[Q] Dead USB and stuck at boot - LG Optimus 2x

Hi
I have a P990 with a possible dead USB. It had a CyanogenMod 9.0.0 on it when it arrived.
Trying to revive the USB, I've found ocr66 post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1981359
I've followed the first post's step by step instructions:
-installed R2
-restored the provided back-up in that post (mexico)
Unfortunately, now the phone is stuck loading after reboot. The horizontal spiral under the LG sign is rolling several seconds, than it's stopping and that's it.
I'm able to go into recovery mode still.
Also, I have in hand a stock firmware (kdz), but I do not know if it is of any use from cwm recovery, and of course, usb is not functioning (that's why I've followed ocr's instructions).
Any advice please ?
Thank you,
Thanks

If it bootloops then maybe you will have to do a full wipe/format system. as you were in CM9 before, I assume that you are still in old bootloader.
you can comfirm this whilethe device is preparing to enter the old / new bootloader. The cracked new Boot loader has a pink LG logo.
As you are able to go to recovery, use the PA old boot loader....from tonyp....just download it form the dev section to the Ext SD Card. Then make a full wipe again from the recovery
flash the PA and also Kowalski Kernel. you are ready to go my friend
BTW, How do you charge if the USB port is not working....remove battery?

USB is still charging, but there is no sign of life in data communication with PC (exactly as in the ocr's mentioned post above, no question mark in device manager or anything else).
As far as I've understood until now, I am and I was on the old bootloader (LG sign is white at boot).
Maybe a little bit further details could be of help (I need to find and read your details, don't know exactly where to find tonyp bootloader and kowalsky kernel, what is PA a.s.o.)
Thank you,

you need to look out in the dev section....its ParanoidAndroid 2.6. Its stock Kernel is Kowalski...so no worry for you.
Did you try with a new USB cable?maybe your cable is broken...i mean the data contact....
For the data communication with PC, you need to install the USB drivers....check out on google and install it. then it will be connected. if you want to have without that, install on device and PC the MyPhone Explorer a free app...which can transmit or receive data on wifi, bluetooth or USB cable.
Hope this helps you

Of course I've changed the cable, the usb port, I've changed even the PC, but no communication, only charging, so it's not a driver problem (PC does not react in any way when connecting the phone).
Thanks, I'll try to follow your advice,

Hi again,
I've succeeded to simply recover a backup in CWM, from sdcard. But the USB problem is still there.
Let's put the problem in other words: I'm trying to access the "hidden" menu, with 1809#*990# as explained in the ocr's thread mentioned in the first post here, to try to revive the USB port.
But that hidden menu is inaccessible from CM 9.0.0.0 that I have now. So, I need to push a stock ROM, without using USB, only via sdcard. I'm assuming that in the stock rom the hidden menu is accessible.
I'm on the old bootloader. I need a zip packed stock GB ROM.
I've found an ICS 3.0A for CWM install but it does not work, most probably because of the old bootloader I have.
So, could someone post a link with a zipped GB stock ROM that can be installed with CWM directly from SDcard ?
Thank you,

Here's one I found in the development section -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31600327
The download links seem to be active still
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk 2

Yep,
It perfectly did the trick, thanks kingvortex, and everyone who helped me.
Unfortunately, the USB is hardware broken, I was able to access the hidden menu and the tests just confirmed this trouble. But at least the phone is usable.
If anyone knows some other GB stock firmware (2.3.6 ?), but ready to be installed only via sdcard and CWM, it would be very usefull, because it seems that 2.3.4 has a known bug that prevent apps installation from a newer version of the market (google play) - I've read about this bug here on xda.
I would prefer gingerbread because:
- the phone has the old bootloader
- the usb is broken
- it seems that GB is faster than ics on p990
Thanks,

[Q] Semi-bricked, USB not recognized, doesn't even charge

Hi!
After searching the forums for a while I did not find a thread exactly matching my problem, so if I've overseen it, please just point me there.
To my problem:
I did a very stupid mistake, flashing a new custom ROM with a different kernel (as usual, cooked in Docs Kitchen) without converting back the lagfix. So I ended up with a non-booting phone - so far, so bad. Note to myself: Never flash a phone during the carnival weekend again.
So I booted into download mode and tried to recover it via Odin, but here I got my really bad surprise: USB device is not recognized, thus I Odin does not see the phone.
I tried 4 different PCs with Win7 or XP, a Linux desktop and a Macbook. I also tried 5 different USB cables (they all work with other smartphones like the Desire and the HD2). Wherever I stick the phone in, it is not recognized (code 10/code 43 in Win7). I used the stand-alone-drivers from the sticky forum thread here, and also most recent Kies versions, always the same: USB device not recognized.
Does anybody have an idea how to revive the USB connectivity? I'm almost at the point to send it in for repairs...
Or can someone elaborate how I could have killed USB with corrupting the ROM? I've to admit I do not really understand how these two are connected.

Hi Amokbunny
You get into download mode but the PC won't recognize the phone?
That's messy and I can think of nothing that could have done that. you did not change the bootloader did you (flashed a full samsung ROM containing a bootloader, for example VJ1)?
If not I guess it's a hardware issue.
formatted to ext4 without any backup
I did a very stupid mistake too. Got darky's rom 9.3., installed i, everything worked great(really awesome thing), then i wnt to recovry mode and entered tthe speedmod and it showed mr that my phone has rtf files system not EXT4 as it should be, thou i installed the speed mode. then i chose to repartition it to ext4 but i didn't choose the backup. Just clicked to format the sd. It did formatted to EXT4, rebooted, i saw the darky's rom logo and the the phone vibrated and the logog of the droid just flashed. I tried to enter recovery mode-didn't load. Started the download mode connexted to pc used ODIN 1.7 with PDA I9000XXJPY.tar, MODEM I9000XXJPY.tar, GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJPY-LITE.tar s1_odin_20100512.pit.
The phone has started, appeared teh stok galaxy s logo and it's just flashing. Help needed. Don,t know what to do know. I have galayx s i9000 european version.
somehow i've managed to install new firmare 2.2.1 /I9000XXJPY-baseband /2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1-kernel version, but z4root isn't working. When i start permanent root the programm ends on aquiring root shell, the debug mode is on
Got it all running, installed Darky's rom 9.3. Thanks anyway.

Yep, I can boot into download and recovery modes, but that's it.
The only apparent change in the new custom ROM was the kernel.
I also cannot really access my external SD card (it shows me some phantom files, but not the actual content of the SD), otherwise I'd try to recover it this way.
I agree with the hardware issue, if it wouldn't have coincided with the flash procedure...anyway, I think I'll send it in for repairs if I don't get it to run on this sunday.
I have the exact same problem, except that I can access my external SD. I got the problem after upgrading to Darkys Rom 9.3 the usual way, but switched from Speedmod to Voodoo. After that update, my USB didn't work anymore.
I can't get neither Xp or Win 7 to recognize my phone. USB device not recognized, and tried all the tricks. Reinstalling Kies and drivers, switching between the different modes (storage, kies media, ask, debug...) But still no USB connection.
I updated to darkys 9.5 (transferring the rom using bluetooth, and updating using CWM), but still it doesn't work.
Can get it into download mode, but still can't connect using USB and Odin.
HELP!
Did anybody ever find a solution for this?
European version of I9000, bought in Denmark. No Simlock
Same thing here after installing JV1 + Ultibread Rom 1.4... Still no solution
*shameless push*
Any solution here? I dont have that problem, but it sounds too scary to not have a working solution :S
Same prob here! Any news?

But if you are in download mode on your fone you'd rather should have a look at your configuration on the computer. Because the fone still can be flashed if the symbol for download still appears.
- Kies is shut down while ODIN is active?
- latest Samsung USB driver installed?
- Odin started with Admin?
Btw. did you try to get into recovery mode? Maybe this also still is working as the partition is quite small and chance high that it was flashed w/o faults. So you may be able to flash a zipped ROM rather than a tarball for Odin.
USB Not working when Phone plugged in... try these..
Unplug Device from PC..
Windows go to Device Manager...
Scroll down to Universal serial bus Controllers
Start with the top one and work your way down ..uninstall them all..
When done reboot Computer and let it install them all.. then try again
2.Settings --> USB Setings (under wireless & network may differ depending on Rom used) --> Try other settings Mass storage
3.Different USB ports on PC
4.Uninstall KIES from PC (reboot PC to take effect) and Reboot and just install samsung USB drivers....
5.Using windows type in msconfig in Start>Run box... windows will pop up and untick KIES from STARTUP TAB
Apply to take effect and restart machine.. try using ODIN to Flash ROM
I myself only use the Samsung USB drivers and ODIN never use KIES
or ...Check my signature and try SD formatter

[Q] Several Issues....

First off, I am in need to flash back to stock and un-install clockworkmod...
Here's the kicker...
I lost usb connection. All I get is Unknown Device now when connected to the pc (xppsp3), where it used to connect just fine. All the drivers in the world have not seem to make a difference on the pc or the laptop, the usb seems dead to the world, datawise, charging still functions.
Which means my odin oneclick is a no go.
I can ftp into the captivate so I can upload a new rom image for clockwork recovery, however, all I
can find for stock firmware is in .tar format for use with odin, or a self extracting executable to be used when/if there is usb connection.
So I guess the simplest question would be.. is there a plain ol' copy of the I897UCJI6 rom w/o odin self extractor?
Or... am I going about this completely wrong?
TIA...
Can you get your phone into download?

I don't know the answer to your question about the CWM stock package, but I have some troubleshooting things to suggest:
Does your pc allow other USB connections with other devices? If so, that likely rules out the pc as the issue.
It's possible your cable decided to head south - if you have a chance to try your phone on someone else's computer, see if you can get it to recognize the phone there.
If not, see if you can get your hands on another cable and see if you can get a connection that way.
I'm guessing you've probably tried some or all of these things, but I just thought I'd put them up to be thorough.
Been there at nauseum lengths..
Sure, I can get into download mode. Problem is phone it's an unknown device, and hence windows/linux cannot see it...using
several machine/cabling combinations...

CWM is either part of the kernel (depending on what kernel you're using) or an update.zip file on your sd card. It never actually gets flashed in any ultra permanent way. What you can do is simply flash whatever stock rom you want from cwm, then cwm will either disappear on it's own or you can just delete the update.zip on the sd card.
Be aware that if you're running a non-cm7 based 2.3 rom, you'll need to flash both bootloaders otherwise you'll end up with a permabrick. Easiest way to do that is to use odin and a rom package that includes both bootloaders for the firmware version you want. I wouldn't recommend doing it any other way, so if you're on a 2.3 rom, you should probably try to sort your usb problem first.
Please don't use such lame thread titles. They make the thread useless in a search by someone who is looking for info on a similar or same problem.

The problem lies with the captivate's usb, so I am looking for a way of getting the stock rom into it without odin. I have adbwireless installed, but odin fails to see it, however the command line does using adb connect <ip>...
Current set up is
Captivate
Darky's ROM 8.0(JL3)
Clockwork Mod Recovery is v2.5.1.2
There is a CWM Flashable version of I897UCJH7 2.1.1 located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790080&highlight=i897ucjh7
You could flash this and see if your USB comes back and if it does then go from there.
Hope it helps
I applied the update via cwm.
Now it's stuck in a bootloop to the stock recovery screen or the lame-o
att screen.
Getting back into the recovery only allows access to the stock recovery.
End of story I guess. Anyone know if a downloading jig might be the next step?

[GT-i9000]Can't get to boot menu, or use USB. Stock

Looking to root/new rom girlfriend's old phone, can't get it into recovery/boot menu.
I'm aware that the method is meant to be volume up, home button, power. I've watched videos of people doing it and read guides, pretty certain I'm doing it right.
I've done it keeping them held down the whole time (until Samsung galaxy screen cycles) and also releasing the buttons as soon as something comes up on the screen (as the youtube videos I've watched seem to do).
Have rooted my own phone and flashed several roms, so I'm moderately aware on this whole situation.
Running stock rom, I think Optus. Firmware 2.1-update1. So I think I need to update before rooting.
Download mode doesn't work either (volume down).
I also can't get it to appear on computer. Samsung Kies detects that the phone is plugged in but just keeps trying to initialise. I have downloaded Samsung Galaxy S x64 drivers from softpedia, tried to install driver that you can download as part of Android SDK. And hence, I have tried Android SDK but it isn't seen when I run 'adb devices'.
I set the USB mode on the phone accordingly. There actually was one point when the volumes were picked up on the computer, with USB mode as mass storage and debugging off, but it never happened again.
I've used two different usb cables, micro usb from Nook, new HTC cable.
Hope I've put through all the right information, really appreciate any help, this is getting frustrating.

You need to use an original Samsung USB cable or Huawei USB cable as most others will not work , for better reference visit your wiki http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Samsung_Galaxy_S_Series as how to enter download mode

thanks for the reply. The USB mounting is now working on another computer, the drivers must be confused on my desktop.
Surely micro USB cables are mostly electronically identical?
Currently trying to install 'Kies' on netbook... maybe that will work.
Reckon the boot to recovery command from Android SDK is my best bet?
Thanks for the wiki link, I hadn't come across that

Pin outs on micro USB cable varies and most differ from samsungs, have tested them ...laptop do function better when it comes to flashing Samsung phones , you can download Andro platina from My android collections link below for recovery or download mode
Ok, I will have a Samsung cord later. If Android SDK stuff doesn't work I'll take a look at the tools you linked. Nice collection.
hmmm got the cable, and android SDK picks it up now, "adb devices" returned an item for the phone, and adb reboot recovery and download worked.
Went on with the directions here: [can't post url, but the cyanogen mod Galaxy S full update guide], got to the end of "Installing the ClockworkMod Recovery". On running point 6, phone just loops the Galaxy boot screen.
Guess I'm gonna be looking at more of these tools, and hoping that some can operate while it's booting....
because the button commands for recovery and download modes don't work.

i had the same problem as you! but i had 3bottons combo working, so i entered recovery and it was a new cwm(5.x.x.x) wiped data/factory reset and cache, flashed cm7 againg and then it worked. here on the forum there was a guide to get the 3 bottons combo work but i cannot find it anymore. I hope jig will help you, also if you want CM7 ask to someone more experienced then me to buil odin file for it! so you can flash it with jig!
ok I have the usb jig working. I'm pretty sure that I do have CWM installed, I just can't get into recovery mode, only download mode.
I'm a bit unsure where to go from here. I think it's Odin, but I don't know what version to use. I want to use the most up to date method possible, that's why I'm trying to use the established Cyanogen Mod guide, but now that I'm using a workaround it doesn't apply to me I guess.
I'm going to be trying to get the right version of Odin and find a guide for it (probably from your tools xsenman, thanks) but if anyone would like to tell me precisely what I should do I would appreciate the peace of mind
.... far out these recaptchas are difficult. Can't wait till I'm proper member :S
Can I use Heimdall to boot my phone into recovery mode?
EDIT:
Pretty sure I can't do that now. I've had a look through the heimdall commands now (ie read the help text from the command line). So far I'm looking for something that I can use with the flash command, to either get me back running factory, or allowing me to get into recovery mode.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=821698 this was promising, to use Heimdall to get back the 3-button recovery mode, but the links are dead.

yeah but... the links inside. I'm not game to just try to download files that I think are the same
now something seems to have broken the tenuous driver situation I had going on. I got the files for EzOdin in your guides, but it doesn't pick up the phone. Neither does heimdall, even though it used to
alright, I'm done!
In the end, here were my problems:
Flashing Clockwork Mod 'bricked' the phone putting it into a boot loop. This was because I was meant to be on 2.3, but I was on 2.1 (I think).
I couldn't easily escape boot loop, because this version of the Galaxy S didn't have the 3 button method to enter recovery or download mode. This is somewhat common, especially in Australia from what I've seen. I had to enter into download mode by using the usb jig where you connect a 301k ohm resistor between pins 4 and 5 of the usb port.
It took me a loooong time to progress from here, but I think the main cause of this was usb drivers. I think for most people it will be plug and play though. The thing that got me there in the end was the right combination of uninstalling, and using the driver tool with the Heimdall suite.
I ended up having to install another rom via another method, to give me access to recovery mode, so that I could then install CM 9.1. I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991792, and had to get the files from ,https://www.dropbox.com/s/d382m2kyorzum16/ezbase recovery kit gb.zip (hopefully that's still up for future readers)
Then from download mode again, I had to redo the kernel flash using Heimdall, as described http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide.
I had problems here where I thought I was on clockwork mod but wasn't, and hence the packages were read as invalid (I guess it was expecting a Samsung/Optus one). But with that kernel flash, now that I was [*actually*] on Clockwork Mod, the Cyanogen Mod zip was recognised properly and it installed
Hope this helps future readers, and thanks for the help.

[Q] Problem with GT-N7000

Hello!
I am a complete noobie when it comes to rooting androids/installing new roms and so on but I for the life of me cannot get my head around this and I keep running into the same problem no matter which way I try.
I attained this phone from a Chinese (and funnily enough bought the phone in China too) friend of mine after she decided to buy herself an Iphone. Before she gave it to me she factory reset it and it came to me stock:
Model Number: GT-I9220
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: N7000XXKJ6
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKKA-CL726566
Build number: ANZHI.COM.AX918
So to start with one of the issues is that I cannot seem to get Windows to pick up my phone as a USB device no matter what I try. I've tried downloading the latest USB drivers from the Samsung Website, installing KIES to manage the device but nothing seems to work it simply will not pick it up as a USB device. I've tried multiple computers too so it would seem to me that there is something wrong with the phone, perhaps she damaged the connector port on it, it does however charge with no problems when connected via USB. This of course stops me from using ODIN or any forms of rooting that require it to be connected through USB. I've also followed the steps on the phone to tell it to connect via USB in the Wireless menu under "USB Utilities" and under the Applications menu for USB development support.
So that aside I was glad to see that there were other options for rooting/installing a new ROM but again I seem to run into issues that I can't explain.
First off, I struggle to find the correct rom for the kernel of my phone anywhere and when I did manage to find it, it was hosted on the HotFile website which has been taken down because of legal issues.
Second is, I've tried the other methods like the "ExynosAbuse" which tells me that my version doesn't need to be rooted and when I try simply installing a new rom (seeing as it seems I do not need to root my device) I keep getting the follow error:
E: failed to verify the whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
I get these errors for EVERYTHING that I try to install through rebooting my phone into recovery mode and "installing update from external SD." Currently the only method I have for getting the files across to my phone from my PC is through blue tooth and then manually moving them onto the SD card.
The above errors also happen when I try to install the "Clockwork Recovery Mod" by unzipping the file and running it whilst actually logged into the phone and telling it to do a recovery installation.
So basically I am at a loss as to how I can install a new custom rom on my phone, so far everything I have tried just doesn't work.
Perhaps I'm just too green and missing some fundamental step, but I've been reading/googling now for the last 2 days and it just doesn't look hopeful.
Anyone out there able to shed a little more light into this for me?
Thanks!
You have a Gingerbread version of recovery and it does not flash zip file from recovery as you already tried. You will need to update to ICS or above to use that method of rooting. Unfortunately the imo the only way is to get the USB port working so you can either update the rom or install a recovery using Odin unless some other member has to add.
Have you tried a different USB cable?

Yeah I've tried several different USB cables but still no luck.
So basically I'm screwed if I cannot get the USB to function?
Anyone got any ideas or can I pretty much just discard the phone if I can't get it to connect via USB?
Hate to post again but I'm sorta desperate, I need to know if there is something that I can with the phone or not.
Thanks!
When you try to connect to PC, if there is some action triggered by windows asking for driver somethingvthen it is driver problem. If there is no action from window then usb cable or port. You can also try to check in window device manager.
May want to try to clean usb port or look for a technician who can replace the port.
Btw, there seems to be a temporary cwm.zip which will flash and then it help you to flash proper kernel or rom. That cwm.zip is dangerous if you are using ics or jb rom. But GB rom should be fine. That is all I can think of.
Sent from my phone.
I don't think the temp cwm.zip will also be accepted by the GB recovery and will come as signature failed.
Thanks for the responses, I think the port is damaged so how because it just won't even respond in windows but it does however charge fine.
Anyways I'll look at getting a replacement port on it!
Thanks again!

OP3T Bootloop - no way to flash new firmware?

Hello!
I am a happy owner of a OP3T 128GB version, but I've currently ran into an interesting issue . I am familiar with rooting android, fastboot, adb and stuff and I have limited experience (a begginer, but a quick learner ) with some other android phones. I hope I'm not creating a duplicit question - I am really sorry if I am, but I haven't found a solution to my problem even after hours spend behind the desk.
Long story short - accidentaly did an Advanced wiped in TWRP (3.1.1-0) and wiped my system (OS) and everything in the phone. I don't really care about the data, but checking the Sysem box in Advanced wipe menu has brought me into serious trouble it seems. Of course, I got a bootloop - my bad, right , nothing I can't fix I thought... But when I approached to try to flash a zip or .img of a system file/stock ROM respectively, I found literally no way to do so. My phone isn't recognized by my PC(s) (Windows and Mac) and I tried everything I could. The device isn't even a Qualcomm or sth. in the device manager - simply nothing, I can only get the device to charge sometimes when connected to the PC (seen in TWRP). I cannot connect an USB key to it via OTG either in TWRP to flash from there - TWRP just does not seem to know I even plugged a USB into the phone. I tried OP drivers, adb naked drivers, the phone and the PC just don't seem to be communicating at all.
The device can boot into fastboot, recovery (TWRP) and if proceeded TWRP prompts with "No OS installed" and I get a bootloop as expected. Is there any way I could try to flash the device with proper firmware? I do have the firmware and everything, I just can't seem to find a way how to flash it . I am a young student who just likes to play with tech stuff and devices and messed up and cannot help myself and I am really hopeless at this point . Any advice is greatly appriciated.
Thank you so much.

If you can flash/boot into TWRP, then probably nothing is lost. While in TWRP, if you connect your phone with PC, what happens? Do you hear the usual USB connection sound? If yes, what appears in the device manager?
Even if it doesn't appear in device manager, don't worry.
Boot into TWRP, go to storage, DISABLE MTP and enable it again. I know it sounds dumb, but just try it. It will be recognized as long as you have the proper drivers installed.
After that copy the zip of an OxygenOS based ROM like FreedomOS and flash it. Don't wipe anything. It will boot fine. I've done that a few times, never had a problem.
Thanks for the advice guys - no, no sound, nothing - as I said, I only get the charging (+) icon in twpr next to the battery percentage.
I did disable and enable MTP before - although not plugged in a pc during the process - will try if I have the chance.
One more thing that might ring a bell for someone - I tried the key combo for hard reset today(power + vol down) for a couple second and moments later I got a fuzzy (random colored pixels) screen and a red led. Weird, if you ask me.
P.S.: Today I tried to chat with OP a bit - 230 Eur for a new MB (64GB) and 255 Eur for my 128GB version - I just wanted to know, I'm still not admitting failure though. But as a student, these numbers from the support literally hurt me when reading...

1) try to update the twrp to the official 3.1.1.0. Then flash the latest modem firmware for your device and try to flash a custom rom like lineage os (a 7.x rom)
If you connect the phone to PC in TWRP and your phone is not recognized, chances are good that either your phone's USB or the cable (or the USB port on the computer) is not working. You can try to download the adb driver installer from here, just to check if your phone is listed by the installer: http://adbdriver.com/downloads/
Update - tried the MTP Enable/disable option in TWRP (in the Mount menu) while plugged into the PC, with no luck
IvanPrince - have you actually read the description of my problem? I have the 3.1.1-0 and even if not, how should I actually flash another version of twrp? The problem here is I cannot seem to find a WAY how to flash ANYTHING on the device.
I'll see about the adb drivers and update.
Thanks all,
Does the phone show up as anything on the PC when you boot to fastboot? I re-read but didn't see anything about it.
Nope - nothing. By now, I believe it is a hardware problem as the phone indeed got wet before my mistake with the advanced wipe. It appears to work just fine though, apart from the connectivity issue, so I believe the MB should be ok as everything else, including the screen is.
I just have one, perhaps a little courageous thing I'd like to ask from someone kind enough. Anyone with a Oneplus 3 or 3T who's not afraid to open the phone for a couplne minutes and has a multimeter alongside with a USB cable should be able to help me.
Could you, my awesome stranger, check where the 4 USB pins (on the side where you plug them into the PC) lead (make contact/'BEEP' on the multimeter) with the actual phone motherboard? It would REALLY help me in troubleshooting and perhaps saving 250 Eur. So far, I have this: (same color means contact) at that point. See picture.
BLACK - GND (all the heatsinks are connected to GROUND as well)
GREEN - DATA +
YELLOW - DATA -
RED - VCC
If anyone decides to open up their phone and help out a fellow xda guy, it will be greatly appriciated.
Hey Bro I was curious to know if you tried this method of recovering from a hard brick... When I first got my 3t something similar happened to me. I can't remember all the details of my hard brick but I thought I was f***ed. Please try this if you have not already.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/unbrick-unbrick-tutorial-oneplus-3t-t3515306
Might be a dumb question, but you did remember to mount the USB when you connected the otg right?
If the bootloader is unlocked, you can save it.
I would flash the stock recovery and the latest factory image (4.1.7)
Download them both from here:
http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-3t/oneplus_3t_oxygenos_4.1.7/
After flashing the stock recovery using fastboot, boot to stock recovery and sideload through ADB the stock factory image.
Reboot and after checking that everything is working fine, feel free to relock the bootloader if you wish to stay 100% stock.
If the computer doesn't recognize it at all then it's a driver problem, not the phone... at least that's what I think.
try to use the program to fix my oneplus 3t it said download complete. try to restart
