Has anyone used these headsets? I had a jawbone 1 and it worked "well" but the earpiece kept braking. It was held together with some cheap clip or something or other. So any advice here would be great.

Hi, I'm using Jawbone2 and it is the best BT headset I had ever used! Have used several model SE, Jabra, Nokia and other brands and nothing compares with the Jawbone2 especially on noise reduction.

I am using jawbone 2 with X1 too. Thats good
the bad things are bluetooth randomly off on X1 and no voice command in x1.
But still happy with that
How is the fit? The jawbone never fit in my ear so i had to get a custom earpiece from averysound. Does the jawbone 2 fit in ur ear well?
Fits perfectly for me. It comes with a total of 3 different ear bud sizes with several removable ear hooks. Best headset I've used. My only complaint is the button on the side presses too easily. Without a case (and they're hard to find) it's easy to accidentally turn it off in your pocket or hang up on a call.

It fits my ear well, no need to change or even used the ear hook. What came out of the box was good enough, no need for the extra hooks or the rubber

I couldn't get the jawbone 2 to fit my ear right- I ended up taking it back and getting the Z9i instead...I can only speak to these two headsets, but the Z9i is sooo much better imho.
I like the button/usability of the Z9i a bit better, plus the fact that it can simultaneously pair with more than one phone is quite handy as well.
I have a Jawbone 2 as well as a Plantronics 925 and I always ended up with the Jawbone instead. I only use BT in the car and the Jawbone has this auto off function that makes it usable for 6-7 days on 1 charge.

hmm I was afraid of that but can't the jawbone connect to more than one phone too?
I currently have both (Z9i for several months and just got my Jawbone 2 today). Here is my take on both:
BlueAnt Z9i:
Is a nice unit small compact and alot of functionality. There are a lot a great reviews even those that say it better than the Jawbone from those that have both. The volume is nice and loud, in fact I find myself turning it down sometimes. For me though I get alot of "static" at time (some worse than others). Sometimes people can hear me ok other I have to actually turn it off and just use my handset. Noise cancellation when turned on actaully make it worse for those on the other end of the line. I sometimes also hear static on my end. I think, and hope, this is just an issue with my particular phone (AT&T Tilt/HTC TyTN II). And this after I upgraded the firmware to V1.1. I hope this will be fixed and I can get this unit to work with out "static" for me. Now I think it my just be the compatability with my phone, so you may have a different expierance.
Jawbone 2:
Smaller than the original, well skinnier, but still long. I had no issues with the fit and find it cmfortable with the ear piece and hook it came with. Had no reason to try the others. It works VERY WELL with my Tilt. Made a few call and people can hear me better than they did with my Z9i. I find the volume plenty loud so far and that was a concern I had. The shell itself is the button, so to speak, and I find it easy to accidently push it when touching the unit. I accidently hung op on my friend during a test call. But with a little time I should learn to be careful when touching it. Voice dial requires you to push the Noise Assassin button (on the back end) for two second to activate. I like the Z9i better in this regard, it just requires a single button push to function.
Overall:
I will be using the Jawbone 2. I really realy like the Z9i and it's abilities but the Jawbone 2 just works better when it comes to call quality. The noise cancellation on the Jawbone also seems to be far superior. If it work for you phone it a great bluetooth and a price that is not too bad, especially compared too Jawbone.
I just received my jawbone 2 and i must say its pretty nice. It doesn't stay in my ear if i'm jumping up and down but just walking around it works pretty nice. Luckly i still have my custom earbud from averysound and that thing fits snug in my ear and i can do a backflip and it will stay in my ear. Its much smaller than i thought it would be which is really nice. Thanks for all the help everyone

i heard a lot of good stuff about the plantronics 925 also one of my friends called me and tested a call on that today actually sounded pretty clear with and without noise cancellation
how much did your custom earpiece run you from averysound? I've been thinkin aboug getting one for my old jawbone
I believe it was 67 bucks and those guys at averysound have the best customer service i've ever dealt with. I did some research on the plantronics 925 and from what i read it can't hold a candle to the jawbone II. I had a jawbone I and i was pleased with its sound quality but the build quality was just awful. Its like a 5th grader designed the thing. This seems way more sturdy and there are more volume settings than just 3. I like this a lot.

I use the Jabra BT530, and I like it a lot, I think I have bought 10 BT headsets in total.
The last one I bought before BT530 was the Blueant Z9 (not the i version, it was not available in Europe)
Blueant compared to BT530
the fit and the practicality of BT530 won me over, I use it without a ear hook, and then it is really easy to have in my pocket and just put it in my ear when I need id. Don´t feel comfortable having it in my ear all the time, and a ear hook makes it so much harder to easy insert and remove. You get a lot of eargels with it, and I could find one that fit my ear perfectly, a slight uncomfort for longer use.
Sound wise, the first call I made with my Z9, the guy in the other end complained... The BT530 they did not. Not very scientifical but I feel very safe talking in the BT530 that the sound is as good as possible, however it is not as good as the internal mic on the phone.
Regarding the complaints about my first call on the Z9, it was made with my Iphone, and I have now learned that it is lousy with bluetooth, I can not recommend Iphone with bluetooth at all (actually I can not recommend Iphone at all, don't know what I was thinking when I bought it...).
Xperia is as far as I can tell excellent (had a Nokia E71, and it is not at all as good with bluetooth headsets)
Actually talked to a market manager at Jabra, and they do tests for all phone makes, and according to them Sony-Ericsson is in general better than other manufacturer (maybe because they invented the thing), and I can see that it is the case also in Xperia. Have used a couple of HTC phones as well Tytn, S730, S710, and they all where lousy when it came to BT headsets.

Actually the averysound earpiece for the jawbone 1 fits the jawbone 2 100x better than it fit the jawbone 1. I had to put some sort of plastic piece in the earpiece to lock it in place with the jawbone 1 but the jawbone 2 i just have the ear bud and it fits GREAT!!
I have a 925 and a jawbone1... I like my jawbone1 much better than the 925... the 925 sound like a machine where the jawbone sound come out just like from the phone....
I do agree that the ear piece from jawbone sux... I have broke all 3 of mine... however I found that if you fit the 925 earpiece to the jawbone... they make a perfect match! yes it will fall off once in a while but then you dont need to use the hook anymore and it feels more comfortable than the earpiece that came with the jawbone

Yes the bluetooth goes off randomly, and sometimes, u dont even KNOW its off!!! It just goes off, then your phone rings, and you answer, and you start talking into your bluetooth headset and only after a while do you realize, the bluetooth is actually off, and the call is diverted onto the phone itself.
The voice commands work SOMETIMES for me now... you press the Noise Assassin button (near the hook), hold for 2 seconds, release, and it should work. But again, after using it, it seems to disconnect the bluetooth sometimes.

I had the random cutoff problem, but there is an application called "BTkeepalive" that keeps the bluetooth active. I am using the Jawbone 2 by the way.
I did have a problem with it... the speaker's connection was not good and would "disconnect" randomly. I could tap the device and it would work again. The microphone still would work. Aliph got another one to me although their exchange program is a little uncomfortable considering I work for T-mobile and know how they handle exchanges.
Overall though, I'm satisfied with the sound quality of the device. And its by far the most comfortable one I've ever used.
I sell the Z9i at work, and I think its a little too "stubby" for my taste.

If you update to the new R2AA ROM you won't have the problem of it cutting off anymore.
So I just got my Nexus S yesterday, I love it, but... right about now, I'm feeling extremely dumb. Either that, or I have a horrible ear canal for listening to music.
I've tried everything to get the earbuds that came with the Nexus S to stay in my ear, but it just won't work. I've even watched YouTube videos to figure out how to get it to fit my ear. Something's wrong. No matter how deep in the ear canal I stick the earbuds, they won't stay for longer than 5 seconds. The slightest movement causes them to fall off.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this a common problem?
Is there a way to reduce the radius on the earbuds so I can try fitting them better in my ear? I really want to start using these standard headphones. They look extremely nice, and the rubber tips really enhance the sound, at least for the few seconds I manage to hold it in my ear. I don't want to go back to using my crappy Motorola ones. Help!
I was like this at the start when i first started to use in-ear earphones. I had to kinda force them into my ears. It was annoying at first but now its natural. Dunno if you are the same as me though
same problem here! I cant figure those damn things out lol. I had to go back to my iphone headset.
What headphone models have been comfortable for you?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Had this same problem with the last few handsets I've had. The solution I found was to get some of those foam pads for the earbuds. The friction between the foam and your skin keeps the earbuds solidly in your ear. Without the foam, my earbuds constantly fell out which drove me insane.
i have small ears too, i hate ear buds headphones as it causes a lot of pain after 15 min when using over sized ear buds, which are "normal" sizes for big ear peoples
very few products over mini ear buds (normal sizes for us), like a couple of Sony Bluetooth headsets i found in the past.
so i always use headsets that have an ear hook
I find the cable causes the most problems, If I have the cable exiting downwards, I cannot push the earbud in far enough. The only way to get a good fit is to turn them upside down and have the cables looped over the top of my ears.

Do you mean those black foam pads that used to come with iPods? Do you know where I can find one nowadays? Or is there an easy way to improvise?
And thanks for the response guys, assured me that I'm not the only one to have problems with earbuds.
If you're using in-ear headphones there are 2 solutions:
Comply Foam Tips - Super comfortable but a little bit too expensive for me considering you have to change them every month (or two).
Sony Hybrid Tips Comes in 4 different sizes so you can mix-and-match if your ear canals are not the same size. Very comfortable and durable.
NOTE: There are some "Replacement Sony Silicone Ear Tips" on eBay, most (or all) of them are not the genuine ones. Quality wise is OK but the material is harder than original Sony Hybrid Tips so they may not as fit and comfortable as the real ones.
I thought it was just me I'm living with em until i have enough cash to buy a nice new pair of cans.

you can get some rubber ear bud, the one that came standard is too big for me, so i got some sony ones, they are quite expensive, but you can get the non sony one's, works just as good, but much cheaper.
non sony one set USD 0.64
sony from most country set of 3 (S.M.L) USD 10
sony from japan two set either XS, SS, S, M, L and other sizes in between USD 5.75
Try
I am an earbud addict, try these J3Ms: http://earbudreview.org/earbud-reviews/jbuds-j3j3m-earbud-review/ They come with different earbud pieces so if you have a big ear (it seems like), then you can swap them out for the big earbud pieces.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys, but is there anything I can do with these default ones?

i cant ever see myself paying that much money for a pair of headphones... absolutely ridiculous. I'm always happy with simple pair of headphones that will last a good while and serve its purpose. They're not horrible, but if you do your homework, you can spend $20-40 on headphones that sound better than the best Skull Candy headphones.
I spent $100 on my Shure SE215's. They've got a 2 year warranty dvd removable cables, in addition to fantastic sound for those who like some bass with strong mids. They sound 3 times as good as my old Klipsch S4i's.
No danger in buying high quality audio of you take care of it.
Sony MDR-7506
They've been the industry standard for almost 25 years for a reason.
I bought a pair of Ultimate Ears 700 some time back and am extremely pleased with them. First, look what the Head-Fi crowd think of them:
http://www.head-fi.org/products/ultimate-ears-700-noise-isolating-earphones
As you can see they come highly recommended! My other IEM's are Shure SE530's, which for a long time were the benchmark by which all other IEM's were measured. Unfortunately they are also clunky, cumbersome and not at all suitable for sports use, which is why i bought the UE 700's.
The sound characteristics between the two are very similar though, which is remarkable considering that the Shures cost between two and three times as much as the UE's. If you consider yourself to be appreciative of audiophile quality though, you won't be disappointed by these. They really punch above their weight! The Shures are lower impedence and therefore easier to drive, although the UE's aren't so high that they require amping. Most portable MP3 players should be capable of providing a sufficient volume for the listener using the UE's.
Returning to the sports angle, one of the biggest benefits to me is the compact nature of the UE's. They are tiny, yet despite that don't feel at all fragile or weak. Using Comply Foam Tips they remain wedged into my ear canal throughout a three hour gym session no matter what activity i'm doing. They can also be worn with the cord over the ear or hanging down. There's no benefit or drawback to either that i can feel, it's user preference only. Nice to have the choice though.
If in three years i'm looking for another pair of IEM's to buy, i'd buy another pair of the UE 700's for sure!
I considered those highly myself, but wanted a little more bass. I figure when I'm ready to buy my next pair, it'll be something similar to UE 900.
Gotta love Head-Fi. Tons of great information over there.
Hi, I was very curious about these headphones, so I ordered a set from EBAY from Korea. They are not that good at all, very poor bass response, feel somewhat cheap and fit poorly. If you are on the fence about getting these, don't bother.
try moving them around in your ear, bit tricky then you can hear the bass. So far they are the best I ever had with a phone (Iphone, Samsung), actually better then all the plugs I had.
The thick wires also untangle like a charm.

Lol didn't you get the memo? Apple should market their earbuds as "Intelligent Dual-Purpose (earbud + makeshift speaker) Headsets". When you're by yourself in a quiet space, they are painfully loud. When you're in a loud place with lots of other people, they leak sound like oil from the Exxon Valdez. It's basically impossible to listen to anything in class; everyone else can hear what you're listening to.
Anyways, I haven't tried Samsung, but however bad the Quadbeats are they MUST be far superior to those dreaded Apple earphones.

Agreed, though I like the over all sound from the apple head phones over the quadbeats
I just tried mine tonight, compared with my now a few years old Sennheiser cx300 (I think) in ears. Have to say I prefer the sound on the Quadbeat 2's right now. Definitely a bit lighter on bass, but overall a lot more clear. Very impressed for a pair of headphones included for free in the box!
Also, the phone volume for music can go a lot louder with the Quadbeats in for some reason too.
Combined with Viper XHifi I'm damn happy.

I have long been an audiophile for many years and have lived through the advacements from tubed systems through the 7 and 11 transistor radios to what is available today for 10s of thousands of dollars. Everyones hearing is different and what sounds like velvet to me may sound like fingernails being dragged across the chalk board to you. As such, you will either like these or not. I like them, a lot. Worth every penney I paid for them and I use Sennheisers in my home. For the price, these are more than adequate for the task when I am out and about. Of course I listen to Pink Floyd and not to Waka Flocka, and Bach instead of ..... Well, you get the idea.

No, it tells you that that is his preference. The general feeling on the Quadbeats 2 is very positive for bundled earphones.
I talk to a lot people that think in-ear monitors, on the whole, don't have any bass. These same people generally don't know how to fit them properly. There's a reason most IEMs include multiple tips. The wearer must find the right size and style of tip to properly seal in the ear canal. Some folks are lucky and can get good fit from a medium mushroom single flange. Others (myself and my son included) need to customize for best fit and comfort.
Some of the most compelling sound reproduction I've ever heard came out of a set of cheap customized wood (Altec?) IEMs.

Awfull
I received my LG G2 yesterday with Quadbeats 2 and I must say they are the worst in-ear I've ever tried.
They probably go to the trashcan, nobody would want them.
I've tried with all the plug sizes, and the medium size fits really well, but the sound...:crying:
If I raise the volume to 40%, just when you are expecting to "feel" the bass, the sound will start to break up, just like a couple of busted speakers.
My set must be broken, since I can not see how this would be an improved version of Quadbeats, since they are utterly crap.
Given the general overall opinion on them from other sites as well is positive, then yes, maybe they were faulty. But to suggest yourself that they may be faulty, but then also say they are crap is contradictory.

QuadBeat 2
hey guys, I'm not sure if I'm having problem with my quadbeats 2. I'm having channel imbalance. left side always louder than right. Is this normal or is my quadbeat 2 spoilt?
So, the sales rep at the Sprint store told me that the headphones bundled with the Harman Kardon HTC m8 were great headphones. Since the beats audio headphones that came bundled with the m7 were probably my favorite headphones ever, I decided to give these ones a shot.
Quite frankly, I think they suck. I think they're definitely headed on the right track (ie. +/- volume buttons, pause/end call button & the little sliding piece that can be detached), but these were definitely a miss for me. If I take a single step, these things fall right out of my ears. I've tried every size ear bud that they came with and to no avail; these are pretty much useless to me unless I'm stationary, which is rare. I miss being able to answer my phone with a single button.
What do you guys think of these headphones?
P.S. Anyone want to trade me their m7 headphones for the Harman Kardon ones?

Same here. Maybe we just have...weird ears...lol. The only way they stay in for me is by using the smallest size covers and then jamming them into my ears...which will work for 20 or 30 minutes but they eventually work themselves loose just by the movement of my head. Which is usually a relief since my head has started to hurt from having them jammed in there by then anyway...
Mine are neatly packed up with the rest of my $5- $10 earbud headphones.....

Well... Seeing as I lost my m7 headphones, and am doubtful I'll find another pair that's just as good without spending a pretty penny... I'm just rocking these ones. Even though it's kinda miserable, what is an audiophile to do? Being an audiophile is half the reason I fell in love with the 'one series' in the first place.
But it's nice to know I'm not the only one that feels like they swindled me with some cheap $5 headphones lol...

Well, I've been carrying my studio -quality Sennheisers around with me....not the most convenient nor fashionable of answers but they do sound incredible after manipulating the 7 band equalizer just the way I like it. =)

I'm not sure what those are! But what kind of music do you listen to, if you don't mind be asking?

I had the same problem. What worked for me was applying super glue to the ear buds before using them. The only downside is that I can't seem to get then it off my ears for the last week, which has created some ackward situations at work the last couple days.

**Good** Dubstep (there really is such a thing^^) Or whatever rap collaboration catches my ear for the week(puts on flame-proof mittens).... I listen to a lot of other genres as well but those are my 2 main staples and my production is a mix of the two. =)

Haha nice! I love dubstep myself, but I'll always be a hardcore kid at heart. Anyways, my prerogative for asking you, was to see if you would grace me with your EQ settings haha. I could use some dubstep EQ's.

Truth be told I'm drum and bass at heart, lol. Just haven't kept up with that scene and have yet to find any I like as much as my old school favorites, haha.
Well, what app do you use for music? Also, let me know what Rom you're using and whether you've enabled any audio related kernel tweaks (i'm using several), I'll try to give you something you can plug right in to your setup^^
Lol you came from the MoPho 4g too? Haha, rocked that phone and miss the hell out of the keyboard >.<
Did you know you can fully brick a phone even though it boots up fine and can install any ROM on it? Lol................
Honestly, for the past few months I've found that cheap earbuds that I pick up from Best Buy and such just won't fit my ears properly. At least both at the same time. I've got some $15 Sony earbuds that fit perfectly in my right ear, but the left ear just slips right out, and even when it's nestled in my ear as snug as possible, I get absolutely no bass. This was the case with the Harmon Kardon earbuds until like a few days ago, when they just magically started fitting my ears pretty nicely. I always, always have to start with the right ear, placing it in a certain way and then pressing it in until it feels practically stuck, then moving onto the left earbud which fits perfectly. Don't know what kinda black magic was preventing me from wearing them comfortably before (I pretty much had the same experience as the Sony ones I mentioned earlier), but now I use them pretty regularly with the standard size covers. Don't know how much they're worth, but the sound is good enough for listening on the go, which allows me to keep my nice headphones at home.
By the way, I wouldn't say this song is straight up drum n bass, but it's definitely influenced by it, even some familiar sounding breaks in it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeJbLw2mK9o&feature=kp
