Yes, it does remove blinkfeed. Tested with apex launcher.
It will still be a background process, will it not? Even though its not visible. Like sense Rosie/prism itself

Torxx, you wouldn't happen to know a way we can have a alternative launcher running and keep blink feed?
I like it but I want my old Nova Launcher back
Alternatively, If I have to make do (which I expect I will have to lol) How can I change the Icons on the home screen Dock?
Or am I just being as thick as a plank??....
Cheers
To rearrange the dock icons, open the app drawer and then drag the unwanted ones back into drawer. You might need to drag them to where they're supposed to go (i.e. I have my drawer sorted automatically and had to drag the camera to where it'd be in the drawer).
You can only have the 4 apps on there but if you remove any, you're free to put whatever you want in its place.

It would be active, continuously streaming content to its interface on the sense launcher
Best option would be to change launchers and then freeze Sense
Just un-check all the options/feeds leaving blinkfeed blank. This way it fetches nothing. Then run you new launcher.

Thanks for the tip but Ive figured that out. The issue Im having is, If I use a Icon changer, it drops a widget on the home screen that is essentially a shortcut to the app you pick.
Because its a widget, it wont let me move it to the dock at the bottom...
I know I could probably go hinting to try and change the pings manually, I just really cant be bothered as I know It wont be long before I flash another rom.
Any Ideas?
Freeze it in titanium if you don't want it.

I've seen demo videos of ADW where the Open/Close App Drawer button would change its icon when the drawer was open. Mine doesn't... no matter the theme applyed.
It's not a deal breaking thing, but I've always been curious as to why it doesn't work and if there's a fix for it...
For reference, see what happens here when the guy opens the app drawer at the 2:20 mark:
(I'm running Cognition 4.3, but it has never worked with the 2 other ROMs I installed... Never tested it on stock, though)
It doesn't work for me either. I don't think anything is "broken" it just had that feature at one point but all the latest versions of ADW launcher don't. Trust me I've spend many hours trying to figure this out too lol

Yeah, I searched for quite a bit before posting here... But I didn't even find anyone who had the same problem. If this is a removed feature, it's a weird decusion if you ask me.

I got ninjamorph but can't find the theme apks... Which folder are they in? Thanks
This wasn't even a feature before. It was just the home icon while in the app drawer. You could not change it. ADW lost this when it became possible to change the app drawer icon. Ninja morph will not help in this situation. If you want to replace the app drawer icon just use ADW and create a custom shortcut. I highly doubt that you can have the icon change to something different while in the app drawer anymore.
Is it possible to change the dock shortcuts?
If so, how?
(i dont want ADW eller launcher pro (paid for both)
Have you tried Go Launcher EX? Completely free, stable and quick. Have it on mine and works a treat. Can then change what apps launch. So I have Opera as my browser, Go Dialer as my phone.
Thx bro, but maby I was not clear enough..
*i DO NOT want any other launcher than the stock one*
(at least until someone can tell me its not possible to change the dock shortcuts )
But thanks anyway, i know and have tried a lot of the homelaunchers, but it just like the stock one, i like the appdrawer where things are sortet in 2 groups, included apps, and downloaded apps.. also arranged alphabeticaly.. makes it much easier to find stuff
its not possible, maybe with some hard coding?
Oh well... ADW it is then

I know what you mean the appdrawer was one of the things I liked about the stock launcher as well.
Go Launcher has the ability to group programs into folders, which makes it easier for me. Doesn't look as nice as stock but works just as well.
Not sure if the other launchers also do this
I'm sure it's possible to change by editing LGLauncher.apk.
I don't have the knowledge or time to look into it though..
I couldn't stop myself having a quick look into the apk.
DockingMenu.smali has a lot of references to some dragging and dropping, did anyone even try draggin new applications onto the dock?
In stock launcher just go into the app list, select edit and drag into the dock whatever app you need.

i don't think you can add a folder on the drawer. But on the home screen i think you can with APEX Launcher the donate(pro)version Im not sure bec. I've replaced Apex with Nova launcher, only used Apex for about a day. Nova Launcher Prime(paid version) does them both. On the meantime you can try dragging another icon with the existing one on desktop to make a folder on homescreen with apex
Apex Launcher
Very easy,
you drop one app over another one. This you can do several times.
For example: On the screen you have the icon of app A. drop B, C, D etc.
over it. You will see one rounded Icon. By pressing on it you will see all the dropped icons with their names. The first app (in this case A) is shown as icon for the folder. You can move the icons by keeping them pressed a little bit longer in the order you want.
Coming back to main screen press the icon a little bit longer and give a name to the folder.
With Apex options/folder you can change also the style of the folder.
It´s up to you which one you like most.
Try and enjoy!

I did it, but as soon as I press the one app I want to move, it directly go to the main screen (desk top screen), I want to make the folder in the apps drawer screens, like how I used to do with GO Launcher
You can't make a folder in the app drawer, like on go launcher.

Not folders but you can have multiple tabs in the pro version. Think of tabs like folders only displaying one at a time up top. I have all my apps categorized into 6 tabs. Takes a few minutes to get used to (coming from GoLauncher) but it's actually quite nice having the entire screen for a "folder" (tab) of apps... especially if you find yourself using one tab more often than the others: it remembers the last tab you were in.

Thanks! I didn't notice you could make a new tab group by holding a tab and creating it! Very good! Now I dont have to be adding games to a unsorted folder and all that stuff! Besides, is better to have it a screen than in a folder

Whenever I try to move one icon onto another, it just moves it so that they swap places. Doesn't matter how many times I try or how slowly I try I can no longer make it so that it makes folder!
when your moving the icon over another to put them into a folder, try not to hover drop it straight away, when you hold it over the top for even a short ammount of time it thinks your organising the layout,
I'm having the same problem. the other app just slides out of the way right away and doesn't create the circle.
In android 4.2.1 , if you moved app to the bar at the bottom or directly on your homescreen, you MOVED IT from app drawer. Now in android version 4.2.2, you just CREATE A SHORTCUT, so apps in the bar at the bottom are duplicated with apps with the app drawer and same with the apps on home screen. Is there any possibility to switch it back like in android 4.2.1 ?

on 4.2.1 if you moved apps from the drawer , they disappeared in the drawer. Now they stay there and only shortcut is created. Its really annoying for me because all apps i have on home screen or in the bottom bar are duplicated also in App drawer and my layout in app drawer is now messed up because of this. I can live with that, but i liked the way in 4.2.1 better

^ This.
Also I lol'd at this thread a little bit. Not because OP's gripe isn't legitimate, mind you, but because there were scores of threads when the HTC One first came out complaining about the app disappearing from the drawer when it was put on the dock. I found the irony chuckle worthy.

Personally, i like this on my Nexus 7 , but on HTC One, where you can switch to "custom" in app drawer and have folders there , it seems weird to have same folder in app drawer and also in the dock. But i'll just have to live with that.

Sorry I didn't remember that as I use Nova Launcher where you can hide them and still have the shortcuts.
Why don't you gather these duplicate icons in a folder then ? They will take less of your space.

Yeah, already tried that. But folders has limited capacity so i would need a number of folders, which is quite contraproductive.
Nevermind, it looks like i'll have to deal with this as i dont want to create any other folders or use any other launcher.
Just wanted to know, if there is any possibility how get switch this to the 4.2.1 behaviour.
Is there any way to change the icons on the dock? I use the Icon Changer app to change icons, but it can't put them on the dock. Anyone know of an app that can, or perhaps another easy way to do this?
Thanks!

I checked out the desktop visualizer app, and I like it. Thanks for the tip. It's a bit more refined than Icon Changer (that I was using).
The problem is, like Icon Changer, it creates the app on the homescreen... and I can't find any way to get those shortcuts onto the dock. I can only get shortcuts from the drawer to the dock. Am I missing something?

Nice app... but from what I can see it will only theme an entire icon pack. I just want to change one icon on the dock.
I'm assuming you're using the stock launcher? You could edit the application yourself but that's a hassle. Idk how else to help except to use a 3rd party launcher

Open up com.htc.resources.apk in /system/framework with winrar/7zip. Don't extract it, just open it.
Find the icon you want to change in the apk and re name the icon you're going to replace it with to whatever the name is in the apk.
Now once you drop your new icon in, you can try pushing the apk back using adb but I would recommend flashing it. I've always had problems with pushing edited framework files to the device. It usually causes tons of force closes.
Hope that helps a little. Pm me If need be.
