This is the best ROM I have used on my dear old nook color. Surpasses all other ROMs by a mile, very pleasant, stable and better than the stable 7.2 GingerB. Kudos the people who developed it. Hope the developers won't forget to further fine tune this ROM

You should edit out that title. It makes it look like you are posting that ROM in this thread. Very confusing.

Apologies for the oversight, my first posting. Tried to edit, but unable to change the title on the main page

I loved the look and the flexibility of Schizoid but had very important apps that wouldn't install or wouldn't work once installed. Too bad, I REALLY liked it.
I need something that plays well with everything I've purchased.
I'm using this ROM as the primary for my daughters NOOK Color. Thank You to all the developers. My daughter is going to love her 6th birthday present.

I have been searching the web the last 2 days. Getting more confused the more I read. Just not sure what the difference is between the different dual boot roms(CM7,CM9,CM10). It sounds like the CM7 is the stable running one. But, most of what I have read is probably outdated. Was going to buy the N2A card. But, I figured I could get a microsd and just do it myself. I believe they run the CM9 or 10 on there sd cards. If I read correctly they just used the development here on xda to do there cards. You are just paying for them to do the leg work for you. A couple years ago I rooted a Pandigital with out any problem. This just seems way more confusing than that.

If you want to leave stock alone on internal memory and install a CM ROM on SD, follow my updated SD installation guide linked in my signature. That guide is up to date for all versions of CM, including CM7 even though it does not say so.
As far as which version to install, CM7 is by far the most stable. You can get the CM 7.2 ROM at the cyanogenmod site and the gapps-gb zip at goo.im.
CM9 has pretty much stalled on development since CM10 came out so I recommend against that.
CM10 is getting pretty mature and new nightlies come out every day, each improving on the next. It is good enough that many, including me, use it as their every day driver.

leapinlar thanks for the reply. Which CM10 are talking about that people are using daily, Alpha 1 CM10, Beta 3,4or5? Just need to know which one to download. Maybe I should run CM7. Also, am I correct in saying that the N2A cards run the CM10? Thanks again! What is the big difference between the CM7 and CM10?

After a long absence, I pulled out the the NC and installed CM10 on SD card, but I find it to be quite sluggish.
Is this normal?
I didn't find CM7 all that sluggish when I played with it last some time ago.
Any thoughts?

Hello:
I was thinking about buying a Nook HD+ for my wife. The price is right and it has microSD expansion. But I don't want to use the Nook UI and want to install CM10 instead.
Is this possible with Nook HD+?
Thanks.

I use for daily CM10.1 on SD. I cant say nothing bad. All things what i had have described on CM10.1 thread too. All apps which one i tested dont had any glitches (believe me, i tested big amount different apps). Only thing is that i dont use bluetooth because i dont have needless. Also wifi have some connection lose problems if wifi ssid is hidden. But this is random.
I'm on CM10.1 because i need different user accounts on one devise.
I'm running Verygreen's 2/12 update and have no trouble or complaints at all. Daily driver all the way. Don't use BT, so I don't know about that. I haven't had reboot problems or anything.

Er...you may be in the wrong forum...
I have found the CM9 nightly to be the most stable for playing games. I've tried the CM10 and others but as soon as I launch a online game, the TP will generally freeze up.
I play a game called "Tanked" which is online and a great tank killing game against other players. Lots of fun...great graphics, and addicting.
If someone has a suggestion as to a more stable, yet fast rom for this type of gaming, please indicate which you use. I will try and load it up and give you a quick review of stability vs the cm9.
Thanks

Same here. My kids love playing games and I have problem with the T-pad crashing on CM10. I've tried every CM10 ROM available. Each has it's own unique advantanges, but hate seeing Tp constantly crash to mboot.
After rolling back to CM9 nightly, I am not longer having this problem. It's not as smooth as CM10, but kids are happy.
Thanks the Dev for trying to port JB. Hope they continue to get things fully straighten out.
Best roms

Bug free?
Mic works
Camera works
I'm surprised there aren't more posts in this thread..BUT...
I go from CM9 nightly to nightly and they seem to be the best. Very smooth and non-problematic (for the most part).
I use unofficial cm10 03/08. Works great for me.
I would like to try different ROMs, but I can't seem to find one as stable as CM, any ideas?

You may use RandomROM OR Schizoid OR AOKPCM10REMIX_DEC_0412.
These are all the most stable that I have tried
I am using CDMoncrieff 's CM10.1, AOSP version. It's good enough that I'll be using it as my daily driver. I don't use Bluetooth (as far as I know, it's the only thing not working), so that doesn't affect me.

Got it to work, although the preview is upside-down. However, that is already a known issue acknowledged by CDMoncrieff. I am loving it so far.

Hello, I just decided to put Android on my touchpad, but I don't know which ROM to go with first. I just want something with the best features available while being stable, I don't know if I should go with CM9 or CM10 since from what I see the CM10 ROM's seem to be more buggy? As-well as which Android version, since the latest is 4.2.2 but it still seems to be in its early stages of development.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the answer, I flashed it on my touchpad, however I noticed that flash is really buggy on CM10, it just gives me some horizontal lines, and when I full screen it theres only like a 10% chance of it working, since most of the time its just a black screen or it just flickers over and over and freezes, sometimes its even crashed my touchpad. Would it be best to go to a CM9 rom, or is there some work-around for this problem?
I did the SD card version of cm10 a few months ago but battery life seems to be awful so was looking at upgrading it to cm10.1.
Have had a good look through the development forum but there isnt much info on actually going from 10 to 10.1, they all seem to be based on starting from scratch.
Wondered if anyone could let me know what files and instructions i need to go from cm10 to cm10.1?
Many thanks

You don't say which device you are using, HD or HD+. If you are running verygreen's old legacy HD+ SD setup, you need to update to his new SD setup. He uses a different SD scheme now that operates much better. So that means you need to start over with the SD. Format it with SDFormatter and then burn his early7.1 image to the SD and follow the rest of his instructions in the thread, including flashing the newer version of gapps. Battery life is much improved.

Hi everyone,
I recently installed android on my friend's Touch Pad. Which ROM do you recommend as the most stable/usable ROM? (While being new and hopefully rather current as - like Android 4.1 or 4.2). My friend is definitely not familiar with flashing or anything like that, but she knows how to use android. As I will be moving out of the state at the end of this week, I want to leave her with a good ROM that will be nice and stable and easy for her to use. What do you all suggest? Thanks!
Tough one just have to flash them all and test I would go for cm10 night lies because they'll constantly update it and all you have to do is go into settings and update it.

Thanks, I'm trying a couple. I had a 4.2.2 mashup of CM, AOKP, and PA. It was a bit buggy, and probably too confusing for my friend. She does really like the PIE controls though so I'm trying to get a stable one with those. If not I'll just go for the CM10 nightlies probably. Thank you sir!
for me, the most stable roms are the standard CM9 nightlies.
they benchmark higher than any of the 4.2.2 builds, and has working bluetooth and no UI issues as noted on the CM10 and CM10.1 builds.
every few weeks I backup my HP touchpad and install some of the latest roms and always come back to CM9. it just works better, and best of all, it has a better UI (while the tablet UI mod helps with CM10 and 10.1, it does not fix all of the issues. and for CM10.1 there is no 120dpi so you are stuck with everything being oversized for the screen
while with cm9 all you need is the CWM flashable 120dpi patch which still works with the latest nightly builds and takes care of any market place issues.
Overall for everyday use, CM9 is still the way to go.
I attached the 120dpi patch that I use. It only works on CM9

If you are on CM10 and the 120dpi is too small, to undo it flash the 160dpi file
the CWM dpi patches are the only ones that have worked for me, I have tried android 4.1 and 4.2 and the only recommendations for adjusting the dpi is using apps from the market place and all of the recommended ones for me have not worked, most causes the rom to not boot fully.
The main thing holding me back from going to anything higher than CM9, is the lack of stable bluetooth support, the new android 4.1+ UI that is just a more screen space wasting version of the cellphone UI (not tablet optimized at all), and the issue with no 120DPI mod working with it.
Have been using CM9 for a long time with no complaints other than battery life. I think there may be some kernels that are better, but I like when the battery runs out and my kids have to put it down. A timer of sorts. I have not found a combination that can compare to WebOS for battery life. But, Android has all the latest stuff now for the kids, so, Android it is. I still use WebOS, though, when I can.
CM10.1 nightlies by milaq have been very stable for me. I experienced random crashing of the default browser in CM9 nightlies but none in CM10.1.
Obviously the missing Bluetooth in CM10.1 may be an issue for some but I haven't really used BT for anything.
