Sorry for the n00b question but how can i check if a have a device with locked or unlocked bootloader?
Type *#*#7378423#*#* into the dialer then press "service info" > "configuration" > "rooting status". It will tell you if it's locked, unlocked or even unlockable.

You can also connect your device to device to flashtool and know its status:
If it shows bootloader : rootable, then it's locked and if it shows bootloader : rooted, then its unlocked. Simply connect thro your MTP or MSC mode after opening flashtool! Hope this helps!

That is strange since I got an international model without carrier. Bought it without plan at a retailer. Maybe it's this because I rooted the device before wanting to unlocking the bootloader?
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
I was reading on the forums that sometimes rooting with a certain method changes the bootloader status to not unlockable, but there's a flashable zip file that fixes it.
I got mine from Handtec, and after I rooted it, the bootloader status said not unlockable. Although, I didn't check the status BEFORE I rooted...

With the current rooting method there is a known problem which changes the status in that menu, there is a fairly simple fix, but it is only cosmetic. I did not run the fix and mine said no, but it unlocked just fine

You can check it with S1tool. A number of guides detail this, such as

Forget about unlocking the bootloader, its not possible. No over/under-clock for you, no CyanogenMod or other goodies.
All carrier branded phones are locked and almost impossible to unlock.

Only thing I can recommend is to get a generic device instead of a carrier one.
No use lamenting about it here.

is there chance to have -Bootloader Unlock Allowed: No - when my phone is from shop ? ( not from carrier, not branded)
I think that it's not the matter of branded/not branded etc. beacuse I've seen bootloader unlock allowed: yes after I rooted and installed CWM and TWRP; today I've reverted rooting via SPC and the bootloader unlock allowed is back on: no; so I think someone has to look through it to see if you can override it...

I doubt the Sony bootloader will be cracked any time soon as the Xperia T was never cracked and thats a much older device.
Unfortunately that means no custom kernels/CyanogenMod.
If you buy a factory unlocked device the bootloader will be unlockable/carrier branded devices may be locked and not unlock able.. Pretty simple really.
Sorry that I can't help much.
Un-lock Xpeia SP
If you Un-lock the Xperia SP for all Networks, does this make bootloader Unlock available?
If not, any Ideas why?

Nope. SIM-UNLOCK is separate to bootloader unlock.
It just doesn't.
On some old xperia phones you could open sim and bootloader like xperia arc if you used test point method to unlock sim it unlocked boot loader as well.
2013 xperia models that don't have removable battery are no longer able to use test point so you can't unlock boot loader or sim.
To unlock sim you need code which you cab buy from internet.
To unlock bootloader you need to contact your airtime provider and see if they will help in unlocking bootloader again this needs code but not freely available.

I known but TL cannot unlock bootloader
Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk 2
Why can't? It's jus another mobile device from Sony.
Because TL is a local device
Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk 2
Almost 99% of TL bootloaders are not unlockable, but there are a few that can be unlocked for some reason . The configuration shows a 'yes' instead of a 'no'. Yet the people get through the unlocking procedure but are stuck because they can't get fastboot to work. It's almost like every TL has its fastboot disabled. Most TLs are AT&T.
Thanks for share

I wish I could unlock my bootloader on my old X10a on at&t, there has to be some way to do it. I just can't afford to brick my phone. Keeping lte seems to be the issue because how the bootloader is tied to the driver for the data radio somehow.

You can bootloader unlock it you just have to sim unlock it first, just use the page that they made to sim unlock phones and they should send you the code after that it's a matter of looking up the instructions ^^

I have the single sim international version of the z3+ and it says the Bootloader is unlockable in the service menu. So the question is how do I go about getting it unlocked?
Sent from my E6553 using Tapatalk
If it's indicated as unlockable, then there's no way to unlock it.
There should be instruction on Sony's website. Unlocking bootloader doesn't do anything for you unless you know what you're doing. It doesn't give you root access but erases your TA partition where you will lose all of Sony's DRM keys.
I'm aware of what unlocking the Bootloader does. Honestly don't care about drm or warranties as I never have phone long enough to break them anyway.

Sorry, I may have read it wrong and replied too fast. To clear any doubts, please indicate what exactly is stated in the menu. Is it "Bootloader unlocked allowed: Yes"?
In any case, this is the Sony site to unlock your bootloader: http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/
That being said, I don't see why you would want to unlock your bootloader now. There are no custom ROMs or kernels developed for the Z3+ yet. You can't even root it.

Got a question
Got unlocked bootloader without possible root (5.0.2v 28.0.A.8.266 firmware E6533 (z3+ Dual)). Used flashtool before unlock and saved S1 Dump in Advanced menu. Is it possible to get DRM keys from S1 Dump and restore bootloader lock?
you should downgrade to the 251 firmware so you can flash the modded stock kernel for root access.im using imagebreaker kernel. check out zrom also
Ok pikeylfc,
I see that imagebreaker kernel is for e6553 device. Mine is e6533 (Dual sim)... I doubt if the same kernel can be used... It has different hardware.

Not necessarily. When you have active myXperia service, service tests will show, that bootloader is not unlockable. Try to disable myXperia (Settings -> Lockscreen and security -> Protection in myxperia (or something like that) -> disable/deactivate). Then reboot your phone and check again. It's high probability, that bootloader change state to unlockable in service tests. myXperia is asking you to turn on in initial configuration (if you have new phone or after wipe), and most people turn it on by default and forget it.
