Capacitive (back and home) buttons not working - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Sometimes my back and home buttons stop working. The rest if the screen still works and if I lock and then unlock the screen they work again. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm running Android Revolution HD Rom.

Yes, I also have this...it is not just because they are hard to hit, sometimes they are impossible to hit. Starting to bug me now.

Same here. I'm on Stock Rom.
I'm struggling with them here a bit as well - the back one is worse, the cover doesn't help, but not the cause.

I think the area for the buttons is too small. You have to Hit it exactly

I'm on stock. I agree they are small but sometimes I attempt to press the back button 20 times before I give up and press home :'(

I'm getting this too and it's pretty annoying. normally one button will work but the other needs to wait around 10 seconds. Any updates on this?

So do I. I think I've found a quick fix which is working for me: tap the screen anywhere once and try the button again.

Yeah I have this issue without a screen protector. It's annoying, but hopefully it's just some simple fault that can be fixed by htc via an update.
Simple fix for me: lock and unlock phone.

Strange that after 2 days with the phone(rooted and with screen protection) the buttons are working better and better,after a laggy start
Or maybe i'm getting used to it...
But i think there is a software update to this....it's not a hardware issue

Try factory resetting and check for new updates. Hasn't happened on mine ever even on low battery. EDIT: I'll contact a guy at pebble i know see what he can do.

He told me that it is a hardware problem and you should email customer support.. they will send you a replacement pebble.

I've had most luck with ones marked xtremeguard or sshieldz, but even those tend to peel at the corners after a month or so. Avoid any that only cover the square screen part of the face.
