[Q] HTC One X Rooting problem - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If this has been answered elsewhere I'm sorry but I can't find the answer. I've unlocked the bootloader on my HTC One X. Flashed Clockwork Mod and I can get in to recovery. I then tried to install Cyanogenmod from the SD card and that ran and said it had completed. But, when I reboot it sticks on the HTC quietly brilliant screen and goes no further! Any ideas if there is anything I can do other than go back. If I need to go back, where do I get the RUU? I'm in the UK and it says Hboot 1.38 if that helps on the Fastboot screen.
Spent 3 evenings now trying to root this phone. Not easy

Need a herocimg.zip, tired of looking.

I've been looking through the forum and googleing for a while. I can't seem to find any herocimg.zip's. I need one of these because my HTC Hero will not boot past the HTC screen nor go past the bootloader into recovery. If you have any suggestions on how to fix that problem they would be apprecaited. As of the moment I've only BEEN ABLE TO clear user data from the bootloader.

it's spelled hercimg, maybe that's the issue.
what would you like to be in the hercimg?
you can ruu to 2.31.651.7 with this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9944755&postcount=9
My Hero hangs at the HTC screen, so I figured I'd try another rom. Like I said, the phone won't go into recovery. Just the voldown+power screen.
You need an HERCIMG.zip with a recovery.img inside. It will only work if you're S-OFF.
BTW, HEROIMG.zip is for the GSM Hero, not the Sprint CDMA one. If you're not S-OFF you need to follow aiwetir's link to get back to stock, re-root, and reflash your recovery..

or flash a recovery through ADB.
I didn't know you could use adb from hboot. Good to know.

[Q] Rooted and OTA?

Need some help:
Have a rooted Vivid using Hasoon's Vivid all-in-one kit. After doing this, I went to AT&T to get a new sim that allowed LTE (had to upgrade plan as well). As soon and it was activated, the phone offered and OTA, the AT&T guy clicked on it and now the phone reboots and hand on the HTC screen.
I can get into Hboot, but cannot get into recovery, factory reset, or cache. Just goes back into the HTC white screen. I can get into fastboot USB, but I still have s-on so I cannot make any changes.
Any ideas before I make it tiny pieces with my AK-47?

S-on your device, then flash the ICS RUU. The RUU should be linked in one of the stickies in android dev section.

Woohoo. Thanks for the info. I am now back on stock ICS. Was able to root and will be upgrading to JB soon enough.
Ok, so I used Hasoon's Root kit. But I am having an issue trying to upgrade to Cyanogen. If I boot into the bootloader, I cannot get off the main screen without it failing and having to pull the battery and restart. If I use the Rom manager, it will just hang in the same place (the HTC white screen). I tried to fastboot but the USB does not work or be recognized (PC does not even see it to load drivers). What should I do?

I rooted my HTC One and every time I go to install the OTA update, it just brings me to the bootloader. Nothing more then that. Is it because I didn't do a nandroid backup? Not too sure what that is. I'm also running stock Sense 5, no Roms or anything.
please help!
in order to install OTA, your phone needs a stock recovery, not a custom one.

[Q] Brick after stuck in moonshine installation

Hi guys, help me, I just brick my htc....
I bought HTC one 802d edition (china telecom with dual simcard cdma and gsm), then i upgrade into latest ROM (online update), and already become jelly bean 4.2.2, after that i was unlock the bootloader, install TMW recovery, everything going smooth..
after that, i try to make S-OFF with moonshine (i've tried before to other my HTC phone, and no problem), i run from the moonshine that for this phone/rom (802d), after a few steps, on the steps that dots (......), after 30 minutes, is not over yet, i think it becomes stuck, so i unplug the HTC from the computer and stop the progress. But after that my phone stuck in HTC logo (the chinese logo after HTC never shows), and what i see in bootloader, the phone cannot find the ROM .... I don't understand what happened, i try to run the moonshine again from condition htc logo, i can run the process normally, but again, stuck in the dots ..., but this time i wait, for almost 1 hour, than there's error in the end.
Since than my phone stuck in HTC logo, but still can go to bootloader or recovery. after that i also tried ROM maximus hd, just like i tried before, still bootloop (the ROM is for HTC 802d), after that i also tried some chinese ROM that base on stock ROM, but always fail to install on TMW...
right now my phone still TAMPERED and S-ON ...
i'm trying to recover to stock ROM, (already download from htc1guru.com), but still have no idea how to install the stock rom to the phone...
Please help me how to fix this ... Already looking in the forum, but still haven't find the answer/solution...
Well if you can get into your bootloader and its just getting stuck in a boot loop youre not bricked
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

if your bootloader is unlocked... you can flash a custom recovery with "fastboot flash recovery [recoveryfilename].img" then you can push a ROM to your device in the recovery mode and flash it from there or you can use a RUU and with a RUU you don't need to worry about custom recovery.
