This is a port of Android Open Kang Project (AOKP) for the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit (SGH-T679)
I am doing some work on this in my spare time but there is no way for me to fix the camera to work for aokp.I have school as well. Once jocala gets a port of CM10 I will try and port AOKP jelly bean. Just don't expect it. This rom is stable and can be used as a daily driver if you don't mind the camera not working. It is an AOKP specific issue I presume and would require skills beyond what im capapible of to fix.

What is AOKP?
AOKP is similar to cm9 but with hundreds of themeing and customization options to choose from. The speed of AOKP is slightly faster than CM9 as well. For a full list of these features visit

(The fix to this is have the direct numbers of your local fire and police stations available) jocala is working on a fix for this in CM9 and once he fixes it I'll post a new update.
Stuff to Know
Internal SD is mounted as /SD card
Externel SD is mounted as /emmc
Facebook Sync is not included in AOSP, there are alternatives in the market.
Just like CM9, text sometimes disappears in gmail and other apps. restart the app to fix this.
tapping the sign into wifi option results in a fc. You must manually sign into public access points via the browser

Download ClockworkMod Recovery
cwm.6012.t679.zip - 4.16 MB
Download the AOKP ROM

Download Google APPs (Contact Sync,Setup,Play Store, ect.)
Stock Google APPs

Jocala's Custom Google APPs (With Google NOW and Maps)

[Flashing]
Hold home and power buttons until the phone reboots and the Samsung logo appears.
The stock recovery should then apear.
make shure cwm recovery is on the internel SD card and from stock recovery flash the zip file (should be easy to figure out)
reboot recovery again
select backup and restore and do a backup.
do a romwipe and then flash AOKP
*flash gapps
*reboot
AOKP is installed now
I would recomend a ROMWIPE if installing over CM9/MIUI but it is not neccicary

I think THIS website gives you more recent Google apps package. It's currently down for me. Oh by the way, have you fixed the external SD card access? It's not listed under Not Working.
Fixed the wifi it was a kernel issue upload when I get home
In the mean time you can just flash one of jocalas cm9 kernels

Changing things to make the wifi work kills the SD card and if I make the SD card work it kills the wifi

Very impressive, young Skywalker! It feels like a beta, except for the card problem. 1% battery drain per hour overnight, with GrooveIp and Google Now on. No lag, no issues other than already noted. Excellent first effort! Congratulations! Do your homework first though.
Edit: I forgot I had to change the mic source in groove to 'voip'. Also, artifacts appear in upper left hand corner when fast scrolling thru app drawer, just caught that and it is repeatable.

When I compiled jocalas kernel in virtual box it broke the wifi. All I did was pull the boot.img from cm9 and replace it in my rom.
This fixed the wifi but breaks the SD because of the fact that cyanogenmod changed emmc to SD_card.
I tried with the cm9 kernel from jocalas 0727 build of cm9 and SD card worked but wifi didn't for some reason and I don't have the skills to do serious Modding to the kernel but I hope to fix it.
Also check your lib folder for a modules folder. There's a file in here that controls the Wi-Fi

yes it does. with aokp you can also change it to anything you like
I really like this ROM, it's like CM9 but has a lot of extra goodies. I especially like the status bar tweaks, as you may know I like my icons "small". ROM is fairly stable, with a few lags here and there but that's expected for any ROM in alpha stage.
I think I know what the external sd car issue is and how to fix it but I have no time now, so il see about it Monday.

I just flashed your from but its still giving me digits instead of the carrier name. I know I can customize it but my carrier will change the name when I am roaming and that's a very important feature to me.

I was thinking about the best apps2sd out there and then a thought came in my mind to use Apps2sd of the fastest ROM i.e. OXYGEN ROM.. so here is a flashable zip.. tested and working on CM 7.2.. please test and report back.. and press that thanks button if you find this useful

is this Droidsail Super App2sd?
Oxygen app2sd script is data2sd which was working on cm and it gets ported to oxygen.using that script is same as using data2sd on cm.

And I'm curious to know which works the best? For a while I have used either darktremors or ungaze...I've used a2sdgui and s2e with dark tremors and link2sd with ungaze...so which script actually moves everything to external sdcard

hey....developers please help me...i have participate my sd card...and i hve installed cm 10.1 bt when i flash the A2SDX zip file ..then i restarts phone i got many errors..so much things is not working.......infact any app is nt installs after flash the file...i hve tried many app2sd zip files bt NO solution.... plz..help me..any one give me solution....
I know that. I had the same problem. Tryed it with S2E and Link2sd but after the last update I couldn't get them to work properly either. After a long doubt I decided to go back to Cm7.2. But with some regrets too because CM10.1 is really super and very smooth.
But I really can't do without A2SDX and CM10 is to sluggish. Pity...

I've read it on the cm10.1 thread, swap works fine but not the a2sdx. Best thing to do is wait or get an alternative. Anyone can suggest? I'm new to these apps to SD or something

Hello there, I am a newbie in this forum. Last few day I flashed my S5830 with SGSII JB ROM v10.1 and it works well. I love the ROM a lot.
However, today I have found out that, every time after i reboot my phone, some settings of my apps are gone. First problem is the launcher, I am using Go launcher all the while and I set it as default launcher, but after reboot the default setting is gone and I have to set it as default again, every time after reboot.
Second problem I found is the setting of my 3rd party messaging app, the settings in the app are all being reset back to default state, meaning the settings set by me are all gone, again, same thing happens every time after I reboot the phone.
I thought it might be the bug of the ROM, but i looked through ROM thread and seem that nobody mentioned about it, so I am curious why this happens.
Anyone can help out? Thanks.

There is a tweak manager come with the CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b82 I installed( is kernel or CWM, I think? Sorry for being noob), I suspected the problem came from this thing, so i tried to remove all the "ticks" in tweak manager and then reboot again but the same thing happen again.
I had used the darktremor a2sd script provided in it & also the a2sdgui app to have more storage. But some of my apps went missing. Though they were existing, I wasn't able to use them.
Fix : Reflash the rom. Delete the a2sd scripts from the system/etc/init.d folder & try some other a2sd scripts like d2ext+, etc.

I updated my Clockworkmod from 4+ to 5+ and flashed my phone with a different Rom, the Cw10.1 Pro. I think the issue is gone. Thank for the info!

I tried to flash the Cronmod script on the latest Paranoid Android rom from OldDroid. First I flashed a patched servicr.jar, then
I mounted /data and /sdext, flashed the script and then formated /sdext.. but it doesn't work.
Can someone tell me what I did wrong there? Or is Cronmod not working on Android 4+?

I think mounting /system is enough because the script'll be placed in /system/etc/init.d folder

you should mount system and even data if necessary but system is must by the way which cronmod script are you using please specify then i can help easily

I know but we need to mount /system to push the script file into /system/etc/init.d folder as I told you
Anyway we can add a command line in the flashble zip file to do it automatically

Okay I tried it again but it still doesn't work..
I flashed Paranoid Android, then I flashed the patched service.jar from you directly. After that I wiped cache and dalvic cache and rebooted.
After the first reboot I went into recovery and mounted /system and /data then I flashed the script and formated /sdext.
I don't know what I've done wrong there.. Maybe I flashed the service.jar not correctly?

Try mounting /sd-ext and formating it when the installation
If it doesn't work, extract the script file from .zip file and put it into init.d manually and set the correct permissons, finally reboot your phone, it should work too

Hmm I tried it now on another rom (ICS) and now it's working, but with some weird bugs. When I long press the on/off button (I mean the one in the right side) only the word 'shutdown' appears.. Usually there should be more than this one word (There should be buttons for silence mode, vibration mode,...)
Plus there isn't a lockscreen anymore.. weird

First I tried on ParanoidAndroid from OldDroid and then on AOSP ICS from OldDroid.. on which rom did you tried this? On PA cronmod doesnt work and on ics these strange bugs appears D:

Cron Mod is compatible with ALMOST every rom. uptill now i tried it on cm 10.1, cm 10.1.3, TheUltimatum ,TheMyth series, AOSPA, AOKP & Apocalypse.

which cromod script do you use if you use v4+ then i tell you that it is quiet buggy and also creates low volume bug
i cant remember but one of my friend was having same problem
i would recommend you CronMod-INT2EXT+ not v2 or v2+ just what i am telling use this and reply me

The bug is nothin but the conflict between diff scripts. If we use the necessary n specific scripts SGA ll be good rather than flashin evry script available.

I wa trzing int2ext+, did you/your friend also had problems with that version?
Maybe its a problem of the rom.. Both of them was built from OldDroid..

yes you may be right that the rom may not support it
I red some time ago that someone posted a modified version of cronmod in order to make it work on android 4+. You can use the kernel patcher by (I don't remember his name now, sorry) that wipe the rom on the ext4 partition. Good luck Peace!

That is the problem I think. I flashed cronmod on cm10 from mardon and it works without problems. Just weird that it doesnt work on roms from OldDroid..
