, it's easy

Yes, and you can't flash JB ROM (custom ROM) because you can't go to recovery. And you must flash firmware with Odin.
Thanks, it helped!

Done
Has anybody tried this on a device that is not the 900F? Wondering if this is crossflashable between some Snapdragon variants.
This is only boot image and not the complete kernel. Modules are missing and could lead to soft-brick.

Hmm, strange. It worked on my device. Only with the boot image.
