Now that I realized that our phones do not come with the display calibration softwares like Z and ZL, still I'm looking for some way to fix the annoying low contrast and washed-out colors on my T. Is there any alternate software or app that can do that?

Please use the search button next time. [JELLY BEAN]WhiteBalance from Xperia ZL
the Display Calibration from the ZL doesnt fix the contrast or the washout colors on the T.

Anyway, the link you gave is no good mod. The white balance dosen't stay after lockscreen.

If you want to mess with display calibration, give this a try:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kovit.p.filteryourscreen
I don't use it personally, but I've heard good things about it.

is there eny diferences in hardware??? i mean, at least for me the xperia tx looks better because its thiner and has a biger dispay, but i read in some post, the xperia tx procesor is diferent then the xperia t. another point, i like to use rooms and addons, i was a xperia S user so, i wanna buy a phone that has the same facilities to install all ths things (sry about my english not my native languaje xD )
xperia tx is better all around except when it comes to faster ROM support.
there are more people that have the T, but the TX still is a better phone because it has:
slightly bigger screen (? i think)
same processor
better form factor
removable battery
feels much better
doesn't have the body paint issue
The Xperia T and TX have the same screen as far as I know. It's just that some sites round the screen size (4'55) up to 4'6 or not.
The TX is slightly taller and wider, and a bit thinner, but on the whole you probably wouldn't notice the difference.
TX's main advantage is the removable battery, but you pay a price: less capacity 1750 mAh vs 1850 mAh of the T.
Also, as Fuzalert2k mentions, most devs have the T, so rom variety and development is better.
AW: [Q] xperia tx or t?? i dont know witch to buy! help me :D
i think the most important has been said
i have the xperia t and i'm very happy with the device
Sony Xperia T Black

T & Tx have same screen quality, only certain old batches of TX got better panel, but the chance to get one of those is extremely rare now.

It's not that rare, you just have to search a little more in Indonesia porducts
In general, both of them are good.
About design of them, X-T looks manly and stronger than TX ( in my opinion)
And XT has water resistant but cant change battery.
But for me, i see the T screen is not good as TX. Its default brightness is to bright. So it does not display true colour like TX. It shows the black colour like grey. Sometimes it display the colour like super amoled.
And more but i dont remember all.
Sorry for my bad English.

heard a lot that Xperia Z is washed out & poor contrast , this was added up with "Screen Calibrator" software , the question is - IS THIS SOFTWARE REALLY COMING ? IF NOT WHAT CAN BE DONE TO IMPROVE CONTRAST ?

thr s lots of thread about screen of xperia Z
and Really it has so pretty screen
check the these pics that compared with flagship of Samsung S IV, S III with Super AMOLED Display
Just amoled will become darker and lcd tech will become brighter
Found a VERY interesting video. Just shows what the Screen is capable of!!

A MUST SEE :|
This has also been bothering me. Back when I was using the nexus 4, i was able to flash a kernel that fixed the screen 'washed out colors' problem. Is there a similar fix to the xperia z?
Sent from my Xperia Z using Tapatalk 2
yeah the software will come, and will be under settings display. I recently updated my japanese version of the xperia z and the screen calibration was part of the update as well as a fix for the black screen.
Can anybody upload the link for the demo video that came in the xperia z

Still nothing for contrast and/or colour adjustment?
Hi, i recalling a few months ago about a post in xda, people said that a possibility to tweak the CONTRAST for our Z or ZL screen, to improve the viewing angles. NOT the white balance settings. Someone mentioned abt tweaking the KERNEL values or some sort, just like the improvement of screen colour that Sony done from firmware .350 to .434. I am very sure that if we can tweak the CONTRAST values, viewing angles will be solved. Can any dev help?
Till now we don't have a capable developer to do it.

Just take an example Xperia Ion, although the screen is not as premium as our Z or Zl, the contrast is great! hopefully some Dev can put some attention to it and our Z/ZL would be flawless, as good as the Z ultra's screen!!
Doomlord is currently working on gamma controls.

how many layers does ion's screen have and how many the Z (glass thickness protectors, etc.)
more thing on top means more light distorsion and colours fade sooner. anyway why you want uber viewing angles
i like my privacy
Oh really? Wow, thats worth looking forward to!! :good:
Hi I feel my Z1 dislay quality isn,t good and show any things yellowish
.my Xperia TX display quality is better and colors are reality.but z1!!!

It,s so bad for me.I used Screen Adjuster app and increase blue color 7% and it,s better now.
but a Triluminos Display shoud not be like this.i expect from it more than TX.
hi all, i have found the display datasheets for Xperia Z Sharp panel's and JDI/JDC panel's.
i just only found it so feel free to use it and/or copy, and/or do with it whatever you want!
You can download Sharp panel pdf file from this link: https://www.mediafire.com/?2o25jjk4smsqyj9
Download JDI/JDC panel pfd file from this link: http://www.mediafire.com/view/1s2bz1573qp77dp/ACX450AKN-7.pdf
or from attachment (zipped)
LS050T1SX01 = Sharp panel
ACX450AKN-7 = JDI/JDC panel
Thanks, very nice work. Hopefully, this allows somebody to figure out how to decrease the backlight brightness more, which'll save a lot of battery, especially reading at night.

Just use a screenbfilter app to dim the screen even more at night,

100% wrong. All that does is add a grey overlay, the screen brightness stays the same — there is NO battery saving.

True that. I know some devs here have the skills to get something like this to work and I know they where looking for such data.
Luckily here it is and we will see what our Z devs can do with it !

Oh ok thanks
Dear All,
I was looking at the datasheets, and the connector of both lcds are verry different from the one found on xperia phones lcd. My question is: the panel are the same, but equiped with different cabling, or the lcd cable (seen in the datasheets) is connected somewhere to a bigger cable (available on the xperias panel)?
Thank you for your help!
---------- Post added at 09:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:07 AM ----------
A bit more information:
I own an original sharp lcd (with the connector, seen in the datasheet), and the lcd is broken, and I need a replacement. It is not part of an Xperia phone. But if I could use the panel of the xperia Z, would be great, as it is available on a much lower price on ebay, than buying the sharp from an original source.
Thatswhy I ask about the connector. On the picture of the xperias lcd I see a different connector from the one in the datasheet. So the question is: the lcds cabling in the xperia is different, or is the same, but connected somewhere (which I can not see on the xperia teardown pictures) to the bigger cable?
Thank you
