last i read, speedmod is not fully geared for daily, so how to compare?

Today I have tested both (on LPY German firmware).
All in all, at the moment I prefer Speedmod, which looks smoother.
In the morning I have used Franco kernel, but two times it happened that my device got slower and slower until rebooted. I had also several lags.
In the afternoon I installed Speedmod, when I saw there was a second version (which includes CWM). No lags, no slowdowns so far.

On the 2 latest kernels, l get higher scores in antutu and quadrant using franco kernel.

Have used speedmod and franco on stock lpf for me franco broke my wifi connection there's a workaround for this which is to se your phone is statically and not via dhcp
On speedmod my wifi works though haven't tested the latest one
I then decided just to go back to stock
Both sort of claim to had fix the brick bug issue thought they do say they need more evidence that is fix. But as of now there has been only one brick on franco but further analysis is needed to confirm

Both are good
atm using franco's kernel. its smooth and no problems at all.
Im on kingdroid v2 using apex launcher
I am using Franco right now, seems responsive
But there's no overclock capability in the voltage control app.
Anyone has luck playing with the oc uv
comparing benchmark tests scores, franco kernel wins, but comparing reality score speedmod kernel wins for sure. I get low score with speedmod kernel but it is the most smoothest, bug-free ics kernel so far. Dont look at those benchmark test ^^

Basically, you're asking the users out there do you prefer blonde or dark hair girl?
one man's meat maybe another man's poison. You gotta try it on you own to feel it.
what about this kernel under LFP?
Speedmod on stockrom. Read to many issues with Francos for now. For the rest, like comment above its a matter of preference

Would like to know as well. Also, on fransisco kernel, I get pretty good battery life, anyone care to mention how the battery life is on speedmod

Both are good, however Speedmod is slightly better with LPF. (IMHO) Franco has more bells and whistles, but Speedmod seems to be a little more stable based on the apps that I have and my usage patterns. My advise is to try both, but please follow the installation process to the letter. A few times I've done what I thought was best with flashing kernels, but actually ended up wiping/re-flashing etc and then following the instructions to the letter with success.
Latest... Tried Franco #4.... Now as good as Speedmod, if not better.
Been on franco for a few days now ... everything is smooth so far.
It seems like speedmod is alot smoother than franco, even though Franco scores higher in benchmark tests.

HI GUYS!
I NEED HELP!!!!!!
WHICH KERNEL IS BETTER FOR BATTERY LIFE FOR MY GALAXY S GT-I9000 RUNNING CM9 ICS 4.0.4 NIGHTLY
I'M ON SEMAPHORE 1.2.2S.
IS DEVIL V3 BETTER THAN SEMAPHORE 1.2.2S?
CAN YOU SUGGEST FOR ME A GOOD KERNEL FOR BATTERY LIFE ??!!
Depends how you set them up......but please don't shout, I have a hangover
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Try them and test them! The suggestion to keep the same settings for each of them! And make your own, comparisons. Good luck
I agree with slaphead20. If you use a lot of wi-fi or 3G, or play a lot, keep the screen very bright, or if the network signal is weak, the battery goes very fast.
There are many articles on the net talking about this, and right here in XDA.
Enjoy, sorry for my poor english.
JCBG
Devil3 set to power saver mode is one of the best I've tried imo. I recommend investing in a polarcell battery too.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA
But don't forget the kernel cleaning script before you flashing and testing a new kernel.

could describe what is the best kernel for our galaxy notes regarding battery consumption? either in stock or custom rom
thanks
Best kernel for me is notecore kernel by gavin. Best performance and yet best battery life.. The OC version is also great cause it is with undervoltage that makes battery life the best. I can get a maximum of 15 hours with regular use..

Ok i will test thanks for your recomendation

Personal opinion, no offence to anyone. Keep try the 2 hottest tw based custom kernel available at note forum. Hardcore speedmod k3-13 was the best in terms of stable, smooth and most importantly battery performance at on screen usage was superb.
Please give at least 24 hours to let the new flashed kernel settle down. Then you will can see the real performance.
Once again about the battery drain performance is very subjective issue. Its really depend on personal usage.
Give both kernel a try. Then you can feel the different. Maybe im wrong..
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
well I think I'll have to try both to give a personal opinion, thank you very much for your help

Hi, Imho:
Speedmod is better for battery usage.
Notecore, especially the OC's version is more performing.
Both kernels are superb........however
I installed Both........

SpeedMod, no doubt about it. best battery life kernel you can get.
Tried all them speedmod versions.. but went back to the latest version still... Phone's battery life simply wouldn't die.. Played all day graphic intensive games, sync emails,3G, wifi, BT, and at the end of the day... I still get a little more battery juice out of my phone.
Simply awesome dude!

I'll have to agree that the newest Notecore kernel (v13.5?), not OC, has amazing battery life and performance. Really can't complain

Cm (02/07) + Optimus Prime V1.9. I use cm because it's (IMO) the best way to enjoy the android experience. Also because all the mods are compatible with cm.
The reason i use this kernel is because of the performance/battery life.
Cheers
Stock v20a Euro with stock kernel I deleted some applications that come preinstaled and now everything is fine.Using stock because i like LG UI 3 and because i didnt yet installed CWM If anuyone can recomend guild how to instal CWM (best version for our phone) please do so
P.S. mine 20a Euro is unlocked and rooted.
Zaiben ROM and eternity project kernel, best performance and battery life, first time that I don't need to lower the graphics of real racing 3 to ir run lag free, also first time that I run butterly smooth mc4 and 10 hours sleeping with only 8% drop

Cyanogenmod 10.1 stable with optimus prime 1.8
Best batterylife/performance, and also... 3g isnt bugged
I just can't use optimus prime 1.9 or 1.91 cause my cel takes like 3 seconds to turn the screen on
@Jonte Thank you for quick explanation I already did unlock bootloader on my lg so now just CWM to go
The Last zaiben with stock jb kernel. With cyanogen and/or other kernel my phone gets so hot . Also i get a good deep sleep with this combo.

Stable PAC-man (22.3.0) + Optimus Prime v1.91, for me is fast and stable. Rom offer a lot of customization
Cheers
Great thread. I was wondering if all of you can provide screenshots of your battery life? Im still on stock JB and kernel, but rooted, with few apps frozen, but my battery life is still rather short.

well, I used to enjoy playing some Tegra games on it, but I just hope there's something to smoothen the performance and enhance the battery life as it is now still very disappointing.
I'm currently running V20A rooted still with locked bootloader ( I believe ). I have frozen several LG apps (if not all), and the battery life is still disappointing.
IceColdLG-P880_IceColdJelly_3.6_Final_HOX[PORT]by_SnXo. Very fast, stable, long batery life.I thing is the best rom so far.
SlimBean v 7.1 with Iodak kernel..
Fast and smooth. Never used a ROM for this long!

Umm? So you play 38 hours with screen off? Including 30 hours without battery? Wow -- would you mind sharing that trick?
This is a really useful thread indeed, as one can not only learn which ROMs are available but also how stable/battery-saving etc. they are. What I'm still missing are the links to the ROMs sources. Would be great if you could include them! Thanks

I connected a mini starks reactor to my cellphone, also I play audio only experimental games hahahhaah
Sorry for the typo, I don't really remember what I was trying to say, maybe 40 mins of gaming because normally I play real racing 3, modern combat 4, for a 5 minutes periods of time... various times a day...

Yepp, that sounds more like it, and fully logical. Should have thought myself that there are some external chargers available also in the atomics sector; leaks are that common nowadays #D
Honestly: Yeah, I already thought you meant "10 min", but I couldn't resist the joke
Hello to all the times I've been having a doubt that many users also have
What is the best kernel to use with the CM 10.1?
Remembering that like me, most seek a kernel with a longer battery life ...
Someone is qualified to give a good guess?
To be honest i think your really must try then by your self tweak then then wat your want, i lik optimus play 2.53 i have a Nice balance of battery and performance, but iodak is great to wat more things to tweak.
So bottom line try them for a couple of days/weeks and which. One fits your then best
