i got something to ask for those who know about compressing the flashable zip..
since my theme is in huge size, what if i compress the file with other compression level than "normal"?
which option is the best and i need to choose?
does it will reduce my file quality if i compress the file to smaller size?

If you choose the maximum, it would take the most time and cpu power to decompress. My logic tells me that this would take more time and cpu power to flash.

i cant tell..it uses PAQ7 algorithm..

games and movies are compressed in this from 10s of GBs to several 100 MBs
so it must retain same quality..

defnetly works ;-)
choose one bootanimation and put it in system/media take care that
its name is bootanimation.zip!! you also can change the bootsound put
new into system/etc take care name is poweron.ogg!! reboot and you
got it ;-)

As you can tell from the title, I've been having a strange issue on my phone. Most of the time, when I download something via the default cm webbrowser, the files end up being downloaded as .txt files, when they're actually apks, mp3s etc.
Anyone else with this issue?
I mean, it's not a big deal, I can always change the extension manually, but it becomes a royal pain in the rear when you download multiple files and have to change them one by one... :laugh:

Yes, the exact specs are in my signature...
It is a limitation of all stock Android browsers. The only one that allows you to download the apk file is firefox. Try it!

Firefox is slow as hell... and Dolphin drains way more battery than it should :/

I compiled compcache for who need one
Sorry but i don't have galaxy s3 now so i can't test these i just compiled them(with some source change due to kernel version change).
If there's a problem please reply
Compcache is something like swap but safer and faster.
Usage
1. Decompress zip on /sdcard
2. If you want to enable Compcache use enable.sh with script manager or something
3. If you want to disable Compcache use disable.sh

It's same but zram is newer one
However when i compile zram it says error because there's some structure between kernel change But compcache.c was easier to change source than ramzswap so i compiled compcache.ko

Hello, guis, I'm trying to create a ROM, nothing special, just to learn.
I'm using the dsixda's kitchen, so I need a .tar file of some firmware as base, but I don't know what fw is the best to the job.
Oh, another thing: dsixda's kitchen asks for a .tar file, but when I download some fw (from SamMobile, for example) I receive a .tar.md5 file. Should I just rename and remove the ".md5"?

DDLUP8 (Indian), XXLQB (Serbia) and LQG (Italian) fws are best for now.

You will get the system folder. Then you zip the system folder into a zip and start the kitchen and choose zip

You have to extract also hidden.img.. In it there are the apps which are flashed over /preload partition

I just use the System Extractor of KINGbabasula and the dsixda's kitchen and both worked.

maybe this is the reason...they don't want you do it. if you are rooted you are able to unlock features they allowed only in certain combination of country/carrier
