I will make an update.zip. To answer your question the rez of the animation is
480 x 400. The desc.txt can be edited to fit your device.
Thank you, animation is looking awesome!
Just tried this on my desire and it works perfect.
No need for an update.zip just type the following (assuming you have adb installed)
1) open a command prompt/shell
2) cd into the directory you downloaded the bootanimation.zip file
3) type (without quotes) "adb push bootanimation.zip" data/local"
Viola you have a new boot animation!
Can I install this through Clockwork Recovery? I don't have adb installed.

Install RootExplorer on your device.
Put the bootanimation.zip on your SD.
Use RootExplorer to copy bootanimation.zip from /sdcard/ to /system/media/
or depending on your ROM, it may have to go to /data/local/
Enjoy!
I downloaded the bootanimation but its not the honeybee its just the android word.

It's definately the HoneyBee. Did you unzip it to double-check? What ROM are you trying to put it on?

LOL, Right... I need to make a CM7 version with a higher framerate. I currently use modded stock rom.
As promised, I will be releasing animations regularly. Here are links to each:
1. Draw-On Graffiti Style Animation (The original from this post)
2. Team EOS Silver 3D Text Animation (A <2mb Replacement Quick Render)
3. Team EOS New Logo Design Animation! A first look at our new logo! (Full Animation) [NEW 04/01/12]
Artists! Design your own styled EOS themed animations. We have a skilled community and I'm sure you guys could come up with some great ones! They should be no larger than 12mb (at the most) and be verified working. Post them to this thread and I will add them here. Who knows, yours may end up in a later release!
To replace the stock zip use a market app like BAC orrr:
(this assumes that you are running a rooted aosp-sourced build and understand how to manipulate the filesystem in r/w)
Make backups of your bootanimation.zip file(s):
Check both /data/local and /system/media
1. Rename the downloaded animation file to bootanimation.zip
2. Check /data/local and delete bootanimation.zip if it exists.
3. Enter /system/media, delete bootanimation.zip, and move the new zip into its place.
4. Reboot the system.
If it borks it will either revert back to the shiny android text sequence and boot fine
OR
loop endlessly (could look fine could look crazy distorted, no matter) and still boot fine...with the exception that nothing will work.
If this happens, connect to the adb shell as superuser, list processes, and kill the bootanimation process. Revert your animation, report it to the designer and live happily ever after.

B. xda doesnt allow new accounts to post links
so i had to use ingenuity.

I did the same thing and ran into the same problem. I had to reboot into recovery and restore a previous nandroid. The boot animation looked cool, just not sure what the issue is. I sat there for 5+ minutes looking at "for science!".
to be honest guys there's two things I changed - firstly, we're running our build of ICS. Secondly, I'm using jpegs to reduce size. Nothing else has changed, and to be honest I've had this animation as well as others act unpredictably and work sometimes and loop others after copying over the *exact* same animation. I will do more research also, and any trials and error data would be helpful.
Quick side question: are you guys who are having loops using titanium backup, using the setup initiated google backup/restore, and/or running a security app such as Webroot on your tablets?
Also, are you copying these manually or using an app and to which location?

I'm using root explorer to push the bootanimation.zip to data/local directory... I do have titanium backup, but I only use it for user apps, not system, and I'm not using the google backup service or any kind of security app... Hope you get this working soon, really like this bootanimation. and thanks for taking the time to look into it...
OK everyone, turns out I made a mistake with my finalized formatting that I use. Here is the link to a proper working boot animation with the proper format. I will also update the link in the first post.
I will also render an ICS stock animation in this format and get it out today.

Oh, and for submitted animations, the specifications are:
-PNG or JPG Sequences
-704 x 440 size
-desc.txt should be 1408 880 24
also - the images must all have a border of deadspace static pixels.
You may use the template I posted here
..just make sure to half the rez and leave out the layers from the template

quick noob question
I have recently FLASHED your cyberdine terminator bootanimation (brought me back to my younger years) and it was awsome by the way, thanks for that mate..
My question is, how can i replace a flashed bootanimation with one of your latest awesomenesses..thanks again mate!
All good!!! My question is solved..thanks again for the wicked animations phokus..
Whoops, didn't see parameters.
Hey fellow Inc S users
I have searched far and wide for this
So I ended up just downloading the vivow rom and extracting the boot animation
Thanks to team Kang and whoever made the animation
It should work on any WVGA 800x480 phone
Preview I found:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5x65PSl2xI
To install: worked for me on my Incredible S on Ice Cold Sandwich AOKP
1. Download the bootanimation.zip
2. Navigate to /system/media and replace the current boot animation with this one
3. Reboot, see the awesome boot animation in action!
Make sure 'disable boot animation' is unchecked in settings-->rom control-->general ui
*Insert usual disclaimer here: I am not responsible for any damage to your phone*

Just google search for whatever bootanimation WVGA which is our resolution. From any phone it will work, samsung, HTC, sony whatever, as long as the resolution is 480*800
Thanks
Thank you for this it is a very cool and badass boot animation
Nice, I will be installing this ASAP!
Hey there! Just began creating some 1+1 bootanimations and so I decided to put the one that I think is the best that I made installation is classic: put the zip in system/media and rename it to "bootanimation.zip" (backup your previous bootanimation), then set the permissions to rw/r/r and reboot! For the flashable zips just flash it in recovery and you're ready to go!
I'll release these in different packs (usually 3-4 bootanimation for every release). If a bootanimation has the "Vx" in the name that means that i'll probably do better versions of it! If you want to use these for something ask me please! Also, if someone is able to compile it in order to use with cm11 theme manager, you're welcome but please send it to me so that i can keep the thread clean :3
Preview pack 1 (Cyanogen Metropolis, Cyanogen Aurora, OnePlus Glow)
Download (in video order)
Zip: 1, 2, 3
Flashable Zip: 1, 2, 3
APKs:
1,2,3
Preview Pack 2 (OnePlus-Minimal/OnePlus-KK/OnePlus-Glow_V2)
Sorry for video noises, I noticed it only after I made the video..
Download (video order):
Zip:1, 2, 3
Flashable zips:1, 2, 3
APKs: 1, 2, 3
Mono-Pack 3
Due to some lack of time i'm encountering lately, I only made one bootanimation for this pack: Metro Minimal. Still, i think this is the best BA i've made for now :3
The animation starts from the blue circle, the initial bootlogo isn't included but I could upload it if you want. Let me know
Download:
Zips: 1
Flashable Zips: 1
APKs: 1

Preview pack 2 bootanim 1 - it isn't very bright and the colours a bit gross {sorry xD} but.. It is my favourite one other than that. Would you be able to make the same one but have it in the oneplus red colour and brighter? Cheers :3

I've found this bug on various roms and various kernel, and was able to solve only by putting Boeffla Kernel (even with underclocking). Still don't know why :/
Apks avaiable!
:3
Maybe is Kernel related? If using Nightlies M8 (I still keep a copy of the build 0813, the logo is rotating perfectly smooth)
The new one, even stock, the default Blue CM rotating arrow also laggy, but other bootanimation don't have such problem...

Hey everyone! I have converted the LCARS Star Trek bootanimation.zip into qmg format so you can use this on samsung devices. I ported it to my Tab S 10.5. I later saw that the tab pros have the same resoultion. So I wanted to share it as its an awesome boot animation!
Features: Shutdown and bootup animation.
Links: https://mega.co.nz/#F!D1BDTRKJ!x1n5EBuwRai-seX4Vs7A2g
Credits: Samsung Theme application, Huskerwebhead for sharing the boot animation for our resolution,
How to install: Copy these qmgs to system> media. Then reboot.
Video: http://youtu.be/mYCKvelKv8U
Things to check: Does it work? Does it fit? Post below so I can see!
Requests: If you guys have any bootanimations for me to port, I can try! I would prefer bootanimations that are already made for 10 inch/close to our resolution. Just post a link along with a breif description of what it looks like(atleast a picture or video!). I still have to experiment around with resolution as Im still learning on how to make things perfect so try not to request phone bootanimations
Note from me: I currently need help in building a theme for the tab s 10.5. I cannot figure out how to theme the framework. If a developer can port the tab pro theme to our tab s, Id be so happy! Ive been trying for ages but I only port bootanimations... I can supply the apks also. Hopefully we can get some themes onto our tab s! Thank you
