stamina function not working on 10.1.A.1.434 - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all
Phone : xperia Z
model: C6603
Android : 4.1.2 stoc
Build : 10.1.A.1.434
The problem started after I have updated the Build from 10.1.A.1.434 to 10.1.A.1.434.
On Power management -> if i activate the Stamina mode / Low battery mode the estimated time is not changed even if my battery is 100% full.
The update was performed via PC connection.
How can it be fixed? Any clue?
Thank you.

it's a bug

Give it some time so that the phone can make some estimates. That's how it usually works for me.

do you have this behaviour too?

Go into settings/ Apps/Then all Apps/search for Eco mode controller force stop then clear data then press volume up and hold and restart your phone.
Your done

It happened for me too
but it s not bug
it s about learning of Stamina How u use ur phone So after ~1 hr using for update and etc it s normal to show few hrs.
it will learn again and estimate like before.
:good:

problem solved.
thx all

Thanks for that tip cheltenham2004!
Kind regards, Stefan.

It's a bug, the time shouldn't be hours it's Standby time, not daily use time.

[Q] Xperia Z Battery drain since update .434

Hi everyone,
Since the10.1.A.1.434 update i notice some random battery drain, normally after 12hours of basic usage (20 sms, 30min read news, check facebook...) i got like 60% of battery, but some day after only 5 hours i got 60% and when i look in battery usage, android eat 70%
Someone notice the same bug and know how to fix it ? (Stamina mode is ON)
ps: sorry for my bad english
Yes, i have the same feelings about the battery. It drains for some reason. Couldn't tell if it is for the 434 because I never really used the 350. I eventually turned in my first phone because I couldn't even get to 2 hours screentime before battery died. This second unit is better, but my personal feeling is battery life sucks on the Z. Use it too in stamina mode: it discharged 6% overnight and percentage seems to drop 2 or 3 numbers at a time: I am pretty sure that in my case a good old rooting/nice kernel/ram cleaning/cpu doesn't need to jump at 1 ghz everytime you touch the screen treatment will do miracles as it did with my s3.

Maybe stop using the stamina mode? I read nothing about a draining battery yet. I didn't test this firmware yet. I will if this problem is only to stamina mode users

I'll gonna try some days without stamina mode as you say, maybe it's just a stamina bug.
having the same problem so i am going back to .350
After .434 update, the battery seems to drain a lot slower when unused ( stamina mode enabled ).
After 8 hours left unused, only 1% of the battery drained.
Realy strange... And it isn't a stamina bug, i disable it and i got the same battery drain today. 45% use in only 5h without use my XZ.

High probability that during the upgrade from .350 that some of your apps are causing issues, I have seen this before with many different phones/roms, something that fixes it for most of them is to clear the delvik cache, then when the phone is rebooting, it forces all the applications to re-optimise. Or the worst case factory reset then re-install/restore your apps from backup

Sorry, that reply was not supposed to be directed to you, don't know what happened there. Sorry should have been directed at the OP
I have backup the phone with the repair tool on pc companion, it's seems to be like a total wipe, everything on the phone have been deleted and the rom have been installed properly. now all seems to be ok, i only lose 5% in 4 hours in stand by with the same applications installed and everything exactly the same like before.

this is a confirmed issue with firmware.434 as i have bought and sold 6 xperia z just to confirm this issue .... my phones lost 20% battert in 8 hours just by sitting idle over night..
I flashed .350 on my 7th xperia z and there is no drain now....
no idea why this is happening. they are saying in another thread that its due to baseband... but how do we flash the firmware without the baseband
Funny,i found it better then the. 350 fw I mean, for me the battery life on fw. 434 is much more improved
One & Only Xperia Z
I was also getting high battery drain out of nowhere on .434. I installed Better Battery Stats and it showed the culprit was something called "wifistatemachine".
I had previously set the wifi to only stay on when plugged in when the phone is asleep. I changed this setting to always stay on and the wifistatemachine wakelock has now disappeared and my battery drain is back to less than 1% per hour in standby. Maybe worth a try to see if this helps anyone else

It doesn't matter what you're doing, screen on time will always be around 5 hours. If you're gaming, you'll get around 4, and if you're just messaging people without internet, maybe you'll get 6-6.5. Ignore what standby time you get, that's considering you don't touch the phone at all.

I didn't find the "eco mode controller" app but I have an "Extented Standby Mode Controller" app. I FC it and restarted the phone. The estimated standby time was working again
Bro I have the same problme, dine not have the eco mode controller...
I think due to the firmware version..

Stamina mode learns how you are using your phone and creates a profile. Hence at the start it shows quite high backup time. After some time it gathers data about your usage and shows estimated time based on it.
Only problem I have it is that notification led doesnt work. xperia sp biggest selling point isnt working. Sony should fix it.

High Battery Drain

Can anyone help me with this?
FYI, I just rooted successfully with vroot.
The battery level is 97%
I have tried clearing the data of eco mode controller, but standby time still remains very low.
I trier better battery stats and.found no particular wakelock.
Battery life was amazing.before rooting.

Try to re flash the stock ROM and then root again using doomlord easy rooting toolkit or use custom ROM
Sent from my C5303 using xda app-developers app
Do not reflash stock ROM it is a waste of time.
Do the following:
Open settings > Apps > All > Eco mode controller (delete data)
Reboot your phone. The data of the Eco mode is messed up so it is a waste of time to reflash stock rom and lose all your data
google location settings

Don't mind the estimate. If I switch on Stamina Mode it shows 11 days (!!!) and when switch off shows 6 hours(!!!)....
Use your phone for everything as much as you can (instead of looking at it ) and if phone is new give it a week or several charge cycles.

Well, it showed me 11 days when Stamina Mode was ON. When switched FF showed 6 hours. But I had issues with my phone (very fast battery drain, extreme overheating), so cleared Eco mode data, and disabled/uninstall few apps. And now, when turn ON Stamina it shows 1 day 10 hours (example), so looks its back to "normal" . I think something was messed up in the system as now phone performs perfectly. Better than my previous phone, the mighty S3 LTE.
And I have to admit, I didn't like Sony (had only SE X10 which was a disaster), but this SP impressed me so much, that I ordered Z1 as well.
It's a good experience and refreshment from Samsung

A yeah, will stick with with Sony for a while. At least until Samsung S5 is out. Then will see ...
And btw, the Snapdragon Guru app does a good job as well.
Also I find out that AV's and task killers doing more harm than good.
Disabled most useless apps (GAPPS,FB,Whatsapp etc) and I am really happy with my SP now.
One thing did a magic : in the Settings I switched Off Animation, Transition and one more thing and phone performs absolute perfectly.

[Q] sony xperia z (yuga) cm11: batterydrain

hi,
i'm not sure this is the right topic, if not: sorry!
Im using a sony xperia z (yuga) with CM11 (1120140014-nightly). I know there is no support on nightly, but i have a strange batteryproblem that wasnt there before (sony custom rom 4.2.2). As i'm also using a sony xperia ZR with the same CM release (somethimes its 1 release between them) without this problem.
Phone information:
Model: c6603
Android 4.4.2
Kernel: 3.4.0-g0015ec6
Whats the problem:
Battery is full charged (100) and in about 2 / 3 hours the battery needs recharging. Im using my phone a lot for work so thats one of the reasons. What did i do to try fixing this problem:
After a search for 2 weeks on the internet and trying al things...
1. LPA Decode switched off
2. Screenprotection: 30s
3. ALL (read: all) apps are closed on end of use.
4. CPU max 8xx
5. Non of the apps have permissions for gps. gps turned off (also location on wifi)
6. non of the apps have permissions for auto sync (excluding whatsapp and exchange)
7. Wifi turned off (at all times)
8. bootapps are managed and non of third party apps is starting on boot
9. bleutooth e.g. all switched off
10. screensettings are low (lower is not possible, auto mode screen turned off)
The xperia ZR has just the defauls from cm11 after install and is in use from 6AM till 10PM and is going in the dock with almost 40% battery left....so thats why i know there should be something wrong ;-(
There are no running apps thats couse this. Alle the files (cache/dalvin) are wiped regarly), I have tryed a lot off thngs i found on the internet (ore here), its not fixing the problem. Somethimes i have the idea thats its only a drain when im using the phone a lot, when i put the phone in my deskdock (no charger connected) and in sleepmode its running for 3 ore 4 hours and then its 96% battery....
On the 4.2.2. (stamina modes 100% off the time) i could use my phone all day long (7AM/10PM) and still have 35% left. Maybe im overlooking something ore is there someone here that knows whats wrong....please help....
(android 4.4.2 is runnig smootly on the yuga! It's really a big improvement the cm11 / Sony 4.2.2.)

Similar issue
Hey, sorry to hijack your thread, but I also have a drain issue, but I didn't want to open a new thread just for my issue.
I'm on a C6902, stock rom, stock kernel, bootloader locked, rooted. Every once in a while, Android system or Google Search randomly decides to keep my phone on a wakelock. I have to keep checking and a reboot fixes it. I just wanted to check if this was normal, or if I should reflash the firmware. I'm on the Global (Singapore?) version of the firmware, since I bought it there last month, and updated via OTA while I was there to .108.
I am currently in India and am experiencing this issue, didn't really experience it there.
Any pointers?

I was having similar issue, except that my battery was running out of juice in 6 hours, I had bought a new phone and I was devastated.
I was on .108 and System / AndroidOS was taking 80 percent of my battery juice (an obvious wakelock) depleting it in hours.
What solved it for me, wasn't a single thing but a few small things.
1. Root and move to SlimKat or PA, or a stock based ROM preferably Trinity Revolution.
2. Install TricksterMOD, set governor to OnDemand / Interactive. (preferably, Interactive).
3. If you are on Trinity Revolution with Trinity Kernel do these in addition to 2.
i. Enable "Eco mode". (If your father doesn't do any resource hungry stuff on phone and can deal with minor lags here and there).
ii. Switch off MPDecision and enable Intelliplug.
4. In your WiFi setting, go to Advanced > and switch off "Always scan for available WIFI networks".
5. Go into Mobile Networks, and set Preferred Network Type to "2G".
6. Disable auto-syncing of Google Account.
7. Install TitaniumBackup and freeze services like Google Search, Print Spooler, Cloud Print etc.
With PA, and using only what I just mentioned, my phone now can have over 5 hours 42 minutes of ON SCREEN time and over 13 hours of standby with 25 percent battery still remaining.
If you enable "eco mode" your on screen time would increase upto 6 or 7 hours, which is as best as it could get on any phone.
Hope it helps.
P.S
AnrgKrshn your problem may also get solved by uninstalling the latest updates of Google Play Services. It didn't work for me but many people swear by it. Google is your friend.

Charging and normal use like facebook the phone gets heated even if i use camera for 10 mins phone gets heated and camera stops for cooling
Overheating during charge is normal. Especially if you play games, and also Facebook, because display is turned on whole time it heat even more.
Also, camera somehow manage to overheat phone to. So I assume this is normal also, every z1 I had in my hand have this kind of "problem" especially if you use augment reality or some other effects.
So nothing wrong with your phone on that one.
