Hi folks - i've never sold an android advice before (and they are a lot harder to sell than unlocked iPhones from my experience so far). Currently I have the latest Indian JB rom and rooted with Philz latest kernel. I am wondering whether I should sell it with this rom or go back to one of the original Gingerbread roms and not have it rooted. I assume that anyone who buys a pre-rooted phone with the latest rom is going to know what they are getting into. On the other hand, if the buyer isn't one of those people, I want to make sure that the phone is going to be stable and I won't have to deal with someone saying that there is a problem with the phone after they get it.
I appreciate any advice! I've got it listed on eBay now and it closes in 10 days. I would add a note that I am willing to flash it back to an original ROM if requested. Thanks in advance!

My opinion: get back to a stock version (ideally, the latest one for your country to make it "official"). If the buyer is not familiar with Android, they will be able to get updates OTA. If they are tech-savvy, they will know how to root the device and flash a new ROM.

On the fence here guys. Trying to decide if its worth waiting for the OTA 2.2 or biting the bullet, rooting and testing a cooked rom. Any performance issues or problems with the current roms? How is flash 10.1 working? Like the idea of having full control of the phone and not too concerned with warranty issues. Want to be sure to select the right rom without too many glitches. On AT&T network.

you dont have to be rooted to be using 2.2, and the performance of Flash on the Nexus One is fantastic, especially with all the recent updates.
I'm on At&t and thought only tmobile didn't have to root, but At&t did. Anyone confirm this?

Hey guys I'm planning on buying an HTC one and I had a few questions about the GE version.
1. Where is the development? I can't find any recoveries or anything about the GE version.
2. Will sense roms be able to flash or since the bootloader is different that will cause incompatibility?
3. Do you think the resale value worse than say the AT&T version?
1. I don't understand that question.
2. Yes you can flash Sense ROMs.
3. I do not foresee things.

There is no official dev yet.

there isn't anyone witha shipped phone yet, and I seriously doubt many people on XDA would buy one. There's no reason to, the phone is identical hardware wise to the AT&T phone, software will leak for it, software always leaks.
Someone with an S-off phone can install the leaked RUU when it surfaces and convert their phone to the Google edition.
Thanks for the answers guys. I went ahead and bought a sense version.
Hello,
maybe someone can help me or at least talk to me:
I purchased a new, sealed and locked I8190N in Germany, from TCHIBO Mobil. They are subproviders in the network of O2, j4yi.
To use the phone with another provider, I purchased an net unlock code from Ebay. I received the codes (NCK and SPCK) after some days from the seller, which do not work for me. It says something like "problems while running unlock process". Unfortunately the seller is an imposter, as he does not give me refund even I was able to show the codes he sent me do not work. But this is another story. :silly:
My question would be: Is there a stock rom I can flash to my phone? I checked my phone, at the moment 4.2.1 is installed, with I8190NXXANA1 as baseband. The last hint could be unlocking it at a phone dealer shop in town, because I was told unlocking with cable is more likely to help if code does not work. But who knows... I'm used to flashing mobile phones, running CM on my Motorola Defy all the time. But with Samsung and the special NFC version I got, I do not know wether I can use CM I8190 (without N) for my phone. Or if I should unlock it at a dealer somewhere in my town before starting flashing anything.
Thanks a lot for help and reply! :good:
afaik, you dont need phone unlocked from service provider to flash custom rom, phone just needs to be rooted.then flash rom with custom recovery. stick to roms suitable for n, i have n version & run virginity rom, but try a few & see which you prefer, there is a lot of great talent here.be careful & enjoy.

Thanks. I only wonder if it is maybe not possible to unlock it afterwards any more (after I have flashed CM). I will go to local dealer, to see if they can unlock it.
i dont think it will be a problem, let us know how you get on
You said your Android version is 4.2.1 Do you mind sharing what's your devices' model number, 'cause GT-I8190 runs android 4.1.2 and GT-I8200 runs 4.2.2. I haven't seen anything like your firmware on the S3 Mini (official by Samsung, that is)

Do not know what you mean? But already solved problem with unlocking at a local dealer. Afterwards I installed CM and now everything is ok!
I mean that no S3 Mini version is with Android 4.2.1. Do you mean to say 4.1.2 or 4.2.2? Glad you fixed your problem

I did not save it. I guess I was just wrong!
hello maybe is a easy one for someone with more knowledge than me,
can i flash another variant on the phone??
i just bought one from nook and tomorrow will arrive i bought the nook version since its cheaper and i only will use it to read and maybe one or two photos,
but i was wondering if i could flash another rom since the model is also SM-T710 i was hoping i could flash the rom from the united states one to enable more languages
i also have octoplus if needed ,thanks i hope someone can help me
Yes from what I understand the nook is the exact same other than a few pre loaded apps and stuff but essentially the same tablet after stripped from its nook branding. So yes you should be able to flash custom roms for that model.
Thanks for the reply ,I already did it and is working totally fine, thanks and have a nice day
No worries, enjoy
Help what is the original firmware for this phone
That's an International model, you can flash whatever country firmware you want.
No I want to flash stock firmware back to it, and you could be right but I have not read that anywhere. Yeah I see the film where for every other variant but the G called Samsung they offered me no help because it wasn't international version. I do have a rooted now but I lost most of my functions with the S Note and Spen.

There are LOTS of different firmwares you can install because the SM-N920G was sold in many countries. Just use Odin to install whatever version you like the most, check out the attached screenshots. If you wanna feel like you did it right, select a firmware that could be compatible with your country, but there is no wrong or right firmware for a G model, because it is international.
Wow it's 4 am I did not expect to get a response so quickly and so thoroughly will put thank you very much.
Hey bro I got that right but I'm trying too hard and I am stuck on the team win screen so I can't get into the recovery how do I get out of that boot loop please and thank you
