Hi XDA !
I've been a fellow reader of XDA forum for a long time and today i'll cross the line and become a poster !
I'm here to introduce you to my first app on the google play store.
I'm new on android development so please be indulgent.
The app is a livewallpaper which allows you to choose from different cities and sets the wallpaper assigned to that city.
All the wallpapers comes from Google Now.
Each city has got 4 wallpapers wich switch depending on the time it is.
The settings are currently in french but i will translate them soon.
It's free and there's no ad.
Here is a link to the play store : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kuuji.googlenowwallpaper
(sorry can't post link because i'm a noob on xda =/)
I attached some screenshots.
Don't hesitate to give me feedbacks and impressions.

Good job, its minimalist but in the Google spirit's - 5 Stars :good:
good vote+1
Good job! But they're petty low-res is there no way to get higher resolution pictures? I suppose you pulled the pictures from the Google now app. Maybe you could get higher resolution pictures by changing your phone into believing it's a high resolution device like the nexus 10?
Not Found?
Did this get taken down?
Are any mirrors available for this?
:crying:
Can't find this'd app in the play store so it probably got taken down by Google...wish I nabbed an apk

Thanks I'll try it.
Yes it has been removed by google and i'm trying to contact them to put it back online but a guy stole the idea from me and publish the same app as me with the same name.
Xda even made an article on the thief

Do you have your app hosted anywhere?
Please contact the site admins to let them know the other guy stole your app.
Love the app. Sorry about the thief. Hopefully that gets resolved. I do have an issue though. As I scroll to the side the wallpaper doesn't display the whole image. I swipe to the side and the image will scroll but the most I ever see is about half that of the total image. Any ideas how I could fix this?
I have tried changing the number of home screens (3-7) but the same issue remains. Being from Seattle I am using the Seattle WP and I can only see as far to the right as the Android. Everything else like the stadiums and mountain are not visible.

Still geekin' out over this live wallpaper. It displays your logcat (Android system activity log) as your wallpaper, so you can constantly see what your phone is up to. The lite version is free, and the donate version costs $0.99 and adds a few additional aesthetic features.

EDIT - Above URL doesn't work in the XDA app due to a bug handling BBCode, apparently.
This should work from the app: https://market.android.com/details?id=org.jraf.android.logcatlivewallpaperlite

No, it's a good link, not sure what you're doing wrong. zanderman112's link is exactly the same.

Yeah, just tried it from the XDA app and it wouldn't work either. The links are exactly the same character-for-character, must be a BBCode issue.
EDIT - Yup, I removed the URL tags and it works fine in the app now. I'll see if I can find a way to report that to the XDA app developers.
EDIT2 - Done, bug reported! Seems the XDA App for Android doesn't like certain situations where the displayed text for the link matches the actual URL. It inserts an extra http:// in front of the URL when launching the Android browser for some reason.
That said, any comments on the live wallpaper itself? I can't stop staring at it!
I love it, even though I don't really know what I'm looking at half the time lol

In the settings for the Earth app you can add database urls to the list and select one.
I'd like to add the moon, Mars, etc., but I find no info about this on the Web.
Anyone have any experience with this?
I want to know this also.

i guess google hasn't published the database addresses yet.
maybe it's worthwhile to ask in this forum:
http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/ubbthrea...utm_medium=Community&utm_campaign=guide=22358 topic=22360 answer=148183
That sucks. Does this mean that we can look at Mars from within the Android Earth app?

An elderly relative of mine shall be getting herself a Nexus 7 tomorrow, which she plans to use mainly for e-Reading plus a bit of media usage in the form of BBC iPlayer. I was looking for an easy-to-use interface for her. Any launcher recommendations or simple customisations to make it just a little bit easier? I am sure she could use it as is, but making it easier so I don't have to teach her so much will be good.
How elderly? Talk back might be nifty. I tried it once, it was annoying as hell though

Instructions are poor. You get a quick startup guide on paper and then have to open the book section to read the user manual. I find it harder to learn about a system when I an constantly flipping from the manual to a page to try out what I was reading.

I was more just on about launchers which would allow her to have a nice, clean UI that isn't too cluttered.
Anyone know of such a launcher?

No problem. The only launcher that might suit your needs would be a heavily customized apex launcher.

Thanks. I can install Apex on my Galaxy Note, so I'll fiddle around and see what I can do on it.
Just empty the desktop from every single icon . Than..
1.on home screen Add icons that this person will use the most e.g BBC iPlayer (not sure bits going to work without flash), chrome, play store and a nice looking clock widget or something
2. Set each other screen with categories e.g one for books where you place the appropriate widgets and icons . One for videos and one for whatever else like notes calendar and other productivity ....
3. Do that person a favour and download some games .. yes games . You'd be surprised how often older people like to play ... ideal games would be mahjong, card games , also things like Bejeweled ,Zuma, scrabble type games
Stock android launcher is good enough trust me you just have to know how to organise it. Also wait for chameleon that might change things

hi guys,
sometimes you see a screenshot and you want to know what's that for an app or feature. So I thought to open a thread where you can post these things you can't live without it. I'm interested and searching for new things - so let's post!
So I would start:
For me it's an app called swapps. It's like the @ppbar who's integrated in some custom roms. See the screenshot.
Play Store link.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1992163
Not sure it is related to N4...
Anyway this might be interesting but this app you talk about, I don't see the point as you can do it with recent apps or simply go back to home screen?!
(Sorry about negativeness of this comment^^, this is a good idea to discover interesting apps though)

you change rom, you must apply for a new code
Hello everyone,
I've signed up for the beta a few weeks ago and I had the good surprise to receive my code yesterday.
I launched the app but what a disappointment when I realized there wasn't any theme displayed in the app.
After some research it seems linked to dpi or resolution of screen. I tried to change the dpi but no luck.
So did anybody find the good combination to display themes on our razr i?

First of all even if it's FREE, it is forbidden as per Forum rules.
Second, it is one time use only and is linked to your e-mail and your device. Even Your own code will not work if you try it on second device (I tried on my wife's device - not working) Or if you change the Rom

I waited patiently, got my code. But after getting into the app, I can't fond any themes in the 'browse themes' section to install. Strange.
Anybody else facing the same issue?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk now Free
Edit: The reason behind not finding themes was later realized as not keeping the screen in stock DPI. I reverted to stock screen from Expanded Desktop and Pie mode, making themes visible in the app.

Codes are only good for one time use and only on that phone.
This Themer app is essentially an exact copy of Buzz Launcher.
I just got my code and set it up and said "wow, this is an exact copy of Buzz launcher" without the hundreds and hundreds of quality themes. Not sure what to think of this.

Really? So buzz launcher started from a foundation hewn from some of the best designers in Android, was built from a crowdsourced site where people worldwide spend countless hours sharing their original works with the masses, provides detailed tutorials that assist any and all to replicate the same look on countless phones, with little to no monetary benefit, promoting app & widget development, and takes the next logical step in an evolving business model dedicated to the designer and user?
Pray tell, how did you make such a deduction, and upon what facts do you base this assertion?

So instead of buttressing your initial assertion as requested, you resort to backing it up with the self sealing of he whom questions thee is ignorant. And you lug in sarcasm for good measure.
As an aside, My Color Screen has many fine devs that love buzz launcher and rely on it regularly. I have nothing but good things to say about it.
I'd rather do no harm, besmirch none, hoping all the chance to prosper, allowing for choice and the market to ultimately determine what's best.

this app is all misaligned on my phone, i'm guessing due to my lower DPI on my rom. It really makes it much harder to get the themes looking like they do in the sample photos. It would be cool if they could add an option to calibrate the theme based on the phone's DPI value
I have the same problem. Every shortcuts get out of place making the themes look pretty awful on my phone.

In my opinion, it's much better than buzz launcher. Buzz launcher requires you to do all the work yourself. You have to separately download widgets, and set them up.
Themer does all of this for you.
